That makes sense. Any idea when these diagrams might be confirmed? No HSTs 1st-3rd, there should be sets out on the 8th and 9th but the diagrams haven't been finalised.
Take note of ECS moves from Neville Hill. For some reason they’re starting from Shef in 2 and a half weeks time. Will send RTT link below:That makes sense. Any idea when these diagrams might be confirmed?

Excluding the last one these are only the HST's that will supposedly leave Sheffield. I could see none from Leeds but didn't do an in depth look.
Will do. I might look at catching one of these trains and will use this to make sure they are running. Thanks.Take note of ECS moves from Neville Hill. For some reason they’re starting from Shef in 2 and a half weeks time. Will send RTT link below:

I would say that, at the moment, the last day that will definitely have booked HSTs will be at 14th.So is the expectation that at least one or two HSTs will continue until 31st May - or is there a danger of them finishing before then?
Trying to work out my strategy for a final trip on a scheduled unmodified HST.
In addition to what @43 302 has just posted I made a search of RTT a few days ago.So is the expectation that at least one or two HSTs will continue until 31st May - or is there a danger of them finishing before then?

The 14th is the Friday. In addition to what @43 302 has just posted I made a search of RTT a few days ago.
There are no booked EM moves showing at all, either on or off Neville Hill, beyond Saturday 14th, which makes it highly likely any further HST use will be on an unplanned basis.
Sorry, typo fixed...The 14th is the Friday.
There are two booked diagrams currently. The 125 Groups diagrams are incorrect.Yeah, as far as I know there are no HST diagrams on Saturdays anyway.
0634 LDS STPHas anyone got the equiv of this helpful list but for sat 24 April for HSTs (ie the services running with HSTs on Sat 24 April) by any chance
Thanks - so just one out and back for each set then - no other day time runs.0634 LDS STP

What they are pathed as bears no resemblance to whether or not they will be HSTs on the day these days, best option as others have said is to look for trains to/from Neville Hill Depot in the first instance and work from there, and if there are none then it is safe to assume no HST diagrams are running. That makes sense. Any idea when these diagrams might be confirmed?

But note there are East Mids Rly ECS workings from Neville Hill Depot to Sheffield via Leeds platform 8 on that day as per example below. I guess assumption is these are HSTs though I wonder why they are running ECS that day? The only explanation that I can think of is if LNER are not running into Kings Cross but that doesn't seem to be the case. But note there are East Mids Rly ECS workings from Neville Hill Depot to Sheffield via Leeds platform 8 on that day as per example below. Seems unlikely EMR would end the service to Alfreton and Langley Mill early just to discourage enthusiats.Although the 15th is the last day of the timetable it is quite likely that there won't be any sets out. Similar how the last VP service was on a Friday to reduce the number of enthusiasts.
None of them are short formed. All three sets are formed up 2+6.Are the HSTs short formed as I saw one yesterday on the Southern section of the Midland Mainline with only 6 coaches, I thought they were 7/8 coaches?
And that it was the former GC HST sets that were 6 coaches long?
They permanently 'removed' as it were, 1 first and 1 standard class carriage from the remaining sets in IIRC, about December 2020.Are the HSTs short formed as I saw one yesterday on the Southern section of the Midland Mainline with only 6 coaches, I thought they were 7/8 coaches?

Because it is unreasonable to expect staff needing to travel passenger to spend the journey from London to Nottingham stood in a closed buffet? I know if my TOC tried that then they'd have a cancelled return working.given there is a closed up buffet space for staff to use if needed
I see. What space do staff in those circs on other services use - eg longer distance services like 158 run Liverpool - Norwich (or legs of). Do all services have reserved staff seating areas?Because it is unreasonable to expect staff needing to travel passenger to spend the journey from London to Nottingham stood in a closed buffet? Most do at the moment yes.I see. What space do staff in those circs on other services use - eg longer distance services like 158 run Liverpool - Norwich (or legs of). Do all services have reserved staff seating areas?
Thanks for explanation. Most do at the moment yes.
Ahh thanks, I hadn't really noticed the HSTs were operating with a shorter formation - I thought they were still running around as 2+7/2+8.They permanently 'removed' as it were, 1 first and 1 standard class carriage from the remaining sets in IIRC, about December 2020.
I assumed a belated attempt to scale back the costs that were being spent on bringing the ex LNER carriages back up to standard and a recognition of the reduced numbers of people travelling due to Covid meant they could be done without.
Not really clear to me why the 1st class seats in the buffet car need to be reserved for staff use (given there is a closed up buffet space for staff to use if needed), though I doubt the demand for those seats is required on most days.
