the website should have an option to filter by unit/allocations, where possible. could this be done?
Not entirely sure what you mean by filter, there is the search box or are you after something different?the website should have an option to filter by unit/allocations, where possible. could this be done?
a new box near the operator one, for example. Not entirely sure what you mean by filter, there is the search box or are you after something different?
If by this you mean filter to show only a certain class (e.g. location Plymouth, filter to show only trains allocated as HSTs), then I agree, this would be a fantastic feature!the website should have an option to filter by unit/allocations, where possible. could this be done?

I think it's been discussed earlier in this thread! When a graphic of a particular train is shown with the carriages that make up the train which end of the diagram represents the front of the train?
I assume the front of the train is on the left side? Is that correct ?
For example A--B--C--D--E
A is the first coach & E is the last. Train travelling this way <<<

I did try searching but couldn't find anythingI think it's been discussed earlier in this thread!
Thank you. Helps to know where to wait on the platform if you have a reservation.View attachment 131824
Yes, here, 158857 is in front, and 158862 is in the back.
Agree. I did try earching but no luckMay be but the thread is now on Page 54 and the discussion could be anywhere unfortunately.

I was trying to be helpful!Yes, trains are shown directionally (the leftmost carriage being the front one). Obviously there will occasionally be data issues which render this inaccurate.
The diagram will (in most cases) show the direction of the train with left being the front. In terms of lettering though it will depend on the orientation of the train. E.g. GWRs IETs Coach A is always at the standard class end of the set. When a graphic of a particular train is shown with the carriages that make up the train which end of the diagram represents the front of the train?

What happens when the train reverses ? As this one would at Sheffield if continuing to Manchester ?View attachment 131824

There are arrows on the left/right to click through the different formations on the journey if recognized with a header to say where from/to. For example on the 0955 Norwich to Liverpool today:What happens when the train reverses ? As this one would at Sheffield if continuing to Manchester ?
Really very helpful. I’d love if @Tom could maybe add a simple “FRONT” to one side and “REAR” to the other though, as I don’t always remember which side is whichThere are arrows on the left/right to click through the different formations on the journey if recognized with a header to day where from/to. Thanks for the reply, but is that just specifically for EMR?'Coach 1' should always be the leading vehicle although this is not always reflected correctly on RTT where a formation has reversed.
GWR too, SWR also, probably all of them. Thanks for the reply, but is that just specifically for EMR?
It's mainly GWR I'm talking about though, so I can track which end of a 165 is first on the Portsmouth route, and I'm sure it's letters, and it's definitely not always A leading. Definitely not.GWR too, SWR also, probably all of them.
Should be all except c2c and Chiltern, as for those the units show in numerical order, instead of the actual orderThanks for the reply, but is that just specifically for EMR?

On point (1), IIRC that's a defect in the data that's already been acknowledged earlier in the thread.I'm not sure if this has been addressed elsewhere, but why do some units have incorrect information/liveries for instance ... Not getting at anyone, RTT is an invaluable resource, I'm just curious.
No sorry, the TfW have been badly wrong for well over a year and the reason given was that they don't have time to search for photos for all the units. That's fair enough, but perhaps consider accepting formal emails from people who can confirm they've seen the trains in the livery, because at worst then that person is mistaken, but that's no worse that it being wrong which it is currently. On points (2) and (3), I'm going to take a guess at "the developers only have so much time in their days and tweaking liveries isn't at the top of their list of priorities".
I’ve noticed inaccuracies in the “pathed as” information, for example 4L92, a solid 66, is “booked” as an “electric locomotive”. Could you sort it out? There is a livery update for most TOCs scheduled this month. As with most rail related companies in our line of work, we have had a very busy last quarter of the financial year so other priorities have taken hold.
As has been stated again and again and again, this has nothing to do with RTT and everything to do with the data in the railway's own systems being wrong.I’ve noticed inaccuracies in the “pathed as” information, for example 4L92, a solid 66, is “booked” as an “electric locomotive”.
