Only just realised the Paddington easements were for... 2027?
I think someone has done a cut-n-paste in error.

What I'm more interested in is whether customers using contactless will be able to travel via Reading/Windsor and Staines?

Two easements were added to the routeing guide yesterday.
Changes from 08 Nov 2023 (473) to 15 Nov 2023 (474).
Easement changes:
Added:
701145 (Fare route) During engineering works on the 06 and 07 January 2024, when Rail replacement services will be in operation. Tickets priced on route (00430) LNER & CONNECTIONS will be valid via Grantham, Corby and Wellingborough but not Leicester. This fare route easement applies in both directions
There are no trains scheduled between Grantham and London on that weekend.

This easement allows some LNER advance tickets to be used on rail replacement buses between Grantham and Corby. The easement is needed (if they want to sell advance tickets) because one of the unpublished restrictions for the 00430 route code would otherwise prevent those tickets from being offered via Wellingborough.

701146 (Fare route) Passengers travelling in either direction between Leeds or Newcastle and London with tickets on route 00076 (Via Peterborough) on 07 and 08 January 2024 may travel via Grantham and Corby.
This allows "via Peterborough" tickets to be used via Wellingborough on two specific routes. It has no effect on other routes such as Newcastle-Heathrow Airport, Newcastle Airport-London or Grantham-London.

Two more easements were added this afternoon.
Changes from 15 Nov 2023 (474) to 16 Nov 2023 (475).
Easement changes:
Added:
701147 (Fare route) During engineering works between Barking and Pitsea on the 18 and 19 November 2023, tickets priced on (00118) VIA UPMINSTER will be valid via Pitsea. This fare route easement applies in both directions,
No C2C trains are due via Upminster this weekend, or at the stations between Upminster and Pitsea. This easement means that (say) a Basildon-London ticket may be used via Grays.

701148 (Routeing Point) During engineering works on the 18 and 19 November 2023, journeys to West Horndon and Laindon may go via Pitsea. This routeing point easement applies in both directions
This allows non-local journeys (those which go to Romford, Barking or somewhere beyond them) from West Horndon or Laindon to be made via Pitsea. The data only allows this for journeys via Upminster. I don't think this matters as the journey to Pitsea will be by bus, and I don't think a fare check is carried out for that.

The following post was written on 22nd November 2023.

Some changes were published to the routeing guide yesterday.
Changes from 16 Nov 2023 (475) to 21 Nov 2023 (476).
Easement changes:
Removed:
701124 (Fare route) During engineering works on the 01 and 08 October 2023; 05 November 2023; 11 to 17 November 2023. Tickets priced on route (00615) VIA GOMSHALL. Will be valid for travel via Clapham Junction, or Guildford. This fare route easement will apply in both directions.
701125 (Fare route) When replacement bus services operate between Guildford and Gatwick Airport on 24 September 2023, 01 and 08 October 2023, 05 November 2023 and between 11 - 18 November 2023. Fares priced on route (00615) VIA GOMSHALL will be valid on these services. This fare route easement applies in both directions.
701127 (Map) When replacement bus services operate between Guildford and Gatwick Airport on 24 September 2023, 01 and 08 October 2023, 05 November 2023 and between 11 - 18 November 2023. Fares priced on route (00615) VIA GOMSHALL will be valid on these services. This map easement applies in both directions.
The dates for these easements have passed.

Added:
701149 (Routeing Point) Customers travelling to Crosshill from Newton (Lanarkshire), Uddingston, Bellshill, Motherwell, Airbles and Blantyre, may travel via Glasgow Central. This routeing point easement applies ion both directions.
This is probably most important for Crosshill-Motherwell. For the other stations on the list, you can plan a ticket with the route Crosshill-Mount Florida-Crosshill-Glasgow Central-wherever. Mount Florida-Motherwell doesn't have a valid route via Glasgow Central, so there wouldn't have been one from Crosshill without this easement.

701150 (Fare route) Due to engineering works on 25 and 26 November and the 27 December 2023. Customers travelling on tickets priced on 00051 VIA SHENFIELD may travel on rail replacement services from Billericay. This fare route easement applies in both directions.
The line between Wickford and Shenfield is closed then, and buses are running between Wickford and Shenfield. This easement lets someone with a Chelmsford-Southend ticket simply catch a bus to Billericay and a train from there to Southend, without going near Shenfield.

Changed (added sections in red, removed ones in green):
701145 (Fare route) During engineering works on the 06 and 07; 13 and 14 January, and the 10 and 11 February 2024, when Rail replacement services will be in operation. Tickets priced on route (00430) LNER & CONNECTIONS will be valid via Grantham, Corby and Wellingborough but not Leicester. This fare route easement applies in both directions
This adds extra dates; 13th-14th January and 10th-11th February.

701146 (Fare route) Passengers travelling in either direction between Leeds or Newcastle and London with tickets on route 00076 (Via Peterborough) on 07 and 08; 13 and 14 January 2024 and the 10 and 11 February may travel via Grantham and Corby.
This also adds extra dates; 13th-14th January and 10th-11th February.
The data for the easement applies it on 6th January rather than the 8th.

Changes from 21 Nov 2023 (476) to 28 Nov 2023 (477).

Easement changes:

Added:

701151 (Fare route) During engineering work closures on 04 February 2024, customers travelling on tickets routed (00803) EVESHAM/STROUD, (00807) VIA STROUD, (00808 RDG STRD INC LDN, (00827) LONDN STRD/EVSHM. May travel via Bristol Parkway. This fare route easement applies in both directions.
The line through Stroud is due to be closed that day, so this easement enables some travellers to avoid the buses.

701152 (Routeing Point) During engineering works between 20 and 28 January 2024, customers from Nailsea and Backwell, Yatton, Worle and Weston Milton travelling to or via Reading may travel via Taunton. This routeing point easement applies in both directions.
Trains aren't running between Weston-super-Mare and Bristol Temple Meads. This easement lets some passengers travel via Weston Super Mare and Taunton rather than Bristol. The data for the easement also applies it to Weston Super Mare.

There are separate arrangements for Parson Street and Bedminster. The rail replacement buses don't call at either, but (according to gwr.com) there is ticket acceptance arranged for some buses to central Bristol.

People travelling from Highbridge & Burnham or Bridgwater do not benefit, but many tickets (including flexible tickets to London, but not Reading) are valid via Taunton anyway.

Changed (added sections in red, removed ones in green):

600076 (Circuitous Route) Customers travelling from Weston Super Mare to Slough and beyond may not travel via Taunton. This easement applies in both directions. This circuitous route easement will not apply during engineering works between 20 and 28 January 2024.
This easement would otherwise have negated some of the benefits of the easement 701152 data.

701146 (Fare route) Passengers travelling in either direction between Leeds or Newcastle and London with tickets on route 00076 (Via Peterborough) on 07 06 and 08 07; 13 and 14 January 2024 and the 10 and 11 February may travel via Grantham and Corby.
This changes the dates to match the data.

Route changes:

Changed (added sections in red, removed ones in green):

VIA HIGH WYCOMBE (00305) (3234 records)
must go via High Wycombe (HWY)
must not go via Milton Keynes Central (MKC) or Worcester Shrub Hill (WOS)
This stops "via High Wycombe" tickets from being offered with itineraries via Milton Keynes.

This stops "via High Wycombe" tickets from being offered with itineraries via Milton Keynes.
For some context, this was implemented alongside a removal of a 24-hour block on PU/PV restricted tickets being used on services that terminate at Euston in order to allow tickets routed "via High Wycombe" and "via Banbury" to be offered for some journeys via Chiltern to stations between Coventry and Birmingham New Street between Mon and Fri where they weren't before.

Interesting that the change was only applied to 00305 and not to 00267 as well.

I don't understand the context. Why was there only a 24-hour block on PU/PV restricted tickets?

It was to prevent other temporary easements allowing travel with High Wycombe/Banbury tickets on Avanti to/from London.

There was a thread on here a while back where a temporary easement was added which inadvertently made these routed tickets valid on Avanti to/from Euston.

This 24-hour block (not valid to depart/arrive at Euston at any time) in the electronic data was a backup to prevent such a situation happening again.

Thanks. I thought you meant there just a one off 24-hour block. Makes sense now.

00267 had Milton Keynes added as a barred location back in August when it was spotted that some journey planners were offering tickets routed via Banbury on Avanti services from Euston due to an easement that CrossCountry had put in place for Engineering Work on the Cherwell Valley route.

Ah cool, that already had the fix then.

Well passengers being able to use Avanti services when that wasn't the intention. If I understand correctly that is the point of this negative easement

Well it wasn't an issue recently.

As stated above:
back in August when it was spotted that some journey planners were offering tickets routed via Banbury on Avanti services from Euston due to an easement that CrossCountry had put in place for Engineering Work on the Cherwell Valley route.

Back then, yes there were a number of people who managed to grab tickets with these itineraries. I don't quite remember what happened to passengers who used them.

It wasn't really a hidden error that was just for people on RF — Trainline was just issuing them left, right and centre as they were cheapest ticket "valid" for the journey.

That is what I was wondering and you have answered it. Thanks

Some more changes were published in the routeing guide yesterday.
Changes from 28 Nov 2023 (477) to 06 Dec 2023 (478).

Easement changes:

Added:

701153 (Fare route) During engineering works on 06. 07, 13, 14, 21 January 2024 and 11 February 2024, journeys routed (00635) VIA WOKING will be valid for travel via Guildford. This fare route easement applies in both directions.
No trains are due to run through Woking (or some nearby stations) on the above dates, with the line closed as far as Andover on the 14th. This easement allows some travellers with "via Woking" tickets to avoid the buses, or at least to reduce the time spent on one.

Changed (added sections in red, removed ones in green):

700478 (Local) Customers travelling via Berwick Upon Tweed to stations Musselburgh, Wallyford, Prestonpans, Longniddry, Drem, North Berwick, East Linton and Dunbar in possession of tickets routed (00000) "Any Permitted" or (00423/00430) "EC & Connections" may double back via Edinburgh. This easement applies in both directions.
This adds East Linton to the set of stations the easement covers. East Linton is scheduled to be served by more Dunbar-Edinburgh trains than longer distance ones.

Most of the "local" destinations have some tickets from East Linton which use one of the routes in the easement, and a lot of longer distance journeys are valid via Edinburgh and Berwick anyway because of the fare check. Someone with a flexible East Linton-Billingham ticket would not benefit.

Station link changes:
Cricklewood (CRI) to Hendon (HEN) no longer has a distance of 1.86.
Drem (DRM) to Dunbar (DUN) no longer has a distance of 11.31.
There are now routes via Brent Cross West and East Linton respectively. The total distances are unchanged.

Makes sense that SWR input that easement to allow someone with a "Via Woking" ticket from Basingstoke to London to be officially allowed to go via Guildford on a diverted train via the suburban line.

Some changes to the routeing guide were published on Monday.
Changes from 06 Dec 2023 (478) to 11 Dec 2023 (479).
Easement changes:
Removed:
701143 (Fare route) During engineering works on 26 November 2023, customers travelling to or via London from Hereford, Ledbury, Colwall, Great Malvern, Malvern Link, Worcester Foregate Street, Worcester Shrub Hill, Worcestershire Parkway, Ashchurch, Cheltenham and Gloucester, on tickets priced on (00799) LONDON EVESHAM, (00803) EVESHAM/STROUD, (00805) VIA EVESHAM and (00827) LONDON STROUD/EVESHAM. May travel via Birmingham. This fare route easement applies in both directions.
701144 (Map) During engineering works on 26 November 2023, customers travelling to or via London from Hereford, Ledbury, Colwall, Great Malvern, Malvern Link, Worcester Foregate Street, Worcester Shrub Hill, Worcestershire Parkway, Ashchurch, Cheltenham and Gloucester, on tickets priced on routes (00799) LONDON EVESHAM, (00803) EVESHAM/STROUD, (00805) VIA EVESHAM and (00827) LONDON STROUD/EVESHAM. May travel via Birmingham (but not Oxford) . This map easement applies in both directions.
701147 (Fare route) During engineering works between Barking and Pitsea on the 18 and 19 November 2023, tickets priced on (00118) VIA UPMINSTER will be valid via Pitsea. This fare route easement applies in both directions,
701148 (Routeing Point) During engineering works on the 18 and 19 November 2023, journeys to West Horndon and Laindon may go via Pitsea. This routeing point easement applies in both directions
These were temporary easements which had no effect after November.

Added:
701154 (Map) During engineering closure of the Severn Tunnel on 31 December 2023 and the 28 January 2024 to 14.25 on each day. This map easement will create temporary map permissions from Bristol to Newport via Gloucester. It will apply in both directions.
The Severn Tunnel is closed for part of each day, and there are buses and diverted trains because of this.

The data for this easement adds Bristol Group, Cheltenham, Gloucester and Newport to any mapped route which can benefit from them, but only before 14:25.

701155 (Local) The Severn Tunnel will be closed on 31 December 2023 and 28 January 2024, until 14.25 on each day. Customers from Severn Tunnel Junction, Caldicot, Chepstow and Lydney travelling to Cam & Dursley, Yate, Bristol Parkway , Filton Abbeywood, Lawrence Hill, Stapleton Road and Bristol Temple Meads, or to destinations via Bristol Parkway may travel on trains via Gloucester to avoid using the rail replacement bus service. This Local easement applies in both directions.
This easement lets people travel via Gloucester on the way between Bristol and various nearby stations.

Changed (added sections in red, removed ones in green):
701146 (Fare route) Passengers travelling in either direction between Leeds or Newcastle and London with tickets on route 00076 (Via Peterborough) on 06 and 07; 13 and 14 January 2024 and the 10 and 11 February 2024 may travel via Grantham and Corby.
This just adds a year to the description. The effect is not affected.

The following post was made of 14th December 2023.

Some changes were published in the routeing guide yesterday.
Changes from 11 Dec 2023 (479) to 13 Dec 2023 (480).
Permitted Route changes:
Cheltenham Spa (CNM) to Portsmouth Group (G23) gain BL+XR+CW LG+RB lose LG+XR
Gloucester (GCR) to Portsmouth Group (G23) gain BL+XR+CW LG+RB lose LG+XR
Portsmouth Group (G23) to Swindon (SWI) gain RB lose XR+WR
These journeys now have mapped routes which go via Reading and Swanwick.

I'd say "Reading and Southampton", but you could already use that route if Crosscountry trains are diverted away from Winchester. These routes are not available for tickets to Havant, though.

In addition, the year has been corrected for one of the dates in the data for easement 701154. The end date had previously been dated last year.

Some more changes were published in the routeing guide on Wednesday. There had been an update on 19th December, but nothing actually changed then.
Changes from 19 Dec 2023 (481) to 10 Jan 2024 (482).

Permitted Route changes:
Bedford Midland (BDM) to Wokingham (WKM) gain MM+WX
As far as I can tell, this has no effect.

These only meet in London Group. LONDON was already a valid map combination for Bedford-Wokingham, and WX a valid London-Wokingham map. MI was a valid Bedford-London map, and MI and MM are identical south of Kettering. Unless there's some easement which treats the maps differently, this change does nothing.

Map changes:
LB: Gain Croydon Group to/from Three Bridges
This link has only been added to the "data" copy of the map. Making a link between Croydon and Three Bridges, omitting the intermediate routeing points of Redhill Group and Gatwick may be intended to help in some way with an upcoming line closure.

Easement changes:

Added:

701156 (Map) during engineering diversions on 20 - 21 January 2024 works customers travelling from Brighton to or beyond London may travel via East Grinstead using Rail Replacement services between Three Bridges and East Grinstead . This map easement applies in both directions
No trains are scheduled between Purley and Gatwick then, and there are buses between East Grinstead and both Gatwick and Three Bridges.

This easement seems to permit something which was allowed by the way web sites accommodate rail replacement buses. Perhaps it helps to be explicit.

701157 (Map) During service diversions on 17 February 2024, customers traveling from Brighton to destinations via central London may travel via Littlehampton and Horsham. this map easement applies in both directions.
The line between Brighton/Hove and Three Bridges is closed then, and trains between London and Brighton are being diverted via Littlehampton.

The data for this easement adds Brighton group, Littlehampton (but not Ford), Horsham and Three Bridges to mapped routes which could benefit from them, meaning that (say) a London-Lewes ticket is valid on the diverted trains.

701158 (Circuitous Route) Customers from Harringay travelling to stations up to and including Huntingdon, including stations between Alexandra Palace and Watton and Stone, may not travel via Finsbury Park. This circuitous route easement applies in both directions.
A journey via Finsbury Park was previously permitted by web sites under their interpretation of the shortest route rule. The double back didn't affect this as Harringay is one of the stations which is only considered for trains which stop there.

This change means that only the (often slower) direct trains are valid with paper tickets.

701159 (Fare route) During engineering works on the weekends of the 11-12 and 17-18 February 2024, tickets priced on (00618) VIA SALISBURY, will be valid for travel via Reading, Basingstoke and Southampton. This fare route easement applies in both directions
No trains are due through Trowbridge on those dates. This easement means someone with a Bath-Sholing ticket can avoid the replacement buses.

701160 (Fare route) Between 10 and 18 February, the route between Reading and Guildford is closed. Customers travelling with tickets priced on (00615) VIA GOMERSHALL will be valid for travel via Basingstoke. This fare route easement applies in both directions.

701161 (Fare route) Between 10 and 18 February, the route between Reading and Guildford is closed. Customers travelling with tickets priced on (00615) VIA GOMERSHALL will be valid for travel via Clapham Junction. This fare route easement applies in both directions.
There are no trains between Reading, Wokingham and Guildford over that week. These easements mean a "via Gomshall" ticket can be used via Basingstoke or Clapham Junction instead of Gomshall.

701162 (Fare route) During engineering work closure of the line south of High Wycombe all day on the 03, 04 and 11 February 2024, and until 12:00 on 18 February 2024. Customers with tickets priced on (00305) VIA HIGH WYCOMBE, (00402) AP HIGH WYCOMBE, (00362) VIA HWT & SHR, (00363) VIA HWY & BIRM and (00432) AP HWYC & SHR, will be valid on travel via Aylesbury, for rail replacement services from Aylesbury Parkway to Bicester North and Bicester Village for onward rail connections. These easement to apply in both directions
The data for this easement permits travel via Aylesbury on various dates, something which was already permitted by easement 030039. They don't need to mention Bicester because there's a bus connection involved.

701163 (Fare route) During to engineering works impacting London Marylebone on 28 January 2024, tickets priced on (00264) CHALONT & LATMR will be valid via Amersham. This fare route easement applies in both directions.
There are no trains to London Marylebone on that date, with anyone going east of Amersham or West Ruislip expected to use London Underground instead (there are a few extra buses at the start and end of the day, but that's it).

This easement means that (say) a Stoke Mandeville-London journey is still treated as going via Chalfont & Latimer, even if the web site cannot detect that the Underground service goes there.

Disappointing to see Gomershall instead of Gomshall and Watton and Stone instead of Watton-at-Stone. Obviously it doesn't have a practical effect, but it does hint as to the quality of work going on in the background.

If it is faster to travel via Finsbury Park then there really should be 'via Finsbury Park' fares in addition to 'Any Permitted', This is certainly the case for many other flows on the GN network.

The "correct" way to do this would really be to have a fake pass point at Gatwick on the rail replacement bus services, but hey ho.

They're allowed to do that?
It's certainly not plain what is and isn't "allowed" in any part of changes to permitted routes, in much the same way as fares "regulation" more widely. In England, at least, the Department is regulating and being regulated by the same people.

I hate to sound cliché, but when one's marking one's own homework, I suppose there's not an enormous incentive to be consistent (and maybe not even to use a spellchecker).

Replacement bus schedules can be booked to pass, or call unadvertised, at stations in the ordinary way a train would do, as it happens. Some TOCs schedule them like that sometimes. Presumably that requires a bit more time and care when doing the alterations, of course.

You can get trains from Finsbury Park which are non-stop to Stevenage, which can make for a far quicker journey than catching a Moorgate stopper north from Harringay.

Something I've noticed is that itineraries via Finsbury Park no longer appear on nre.co.uk if you request something like Harringay-Stevenage or Harringay-Welwyn Garden City unless you specify "via Finsbury Park" in the request. A couple of the other web sites I tried also have a blind spot here. For comparison, the TfL planner does show the fastest route with its default settings.

The following was posted on 17 January 2024.

Some changes were published to the routeing guide easements on Monday.
Changes from 10 Jan 2024 (482) to 15 Jan 2024 (483).
Easement changes:
Removed:
701150 (Fare route) Due to engineering works on 25 and 26 November and the 27 December 2023. Customers travelling on tickets priced on 00051 VIA SHENFIELD may travel on rail replacement services from Billericay. This fare route easement applies in both directions.
This was a temporary easement for dates last year.

Added:
701164 (Map) Between 10 and 18 February, the route between Reading and Guildford is closed. Customers travelling with tickets priced on (00615) VIA GOMSHALL will be valid for travel via Basingstoke and Redhill. This map easement applies in both directions.
The data for this easement add Reading Group and Basingstoke, as well as Guildford, Dorking Group and Redhill Group, to any mapped routes for someone using a "via Gomshall" ticket. I don't know who would benefit from this, but there are quite a few different "via Gomshall" tickets.

Changed (added sections in red, removed ones in green):
701156 (Map) during engineering diversions on 20 - 21 January 2024 works customers travelling from Brighton to or beyond London may travel via East Grinstead using Rail Replacement services between Three Bridges and East Grinstead . London may travel via East Grinstead on Rail Replacement Bus services or on rail services via Horsham and Epsom. This map easement applies in both directions
This adds a mapped route for the route the diverted London-Gatwick trains take (that is, London-Clapham Junction-Horsham-Three Bridges-Gatwick).

701158 (Circuitous Route) Customers from Harringay travelling to stations up to and including Huntingdon, including stations between Alexandra Palace and Watton and at Stone, may not travel via Finsbury Park. This circuitous route easement applies in both directions.
701160 (Fare route) Between 10 and 18 February, the route between Reading and Guildford is closed. Customers travelling with tickets priced on (00615) VIA GOMERSHALL GOMSHALL will be valid for travel via Basingstoke. This fare route easement applies in both directions.
701161 (Fare route) Between 10 and 18 February, the route between Reading and Guildford is closed. Customers travelling with tickets priced on (00615) VIA GOMERSHALL GOMSHALL will be valid for travel via Clapham Junction. This fare route easement applies in both directions.
701163 (Fare route) During to engineering works impacting London Marylebone on 28 January 2024, tickets priced on (00264) CHALONT CHALFONT & LATMR will be valid via Amersham. This fare route easement applies in both directions.
Correct some station names.

Easement changes:
Removed:
701163 (Fare route) During to engineering works impacting London Marylebone on 28 January 2024, tickets priced on (00264) CHALFONT & LATIMER will be valid via Amersham. This fare route easement applies in both directions.
This was a temporary easement, and the dates for it have passed.

Added:
701165 (Fare route) During engineering works between the 24 and 27 March 2024, tickets from Hereford, Ledbury, Colwall, Great Malvern, Malvern Link, Worcester Foregate Street, Worcester Shrub Hill, Worcestershire Parkway, Pershore and Evesham priced on (00799) LONDON EVESHAM, (00803) EVESHAM/STROUD, (00805) VIA EVESHAM, (00827) LONDON STRD/EVSHAM for journeys to or via London, will be valid via Birmingham New Street for journeys via Watford Junction. Or valid via Birmingham Moor Street for journeys via High Wycombe. Fares priced on (00799) and (00805) will also be valid via Bristol Parkway and Swindon. This fare route easement applies in both directions
There are no trains between Charlbury and Worcester Shrub Hill on the above dates, and there are a number of easements for it, and a number of sets of route codes they affect.

This easement permits travel via Birmingham for people with flexible tickets with "Evesham" in the route code, so long as they go somewhere near London (High Wycombe for journeys via Birmingham Moor Street or Watford Junction for ones via Birmingham New Street). If the route code doesn't include "Stroud", they are also permitted to travel via Bristol Parkway and Swindon.

The easement data doesn't mention Hereford et al, so someone travelling from Bromsgrove or Droitwich may also benefit.

701166 (Local) During engineering works between 24 t0 27 March 2024 tickets from Worcestershire Parkway, Pershore and Evesham priced on (00000) ANY PERMITTED, (00799) LONDON EVESHAM and (00805) VIA EVESHAM for journeys to or via London, will be valid via Birmingham New Street for journeys via Watford Junction. Or valid via Birmingham Moor Street for journeys via High Wycombe. Or Cheltenham Spa for journeys via Swindon. This local easement applies in both directions
This is a local easement for journeys to and from one of the above stations, which covers flexible tickets where the route code mentions "Evesham" but not "Stroud", as well as "any permitted" and (in the data) (01000). It means that (for example) a flexible Worcestershire Parkway-Appleford ticket can be used via Bristol Parkway. I don't know what effect it has when the origin and destination don't share a routeing point.

701167 (Map) During engineering between 24 and 27 March 2024, customers travelling to or via London from Hereford, Ledbury, Colwall, Great Malvern, Malvern Link, Worcester Foregate Street, Worcester Shrub Hill, Worcestershire Parkway, Pershore Evesham, on tickets priced on (00799) LONDON EVESHAM, (00803 EVESHAM/STROUD, (00805) VIA EVESHAM and (00827) LONDON STRD/EVSHAM . May travel via Birmingham and either High Wycombe or Watford Junction. This map easement applies in both directions.
The data for this easement is a bit different from the text. It adds locations to any "mapped" routes used with flexible Evesham (but not Stroud) route codes where the journey does not go via Oxford. For these it adds the points in the route Worcester-Bromsgrove-Birmingham-Warwick-South Ruislip-London Marylebone. It doesn't add Smethwick, Coventry or any points on a route via Watford Junction.

701170 (Map) During engineering works between the 24 and 27 March 2024, tickets from Worcestershire Parkway, Pershore and Evesham priced on (00000) ANY PERMITTED, (00799) LONDON EVESHAM, (00805) VIA EVESHAM and (00433) AP EVESHAM for journeys to or via London, will be valid via Yate, Cam & Dursley and Bristol Parkway for journeys via Swindon. This map easement applies in both directions
This adds points to any mapped routes from or to Evesham, Pershore or Worcestershire Parkway which go via Swindon using a ticket where the route code mentions "Evesham" but not "Stroud", or is an "any permitted" one. The data does not include (01000), but it and the text do include "AP Evesham" (which is offered for journeys between Worcestershire Parkway and various stations, mainly in SE England). It adds Worcester Shrub Hill, Cheltenham and Bristol Parkway. It doesn't add Swindon, so doesn't help someone with (say) an Evesham-Reading ticket.

701173 (Fare route) During engineering works between the 24 and 27 March 2024, tickets from Hereford, Ledbury, Colwall, Great Malvern, Malvern Link, Worcester Foregate Street, Worcester Shrub Hill, Worcestershire Parkway, priced on (00799) LONDON EVESHAM, (00433) AP EVESHAM and (00805) VIA EVESHAM, for journeys to or via London, will be valid via Stroud and Swindon. This fare route easement to apply in both directions.
This is a fare route easement which permits travel via Stroud and Swindon. Unlike the "via Bristol" route permitted by easement 700165, this does apply to "AP Evesham" advance tickets. As with all of these easements, the data does not mention London.

701168 (Fare route) On the 7th, 8th, 12th, 18th of February there will be no rail service nor rail replacement between Barking and Upminster. Tickets priced on (00118) VIA UPMINSTER, will be valid for journeys via Barking.
I could only see an amended timetable for the 18th when I looked. This easement means that (say) a Basildon-London ticket may be used via Grays on the above dates, anyway.

701169 (Fare route) Due to engineering blockades on 11, 18 and 25 February 2024, customers travelling with tickets priced on (00096) NOT VIA CARDIFF, travelling on rail replacement services, from to or via Pye Corner, may get connecting trains from Cardiff Central, This fare route easement applies in both directions.
The Ebbw Vale line is closed then, and none of the buses go to Newport. This easement means that "not via Cardiff" tickets to and from there can still be used.

701171 (Fare route) On Sundays 31 March and 07 April 2024 when the line between Westbury and Castle Cary is closed. Customers with tickets priced on (00063) VIA NEWBURY and (00494) AP NEWBURY will, be valid on journeys via Swindon. This fare route easement to apply in both directions.
Looking on nre.co.uk, I could see this diversion for a London-Trowbridge "via Newbury" ticket but not for Theale-Trowbridge.

701172 (Fare route) On Sundays 31 March and 07 April 2024 when the line between Westbury and Castle Cary is closed. Customers travelling from Pewsey, Bedwyn, Hungerford, Kintbury, Newbury, Newbury Race Course, Thatcham, Midgham, Aldermaston, and Theale with tickets priced on ((00810) NOT VIA READING, will be valid for travel via Reading. This fare route easement to apply in both directions.
This easement lets "not via Reading" tickets be used for journeys via Reading for tickets from and to stations between Theale and Pewsey. You could travel via Reading West instead, but nre.co.uk only shows this as valid for journeys from the above stations, and not ones to them.

Changed (added sections in red, removed ones in green):
701160 (Fare route) Between 10 and 18 February, On the 10th and between the 12 and 18 February, the route between Reading and Guildford is closed. Customers On these days, customers travelling with tickets priced on (00615) VIA GOMSHALL will be valid for travel via Basingstoke. This fare route easement applies in both directions.
The easement no longer applies on 11th February. The planned line closure has not changed, so this may be because the line between Weybridge and Basingstoke is also closed then.

701161 (Fare route) Between 10 and 18 February, On the 10th and between the 12 and 18 February, the route between Reading and Guildford is closed. Customers travelling with tickets priced on (00615) VIA GOMSHALL will be valid for travel via East Croydon, Clapham Junction and Basingstoke. This fare route easement applies in both directions.
The easement no longer applies on 11 February, and is only valid if you go via Basingstoke. The data is slightly different to the text. It doesn't require travel via East Croydon but instead bars travel via London. This easement could be handy for someone with a Winchester-Gatwick ticket, but there aren't many "via Gomshall" tickets for journeys west of Basingstoke.

701164 (Map) Between 10 and 18 February, On the 10th and between the 12 and 18 February, when the route between Reading and Guildford is closed. Customers travelling with tickets priced on (00615) VIA GOMSHALL will be valid for travel via Basingstoke and Redhill. And via East Croydon, Clapham Junction and Basingstoke. This map easement applies in both directions.
This no longer applies on the 11th, and only applies to "via Gomshall" tickets. The stations the data for the easement includes have been expanded (for any route which needs them). As well as Redhill-Guildford-Farnborough-Basingstoke-Reading, it now also includes Gatwick-Streatham-Clapham Junction-Woking-Basingstoke.

In addition to the above, easement 600069 no longer bars travel if you go via all of St. Pancras, Stratford and Stratford International. The text remains:

600069 (Circuitous Route) Customers travelling from or via Stratford Domestic station to or via London St Pancras may not travel via Stratford International except on tickets routed 00131 Plus High Speed. This easement applies in both directions.

The following post was made on on 10th February 2024.

Some changes were made to the routeing guide on Wednesday.
Changes from 02 Feb 2024 (484) to 07 Feb 2024 (485).
Easement changes:
Removed:
701135 (Map) Due to engineering works until noon Sunday 12 November 2023 and all day on Saturday 13 January 2024. Customers travel to Bath Spa may ravel via Bristol Temple Meads. This map easement applies in both directions
701138 (Map) During engineering work route closures between the 20th and 28th January 2024, journeys between the West Country to or via Bristol Temple Meads can be routed via Westbury and Bath Spa. This map easement applies in both directions
701139 (Doubleback) During engineering work line closures between Bristol and Weston Super Mare, on the 20th to 28th January 2024, customers may doubleback between Bristol Temple Meads and Bath Spa on journeys from, to or via Taunton.
701140 (Map) During engineering works, impacting journeys from Didcot Parkway via Swindon on the 07 and 14 January 2024, customers will be able to travel via Reading, Newbury and Westbury. This map easement will apply in both directions.
701141 (Fare route) During engineering works, impacting journeys from Didcot Parkway via Swindon on the 07 and 14 January 2024, customers with tickets priced on (00847) VIA SWINDON will be able to travel Newbury. This fare route easement will apply in both directions.
701142 (Map) During engineering works, impacting journeys from Didcot Parkway to London, on the 26 November 2023, and the 24 and 27 December 2023, travel will be valid via Oxford Parkway and High Wycombe to London Marylebone. This map easement will apply in both directions.
701154 (Map) During engineering closure of the Severn Tunnel on 31 December 2023 and the 28 January 2024 to 14.25 on each day. This map easement will create temporary map permissions from Bristol to Newport via Gloucester. It will apply in both directions.
701156 (Map) during engineering diversions on 20 - 21 January 2024 works customers travelling from Brighton to London may travel via East Grinstead on Rail Replacement Bus services or on rail services via Horsham and Epsom. This map easement applies in both directions.
These were temporary easements for whch the dates have now passed.

Added:
701174 (Map) Due to engineering closures south of Milton Keynes from 29 March 2024 to 01 April 2024. This map easement will allow journey planners to show itineraries using rail replacement services from Milton Keynes and onward train journeys from Bedford to London St Pancras International. It will apply in both directions.
There are no trains between Watford Junction and Milton Keynes over the Easter weekend. This adds London St Pancras, West Hampstead Thameslink, Bedford and Milton Keynes to any mapped route which can make use of them.

701175 (Fare route) During engineering closures south of Milton Keynes from 29 March 2024 to 01 April 2024. This fare route easement will allow tickets priced on (00403) AP CARLISLE and (00452) AWC & CONNECTIONS to be valid on services via Bedford. It will apply in both directions.
This allows someone to use an "AWC & Connections" ticket via Bedford on the above dates. This is needed because the route code is actually defined as excluding routes via Bedford (as well as Banbury, Barrow, Huddersfield and Peterborough). The "AP Carlisle" route code is, as far as I know, unused.

701176 (Fare route) During engineering closures south of Milton Keynes from 29 March 2024 to 01 April 2024 This fare route easement will permit tickets priced on (00043) AVANTI TRAINS ONLY, (00060) AVANTI & TPE ONLY, (00117) AVANTI & NTH ONLY, to use replacement services to Bedford and onward by East Midlands and Thameslink trains. It will apply in both directions.
This allows tickets with some of the Avanti-specific route codes to be used on EMR and Thameslink trains. Others (such as the one used by first class Avanti-only London-Glasgow tckets) are unaffected.

701177 (Map) On 17 and 18 February, when trains from and beyond Clapham Junction to and via Guildford are routed via Virginia Water, this map easement will create temporary permissions via Barnes and Virginia Water. It will operate in both directions.
SWR aren't going through Wimbledon on that weekend, and there are diverted trains which are non-stop between Clapham Junction and Woking. This easement adds stations to some mapped routes (specifically those which don't go through Ascot or Slough) to permit their use. The stations it adds permit routes which go via Clapham Junction, Virginia Water, Byfleet & New Haw and Woking.

Changed (added sections in red, removed ones in green):
701166 (Local) During engineering works between 24 t0 to 27 March 2024 tickets from Worcestershire Parkway, Pershore and Evesham priced on (00000) ANY PERMITTED, (00799) LONDON EVESHAM and (00805) VIA EVESHAM for journeys to or via London, will be valid via Birmingham New Street for journeys via Watford Junction. Or valid via Birmingham Moor Street for journeys via High Wycombe. Or Cheltenham Spa for journeys via Swindon. This local easement applies in both directions
This fixes a typo. It also changes one of the conditions. Instead of journeys from or to Evesham, Pershore and Worcestershire Parkway via Swindon being allowed via Cheltenham, they are now allowed via Evesham, Pershore and Worcestershire Parkway. I don't know what effect this has.

Route changes:
Changed (added sections in red, removed ones in green):
LUMO FIXED TRAIN (01435) (8 records)
may only use HX or LD
AP HULLTRNS ONLY (00475) (208 records)
may only use GN, HT, HX or ZZ
LUMO ONLY (00562) (14 records)
may only use HX or LD
This adds Heathrow Express (but not Elizabeth Line) to the list of permitting train companies.
