Does anybody know which Class 69 was parked outside Doncaster Roberts Road today please?
One of two..001 or 005...should be able to work out which based on livery you saw..001 in GBRF blue/orange with Whiskers, 005 in Green and named Eastleigh...this was outside at the station end of Roberts Rd on Sunday when I passed at 1430ish

A new unique livery would be nice for 69006. Maybe for a change something that isn't the generic gbrf and something that isn't a heritage livery

Interesting, I thought GBRf had said that every single 69 would carry a unique livery?

I'm hoping that 56081, given that it's currently in operational condition, remains in grey.

56106 seems to have played its final part in this programme, having been stripped of parts at Leicester. Now reported to have been moved to a scrap merchant in the Newark area - anyone know which scrap company it is?

I've seen a pic of it minus one cab but I believe that has found its way to Longport EMD
It was minus both cabs when it went for scrap. One went to Hungary to repair a collision damaged classmate and the other is now at Longport, presumably as a spare for the Class 69s.

Bagged my first ‘sighting’ of a class 69 today as 69006 trundled past me in Crawley this afternoon, with 73107 along for the ride as well... not sure if it’s the first time one has been along the Arun Valley Line or not?

Been told that 69006 has self imploded somewhere today. Seen very short video which has no link I'm afraid.

Does anyone know more ?

It is definitely under maintenance status on TOPS (at Tonbridge) but not heard what has happened

56104 & 56312 due to be transferred to Longport FD from Leicester LIP today on 1118 5M56

** 5M56 duly worked today, an almost 3 hour late departure with 56081, 56104, 56312, 2 barriers & 47749, delay reportedly due to paperwork for 104

The 69s have been out on RHTT a bit, but at least for the diagrams that pass me here in South London they are all in the hours of darkness. However for what it's worth...

Hearing a little rumour that Colas might be taking on a 69 after RHTT season to test them as a possible way to boost their fleet numbers. It seems they are getting a little tired of their own Class 56 reliability

A question for those who have been observing the 69s in the wild for a while now... Do you reckon you could tell one apart from a 66 by sound alone?

I think I might be able to, but not reliably. Sometimes I hear something coming and my first thought is that it might be a 67, then I decide it's not and wonder if it's a 69. And sometimes I'm right.

If Colas wasn’t struggling for loco availability, maybe they would consider their own 69 conversions ?!
