It's amazing to think that 21 years ago, the UK nearly grinded to a halt when the farmer's picketed the oil refineries because fuel reached £1 a litre.

Amazing. Equivalent to £1.78 a litre now, in real terms.

Meanwhile the oil price has gone off a fair bit in the last week or so, expect fuel prices to fall accordingly.

Tonight unleaded at Tesco 141.9p so undercutting ASDA. I was down to ~ 1/4 tank but £54 ..... that could well be my most expensive ever fill up. Local BP petrol 145.9p.

Just put £50 worth of unleaded in the car today at an Esso garage in Stevenage, gave me 33.6 litres in return - £1.48 point something a litre

£1.479 per litre at Bracknell Sainsbury's last night, which was better than the last time I had to fill up - ended up at the Shell garage by the Coppid Beach Hotel and they only had the "premium" £1.609 diesel available!

Today ( Monday 15th )

ASDA still 142.7 for petrol, diesel I guess 145.7

Morrisons up to 144.7 or 144.9 for petrol and 147.7 or 147.9 for diesel

BP 147.9 for petrol and 152.9 for diesel - this is literally <500m driving distance and about half that in a straight line from Morrisons !!

Edit:-
This morning ( Tuesday 16th ) ASDA increased to 144.7p for petrol and 147.7p for diesel.

My car is advised against E10, so I’ve been using E5 Vpower or BP ultimate which has remained E5.
Vpower at my local garage is 165.9p, and bp ultimate 156.9p

£143.9 at our new Shell just down the road from where we live, cheaper than any of the supermarkets in Weymouth/Dorchester!

Similarly, Harvest Energy in Studley (Worcestershire) is currently 134.9p per litre of petrol. The cheapest for getting on for 30 miles in any direction!

West Yorks, E10 144.9 this morning, same week last year at the same filling station E5 111.?,
Double whammy, last year I was averaging 57.5mpg on E5, this E10 rubbish has dropped it to 52.6mpg.

160.9p for BP Ultimate. £81 to fill my car.

Normally a full tank lasts me about a month but recently it hadn't been going as far and I've been struggling to work out why until I also realised that the drop in miles happened with E10s introduction. Having to burn more fuel to travel the same distance surely rather negates the lower emissions of E5.

I haven't yet noticed and difference myself since E10 came in. Though admittedly I've only done 250 miles since the change, and all of that in the last week or so!

Costco is the cheapest around by me at 145.9p a litre for diesel which is where I fill the van up. I always put Shell vpower in the car and that is 159.9p a litre at our local Shell

Been a penny more per litre at the very same site in recent weeks, 141.7p for petrol and 144.7p for diesel, but prices no longer changing quite so often. Have prices now started to stabilise?

Cheapest around here at the moment is Shell on Portland at £1.469.
Going farther afield interestingly both the Murco in Uplyme and the BWOC at Misterton Garage both have fuel at ~£1.449, something I did not expect deom a couple of local garages.

Gone up round here in last week, by 2p a litre. According to a report I saw it should be 10p per litre less now based on oil prices but new owners of Asda and Morrison's have decided not to lead the move to competitive lower prices as their previous owners did, so stoking inflation even more.

It’s consistently 147-150 for unleaded here in Hertfordshire and has been for weeks.

I must pay more attention. Couldn’t say how much it is here in Norwich.

Update: Just been to Sainsbury’s to shop & the petrol price sign was blank. Still no idea then.

About 145 at Sainsbury's Newhaven where I often fill up. BP premium unleaded E5 near A23 I think was about 170.
To be honest I just use the E10 now , I did go through a phase of using premium when I heard some people saying E10 got less miles in a tank, but frankly I'm not seeing any difference.

E10 unleaded petrol was 137.9 p/litre at Sainsbury's, Northwich on 2/2/22. Tesco's petrol station, next to the partially demolished Northwich railway station, was closed.

Bad news for the consumer as at least in my area ASDA used to be the leader with both increases and decreases with the other supermarkets following.
