Steve Knight media, https://www.stevenknightmedia.com/fleet-news-ramblings has reported SN56AEZ/AFA as having moved to Stagecoach Midlands

Thanks, knew I wasn't imagining things!

Borrowed the image from that website - I wonder what the reason is for the covered over destination units. Are the ECB Hanovers still intact? I've heard conflicting accounts that these vehicles will return to ECB eventually after lease/loan or they have been sold.

I had been told they were on loan to Stagecoach from Ensign.

I assumed the ECB Hannover's would have been removed to fit to blind equipped B9TLs staying in group stock?

Think all the other B7TL departures from memory have had destination kit removed?

So far, no B7's have left the fleet with their LED screens intact - however, it is an option for buys.

You're right in saying they are removed to be put in other vehicles.

Ah! That would make sense. I thought it would be a bit unusual to say the least for Lothian to lease buses to Stagecoach. Thanks.
I've heard some are are going to Moffat And Williamson, Cardenden after the loan.

They must be wanting to charge an arm and a leg to keep them in seeing how nobody has bothered to buy them with them intact. Probably asking the same price they bought them for.

Not that it's hard to replace them but you do get some lazy operators who would rather just put paper on the windscreen and call it a day.

The Lothian Virtual Doors open day has began with a video about the Control Room:
Lothian's Virtual Doors Open Day 2020 - Control Room
Michelle (Edinburgh Area Manager with Support in Mind Scotland) and David (Stafford Centre service user) catch up with Dean – an AVL controller – based in Lothian’s Control Room to find out what happens behind-the-scenes!

It is interesting to see the way the control room works, I like the fact that instead of 4 or 5 controllers working the same area like some taxi companies do, it is a controller for each depot, be nice to see what other videos spring up during the day.

I believe it was involved in an RTC and is currently at Seafield. Other members might know better though.

Apologies for quoting my own post, but it would seem it appears to be there.

ADL have confirmed an order from Lothian for 98 double deck buses is going ahead: https://www.alexander-dennis.com/me...government-support-for-35-new-electric-buses/

ADL will manufacture the buses locally in Scotland, supporting skilled jobs and apprenticeships as well as its wider Scottish supply chain which will also benefit from Lothian Buses’ separate confirmation of its intent to continue with an order originally placed in 2019 for the purchase of 98 Euro 6 double deck buses which ADL will build in Falkirk on Volvo chassis.

Excellent news, saw it confirmed internally as being postponed but good to see the full order is going ahead. Presume it'll be 90 for LB and 8 for ECB? So 128 new buses over 2 years with the new single decks despite COVID-19.
I'm assuming that they'll replace the remaining B7TLs and original Gemini B9TLs.

Wonder if this will include the Enviro400 bodied B5's for East Coast and main fleet or if it's just for more XLB's for main fleet.

If it is all XLB's, then that's a fantastic boost in capacity.

Note: Didnt take long for the news to make it to Facebook Groups - I'm assuming this was triggered from these posts as the ADL article was posted yesterday and nobody mentioned it until we discussed it.
