I'm sure this will start off a big debate, but it has been proven AND ruled in legal proceedings. End of an argument I always knew I was right in (by purchasing the PS3)

Square-Enix, makers of the sci-fi role-playing Final Fantasy series, said the TV advert used images that did not contain actual gameplay but had been taken from full motion video (FMV). They admitted, however, the images used were played back on the PS3 as it allowed advertisers to capture the FMV footage for the advert.

The ASA said: The PS3 image in video sequences appeared sharper and colours were more vivid than those of the Xbox 360.
It said the advert should have featured footage derived from the Xbox. Because it did not, and because we considered that the use of PS3 footage in the ad exaggerated the quality of the footage available on the Xbox 360, albeit marginally, we concluded the ad was misleading, it added.
