I had gotten an email within 24hrs after completing the online test that i progressed to the written assessment stage and a link to book it, but judging by what everyone else says timing varies a lot due to the high volume nature of the job process
Ah okay that makes sense. It’s been about 4 days since I completed mine last week Wednesday. So hopefully they’ll send a email this week.

Anyone know how long the screening process could take? It’s been a while now and haven’t heard a single update from them.

Nope, you just have to remember where things are/routes taken (that is all I can say)

It has taken almost a month, if you want an update call Reed and they will be able to help

Last week, I had a roleplay scenario that included lost property, vaping, alcohol, an angry customer, and a ticket issue all in one. I didn't notice that the lost bag was under the table, so always check your surroundings. The actor mentioned she received a call from the station saying the bag was found and to come collect it, but I didn't know where the bag was. At the end, the actor told me the bag was under the table, and there were many bags there. You need to ask which color bag to return the correct one. The actor kept shouting and asking how long it would take.

Unfortunately, I didn't notice the bag under the table. I addressed vaping and alcohol not being allowed, and the actor asked why they weren't allowed. I handled those parts, but in the end, I failed. I'm sharing this update to remind you to look around the room. The assessor may give minimal information. For lost property, the sheet said it takes 15 working days, which was confusing. However, the roleplay is easy if you check your surroundings and provide correct answers.
This is the exact same scenario I had yesterday, if I had read this I reckon I would’ve passed because I handled the smoking and vaping parts pretty well, it was just the lost property part that I didn’t succeed in. I’m so annoyed but it is what it is

How did you try and resolve the issues of the lost item?

Great, thanks!

For the roleplay you get a sheet with basic information you'll need, what they're looking for (customer service, reducing fare evasion, etc.) and they'll explain the set up in the room. It's not in an actual station environment so they'll explain that this chair is a ticket barrier or a whiteboard is a ticket machine. And you've just got to handle the situation thrown at you. Mine was a busker.

You'll find out then if you've passed and if you do you'll have the interview they'll give you a vague situation and you can't really prepare for it you just have 10 mins to work out what you would do and then they'll probe and challenge you on what you've said.

Honestly just be yourself and whatever you think comes naturally, if you're customer focussed and read the situation you'll be fine.

If you hear nothing within 10 working days, give them a call.

When doing the role play make sure you scan the room before you start, focus on completing the task and focus on giving great customer service.

When doing the SBI explain in detail why you done something and the reason you are doing it in detail, prioritise the tasks in this order:
health & safety/ security
Service
Customer service

Still going on :( it is taking forever! What about you?
Well I gave them a call today, my referencing was done a couple weeks ago. On the phone, the lady gave me a link to provide additional details and now my ETW is done.

Just left now is the DBS checks, only god knows how long that will take.

On the progress line, what does it currently show?

My references are also done too, and ETW is also done.

Does anyone know if the training are done once a month or do they have multiple courses at one time? As I can do Sep but then away for first week in October. Do you think I can tell them that when they offer me a course that Nov would be better?

It’s strange because it still says ‘application received’ and nothing further has progressed.

In terms of the training dates mate, I’d suggest taking the first available date they give you as I know training dates are extremely scarce and a missed opportunity may mean you would have to wait a lot longer.

Well it is a pre-planned holiday with family booked since before I applied for this job- so hopefully they will understand.

Hey! If you don't mind me asking, what were the scenarios they assessed you on in the SBI?

I had my role play and SBI for CSA 1 Night Tube on Monday and I was able to pass.

I can understand why people may fail the role play as my actress was very rigid and told me to do one a lot of times.

I emphasised her safety as my primary concern throughout our interaction and I feel that may be the reason why I passed although the role play lasted maybe 4 minutes.

SBI was more straightforward.

I’m still waiting for an email about onboarding but I was told that I would be receiving in a few days time.

Should I bother calling or wait for that email?

Hi, thanks for the info.

Do you recall the specific questions they asked you in the SBI interview?
I assume mostly STAR based.

What, and if you haven't heard with 7 days give a call, they are really busy and you can be forgotten about. It happened to me.

It’s possible the scenario changes per candidate, but mine a few adolescents displaying anti-social behaviour in the station with e-scooters.

I was then asked to what would I do and why as well as what would I consider and why?

and then some other questions were asked based on the answers I gave

What, and if you haven't heard with 7 days give a call, they are really busy and you can be forgotten about. It happened to me.
Thank you, will do

Hello all,

Could someone please shed some light on SBI?

Does the STAR method work in SBI? I’d appreciate if someone could share atleast one example step to step how to answer using SBI please. I am not trying for exact scenario but willing to understand the best way to answer.

Videos on youtube or internet are not helpful because all the STAR method questions are relevant to previous experience but for TFL, they would ask how we would deal with the situation. I have already failed once in the final round. Still could not understand where It went wrong.

Any little information would possibly help me prepare well for the assessment.

Thank you
