The S7 was doing integration testing on the District line's Wimbledon branch this weekend,I spotted one at Wimbledon Pfm 4

The original plan was for Circle and Hammersmith line T/Ops to take the trains all the way to Wembley Park. Neither the RMT nor Aslef were happy with this, so Aslef proposed an alternative which involved Met T/Ops taking over from C&H T/Ops on the Met line platforms at Baker Street. RMT are still unhappy about this however. The issue is at Baker Street, not Wembley per se. Someone appears to have forgotten to check with drivers whether they were happy to drive the extra train length of track each way.
Seriously? On what possible grounds can the union object? The original plan was for Circle and Hammersmith line T/Ops to take the trains all the way to Wembley Park. You can read the RMT's point of view on their London Calling blog: http://www.rmtlondoncalling.org.uk/node/4183Seriously? On what possible grounds can the union object?
Strewth, it's like a 1970s sitcom! Haven't they got better things to do...?You can read the RMT's point of view on their London Calling blog: http://www.rmtlondoncalling.org.uk/node/4183

And that is a problem because...?We all know if this one gets in then management will have driver changes taking place anywhere and everywhere
And that is a problem because...?
Maybe office workers aren't as well paid...Maybe certain office workers don't understand the concept of starting and finishing work at 40 miles away from each other...?
Maybe office workers aren't as well paid...
But anyway, that wasn't mentioned the article that Mojo linked to. Merely that the union is telling Circle/H&C drivers not to drive trains to Neasden Depot or on to platforms 2/3 at Baker Street.
If that's not the case, then perhaps you would care to enlighten us?
So - as far as I'm aware - the issue is about the union not wanting drivers from one line driving trains on a different line. Which hardly sounds to me like it's an "attempt to undermine jobs and conditions". And it's far from being something that "will seriously impact on passenger and staff safety".I'm a meer Engineer, I keep out of all these union things since Engineering isn't unionised... (No-one would care if all projects where a day late.)
I've been on one that didn't have Olympic maps on. Strange that there's a mix, perhaps there was a shortage? There's a few of them running around with those maps. In fact don't think I've seen one in service with a non Olympic map.
Question.
What chance is there, that all S stock can perhaps one day, be converted over to 8 car sets?
Would there be anywhere on the network, where you can not fit an 8 car set?
If so, then how easy would it be to extend the tracks at those locations?
This will occur at Paddington, Bayswater and Notting Hill Gate where the first 2 & last 2 doors will remain closed.Perhaps they could have the front, hang over the front end of the platform, to reduce the overhang at the rear?
