No, although that doubtless makes a beautiful noise too. It/they is/are a very ancient organisation that is especially popular at ChristmasSo, presumably the cathedral organ.

Yes, a very ancient choir, more than a thousand years oldIf I'm right, "Spatz" is the German for sparrow. A choir, affiliated to the cathedral, who specialise in jolly, "chirpy" songs / carols ??
Thank you for your understanding in this matter. Thanks very much
I just got out my copy of the European Train Timetable 2001 (Thomas Cook), there are lots of named trains, but who (what were the people noted for) or what were these trains named after? There is usually some geographical connection too, often the train serves the place where the famous person lived
1 Elbflorenz
2 Caspar David Friedrich
3 Porta Nigra
4 Regensburger Domspatzen
5 Claus Stortebeker
6 Theodor Mommsen
7 Hans Boeckler
8 Hoellental
9 Otto Lilienthal
10 Strelasund
That's one ticked off.Anchor Pit near Brighouse? Probably the L&Y?
About 260 miles NNE of PlymouthPrison ship = Plymouth or Portsmouth?
You are right - but where?Croston is somewhere north of Liverpool, I think.
Sorry - compass points are not my strong suit. The bearing from Plymouth is about 010deg, which I think makes it North by East, approximately260 miles NNE from Plymouth: Hull, Selby, Goole?
Ten degrees east of north, you can tell I am not looking at the map I know Plymouth is about 220 miles from London, so it could be Holyhead?
You are both heading more or less in the right direction - it's a little west of Merseyside and a bit further north - think of a port which is rather remote and might be thought suitable for a prison ship.I reckon that ten degrees east of north from Plymouth takes the line through Merseyside.
That's the one - so which railway?Barrow?
Presumably the Furness. That's the one - so which railway?
Indeed it is - so that's Anchor Basin ticked off. Five more to choose from.Presumably the Furness.
Clue points to Chatham?Anchor Wharf - site of a famous ropery and spinning room, now part of a museum
