Another small point that shows the lack of interest in the line. In the present (until 1 June) timetable the standard times in both directions are 25 minutes when no stop at Smallbrook Junction is indicated, 26 when one is. From 2 June they will be 27 for all northbound trains and 28 for all southbound. As the units are reported to require 4 minutes to turnaround, this makes an hourly timetable impossible. Whether they will try to sort this out, which would no doubt cost a sum that would make the Ministry of Defence blanch, or just not bother to spend any money and keep the support, remains to be seen. Still the project achieved its purpose: lots of tax-payers money shovelled into the pockets of private ‘enterprise’.
