Are there any plans to set the whole of Princes Street and the Bridges as public transport only? It's horrifically slow today with so many private cars.

In the short term there were plans to add a northbound bus gate on North Bridge/South Bridge as part of Spaces for People and the bridge refurbishment but I understand there were legal threats from private hire companies. Long term, the bridges will become bus/taxi/cycle only as part of the North/South tram line.

For Princes Street I'd imagine the bus gates/closure at the east end will stay around. I don't believe there's any plans to remove traffic from the Lothian Road - South Charlotte Street route.

Keep it in Lothian Country colours when its operating in service for East Coast Buses?

A little bit of common sense and logic from some people would go a long way:rolleyes:
What I was meaning is send it to Lothian Country instead of repainting, I wasn’t meaning it to be sent to East Coast Buses in that livery, I should have been a bit clearer :).

Well 841 - 843 are there without repaint but I understand this is a (somewhat) temporary.

Congestion has been very bad sround town this afternoon. Quite a lot of full and standing buses too most noticeably on the 44

Something has to give, I've been late finishing every day for the last 3 weeks - 40 minutes late off a 30 from the centre at Longstone yesterday (at 2pm!) really took the biscuit. Traffic is back with a vengeance.

English Bank Holiday weekend (which a lot of large employers follow) won't be helping matters, nor the first weather forecast in a while that didn't recommend a diving bell if you were going outside...

The 3 seemed to be quite bad for full and standing too, and also for bunching; I was on a 3 from Dalkeith going into town, there were two 3s running together 10 minutes ahead of the service I was on (according to the tracker), and yet the one I was on was still almost full (it was standing but then some people choose to stand even when there are spare seats).

How can they improve that though? They're unlikely to change the timetables to take into account roadworks which are temporary, and the Company itself can't do anything about the amount of other traffic on the road which is clogging everything up.
I do wonder whether the roads are going to be worse than normal this year, from the government doing their "public transport is super dangerous, avoid it at all costs!" messages.

It's obviously very short notice but they would be wise to run a weekday timetable tomorrow as I feel like it's going to be even worse; reduced number of buses out and the forecast was for hot and sunny the whole day (well, it was when I checked earlier anyway!!).

Every other company is able to use every forward facing seat... no social distancing there...
Only in England as of May 17th. It should come as no surprise that Scotland is still on 40-45% capacity, officially.

Ultimately though, don't get on the bus if you think it's too full. You'd be forced to if capacity was "officially" restricted anyway!

This is not the place to be discussing distancing on buses. There's a whole section on the forum concerning Covid; please take any concerns there.

More B5TLs to Longstone today, 625 was the highest fleet number I saw.

Regarding the Gemini B7TLs, has anybody got any knowledge as to where the following buses made their new homes?
703,738,746,763 and 786. I would greatly indebted .

I'm not gonna give a direct answer but I will say, coaches are normally build in Scarborough.

That being said more diversity was being sought in Motorocaches. ADL Falkirk could also provide finishing touches, paint and interiors.
Do the ex-Green Arrow coaches belong to Motorcoahes now?

Have the ex-Green Arrow coaches been to ADL for conversion to normal coaches?
