The council postage some of the changes: There will be other changes coming down the line but there not that major and mainly connected to the stagecoach services linked into the new council tenders.

Bus Service Changes - Monday 14th August

There will be bus service changes on Monday 14th August 2017. These changes will mainly have an impact on the services in Central Fife. The new timetables will be available at bus stations and online approximately 2 weeks before the changes take place.

As part of these changes I have also included a short summary of the 6 kick-start initiatives we have introduced, funded by Smarter Choices Smarter Places.

In the publications section of this page you will find a full summary of the service changes that Stagecoach are making. Please note, this summary sheet may be amended and further service updates are available via the Stagecoachwebsite. Moffat & Williamson information can be found here. Bay Travel information can be found here.

Additionally following revisions to Fife Council supported services for Mid Fife, please note that the following services will change operator:

• Service B1 – Burntisland Town Service
Currently operated by Bay Travel. This service will now be operated by Stagecoach. The route and timetable remains largely unchanged.

• Service 13 – Kirkcaldy, Dysart, West Wemyss
Currently operated by Stagecoach. Service 13 will now be operated by Bay Travel. The route remains largely the same, however there will now be school gaps in the timetable. To minimise travel disruption alternative travel is available by using services BW10 and SH5. These services will provide links to the bus station.

• Service 46 – Glenrothes, Markinch, Star, Kennoway, Leven
Currently operated by Stagecoach. This partially supported service will now be called MW4 and be operated by Moffat & Williamson. This service provides hourly links from Leven, Star of Markinch, Markinch and Glenrothes.

• Service 4 – Glenrothes hospital
Currently operated by Moffat & Williamson. This service will now be operated by Stagecoach, journeys to Glenrothes hospital will be shown on service 36 timetable.

• Service 6 Steelend – Saline – Oakley – Dunfermline – Limekilns – Crombie
This service will now be operated by Stagecoach. There will be minor timetable alterations with service extension to Rosyth in the evening and Sundays.

Fife Council Kick Start Services, funded by Smarter Choices, Smarter Places
Fife Council were successful obtaining grant funding from the Smarter Choices Smarter Places (SCSP) initiative. SCSP is a Scottish Government scheme to encourage and develop sustainable and active travel throughout communities.
Following feedback received from Local Communities and transport operators, Fife Council has introduced the kick-start journeys listed below. These kick-start projects are designed to provide short term funding with the anticipation that these journeys become commercially viable over a period of time.

• Service 18 Cowdenbeath – Auchtertool – Kirkcaldy, Bus Station, Victoria Hospital
We have added Sunday journeys to this service which will be operated by Stagecoach. Bay Travel will continue to operate the Monday to Saturday journeys. Bay Travel tickets will be accepted on the Stagecoach-operated Sunday journeys.

• Service 71: Kincardine – Crombie – Ferrytoll P&R – Inverkeithing
On this service additional journeys have been added from Kincardine to Ferrytoll Park and Ride and Inverkeithing in the morning at 0604 & 0654. Three journeys from Inverkeithing and Ferrytoll Park and Ride in the evening at 1740, 1800 & 1840. The 1740 journey operates to Cairneyhill and 1800 & 1840 journeys extend beyond Crombie to Kincardine on request.

• Service 85: Dunfermline – Duloch Park – Camdean – Rosyth Health Centre
This service will provide direct links between Duloch Park, Camdean and Rosyth Health Centre, running hourly Monday to Friday from morning until mid-afternoon.

• Service 86: Steelend – Dunfermline – Rosyth – Ferrytoll P&R
This service will provide new direct links between Saline, Steelend, Dunfermline and the Marine Harvest site in Rosyth, as well as links to Ferrytoll Park and Ride. The service runs Monday to Friday to match the Marine Harvest shift times.

• Service 47: Mountfleurie – Leven – Buckhaven
We have maintained the 0914 Mountfleurie to Leven Monday to Friday, although this journey now runs 10 minutes earlier. A new Monday to Friday journey from Mountfleurie at 0704 to Leven has also been introduced.

• Service 6: Steelend – Saline – Oakley – Dunfermline – Limekilns – Crombie
This service will be extended to Rosyth in the evenings and Sundays in an effort to provide connections with Edinburgh services.

What is the point of the 85?

I get the feeling the council can't pay for it to operate to Ferrytoll since there already operate the No89 from Duloch to Ferrytoll, plus the fact I doubt it can do that route within an hour. It will be interesting to see what way it goes from James street to Duloch.

There were a few complaints of people trying to get to Duloch from Rosyth, mind you half them wanted to go the Odean, or the Amazon. Maybe the 2A should be going to the Marine Harvest aswell?

I can only see it will go along Aberdour Rd to make it in 30 mins so it does round trip in an hour. Would Stagecoach operate the last bit commercially?

It seems your right: Not sure why there even bothering

New 86: its clear the 6 at nights will only operate one way, while the 28 has to change complement this new service
https://tis-kml-stagecoach.s3.amazonaws.com/PdfTimetables/XHAO086A.pdf

At least there can actually operate buses to meet employment shift times :roll:

Here is that new 36 which is a major improvement.

The 85 is a waste of time. Only thing I suppose it does is gives Pitreavie Castle / Sky a service again during (part) of the day.....

It's been reported the East Scotland are chasing off the ex First B7 and B9 Volvo stock with more E400 coming.

B7TLs should be seen off by the E400s currently with East Scotland.

B9TLs likely to be cascaded, but that's dependent on getting Scania E400s from Western.

One of the managers is saying the Cambridge E400 should replace all Volvo with the B9s apparently going to the East Midlands.

It's been reported Fife have now received the ex B9 coaches stock from Kent with the coaches a way in getting repaints.

Also the F59 has done a grand job, there has been NO queues NO Backlogs and no major waiting times for passengers. So its done what it was created for.

Any word where the coaches are headed for?
.

No idea, but it should be to push off the last B7. Maybe there planning on waiting on the new B11 for Glenrothes so there can do all in one fleet change over?

I believe the 85 is running around empty...funny that
No surprises, its last run is at 13.10, it no use for most people. You have to travel at 10am and come back at 1pm.. or wait for the 2A. I have no idea what the point of the service is? Answers on a postcard :lol:

Lets get this straight this bridge is 8 months LATE, yet the roadworks at the north end of the bridge are still not finished.. and may not be finished until november meaning the whole project will be around a year late in being finished...

The Queensferry Crossing will begin opening to traffic on Wednesday 30 August. From this date, there will be several openings and closures of the Queensferry Crossing and Forth Road Bridge and all our services to/from Edinburgh will be affected as follows:

Wed 30 August & Thurs 31 August - Queensferry Crossing open, Forth Road Bridge closed

All services to/from Edinburgh/Livingston (X5, X9, X51, X54, X55, X56, X58, X59, X60 and 747) will divert via the Queensferry Crossing.

To serve South Queensferry, services X51, X55, N55 and 747 will leave the Queensferry Crossing at the new Queensferry Junction and head east along Builyeon Road, stopping on request at the South Queensferry Long Crook stop before reaching the Echline Junction roundabout.

Services X55, N55 and 747 will then turn round at the roundabout and return to the new Queensferry Junction before continuing either north to Fife or south to Edinburgh.

Service X51 from Livingston will continue from Echline Junction via Tesco and Kirkliston. The stop opposite Long Crook on Builyeon Road will be served.

A map showing the stops in use can be found here.

All services are expected to suffer minor delays as a result of these diversions.

Please note that we will be unable to serve the stops at Forth Road Bridge South Access (at the old Toll Plaza), or at Forth Road Bridge North Access.

A walking route will be in place from the North Access stop to Ferrytoll P&R.

Fri 1 September to Wed 6 September - Forth Road Bridge open, Queensferry Crossing closed

All services will use normal routes and all usual stops will be served.

Delays are expected due to heavier than normal traffic in the area so please leave plenty of time for journeys during this period.

Evening of Wed 6 September until further notice - Queensferry Crossing open, Forth Road Bridge closed

All services to/from Edinburgh/Livingston (X5, X9, X51, X54, X55, X56, X58, X59, X60 and 747) will divert via the Queensferry Crossing.

Services X55 and N55 towards Edinburgh will leave the Queensferry Crossing at the new Queensferry Junction and head east along Builyeon Road to the Echline Junction, where they will continue on to serve the Forth Road Bridge South Access stop. Please note that this stop is expected to be moved as part of the ongoing works, so please be vigilant and follow signage. From the South Access stop, services X55 and N55 will follow the new public transport link road to Dalmeny and the A90.

Services X55 and N55 towards Fife will follow the new A90 to Queensferry Junction then head east along Builyeon Road to Echline Junction, again accessing the stops at Forth Road Bridge South Access. From here, services X55 and N55 will return to Echline Junction and head west along Builyeon Road to Queensferry Junction then cross the Queensferry Crossing to Ferrytoll P&R.

Service X51 will divert in both directions via the Queensferry Crossing, Queensferry Junction, Builyeon Road, Echline Junction and the South Access bus stops.

Service 747 to/from Edinburgh Airport will come off at the new Queensferry Junction and head east along Builyeon Road to Echline Junction, serving the stops at Forth Road Bridge South Access. From here, the 747 will return via Echline Junction, Builyeon Road and the Queensferry Junction to reach the A90 towards either Newbridge or Ferrytoll P&R.

A map showing the stops in use can be found here.

No buses will serve the bus stops at the Forth Road Bridge North Access, but there will again be a walking route from this point to Ferrytoll P&R.

We currently have no information on when the Forth Road Bridge will re-open for public transport use, but this will be communicated as and when available.

The above is a complete an utter joke, and since Wednesday traffic has been awful due to everyone want to cross this bridge. What might have helped if

A: There open the bus lanes which are just lying about empty.
B: Just stuck to the original Wed 30 August & Thurs 31 August idea of just doing Builyeon Road. What the point going down the bridge tolls if the bus lanes are still shut but completed? What's worse was the Ferrytoll staff keep telling driver no the bus lanes are open.

I can understand why that bridge has been shut, All those temp repairs need to be sorted out, anyone remember the truck that was blown over and crushed the central barriers? You still have to ask why are the roads also 8 months behide along with the bridge works.

Some of the Ex B9 Kent coaches are now out and about, but its still unclear what the final numbers is for each depot.

Here is the list:

X24: just incase you mist this one:
The 0348 Halbeath park & ride to Glasgow Airport journey is proposed to be withdrawn due to low passenger numbers. The 0540 Glasgow Airport to Glenrothes journey would start from Dunfermline. In response to customer requests, the 0530 St Andrews to Glenrothes Monday to Friday journey is proposed to run 10 minutes earlier to enable a connection with the 0610 service X9 departure from Glenrothes to Edinburgh.

Service 47 would be revised thus Stagecoach might become the main operator for Dunblane with a bus every hour. I bet there try and get Citylink M8 service out of Dunblane
https://tiscon-maps-stagecoachbus.s...Perth/TEMPORARY/P015 Nov17 ConsultationTT.pdf

Perth and Blairgowrie Area
* Service 1/2: City Centre – Letham & Tulloch
Proposed timetable revision only. There is no proposed change to the route or frequency.

* Service 3/3A: City Centre – Old Scone – Scone – Gannochy – City Centre
Proposed revision to route and timetable in order to serve Bowerswell Memorial Homes and Gannochy, partially replacing withdrawn service 12. Journeys operating anticlockwise via Gannochy, Scone and Old Scone are potentially renumbered to service 3A. All journeys will connect with service 14 in Perth city centre enabling through journeys across the city to/from Tesco and Dobbies/Huntingtower Park to be made without the need to change bus.

* Service 4: City Centre – Inveralmond
This service, currently operating at peak times only, is proposed to run throughout the day, 7 days a week. Journeys would run up to every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday, and hourly on Sundays, serving Dunkeld Road and Inveralmond House. Journeys running via Crieff Road to serve Perth College-UHI would be renumbered to service 4A, offering new links to Inveralmond Industrial Estate for workers and to the Highland Gateway retail park (Aldi, M&S etc).

* Service 5/6: City Centre – Craigie & Moncrieffe
The route of this service is proposed to run via Kinnoull Street, Mill Street, South Methven Street and Glasgow Road, also serving Glover Street Medical Centre. Service 5 is also proposed to serve Murray Crescent, replacing service 13. A revised timetable is proposed Monday to Saturday mostly maintaining the combined 15 min frequency. The Sunday service is proposed to be withdrawn, with Craigie and Moncrieffe served by service 56B on Sundays instead.

* Gold Service 7: Scone P&R – City Centre – Broxden P&R – Hillend – Western Edge
New Gold Service 7A: Scone P&R – City Centre – Broxden P&R – Western Edge – Hillend
This service is proposed to be significantly improved to offer increased frequencies, up to every ten minutes, and more journey opportunities. The route would be extended to Scone park & ride, providing more frequent departures for users of this facility in place of service 57, which would no longer serve the park & ride site. The route would now also serve Broxden park & ride for the first time, replacing service 301 and providing a much more frequent service, including evenings and Sundays. Journeys would operate either as service 7 via Hillend and Western Edge anticlockwise as they do currently, or as new service 7A via Western Edge and Hillend clockwise, enabling easier local journeys to be made in both directions around these residential parts of the city. The service frequency would be increased to every 10 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes in the evenings. There is no proposed change to the route around Scone or within the City Centre.

* Service 9: North Muirton – City Centre
Proposed timetable revision. There is no proposed change to the route or frequency except for minor changes to early mornings and evenings.

* Service 10/11: Murray Royal Hospital – City Centre – Letham & Burghmuir
Services 10 and 11 are proposed to be significantly revised and merged into a new service. Service 10 would run from Murray Royal Hospital via the city centre, PRI, Burghmuir, Letham and back through the city centre to Murray Royal Hospital. Service 11 would run from Murray Royal Hospital via the city centre, PRI, Letham, Burghmuir and back through the city centre to Kinnoull Hill and Murray Royal Hospital. Service number 10A would no longer be used. Journeys serving Perth Academy and Gannochy would be numbered 11A.

* Service 12: Kinnoull Hill – Murray Royal Hospital – City Centre – Letham & Burghmuir
Service proposed to be withdrawn and mostly replaced by revised services 3, 10 & 11.

* Service 13: City Centre – Craigie – PRI – Burghmuir – Perth Mart
Service proposed to be withdrawn and mostly replaced by revised services 10, 11 & 14.

* Service 14: City Centre – Burghmuir – Ruthvenfield – Almondbank & Pitcairngreen
The route of this service is proposed to operate via Burghmuir and Dobbies/Huntingtower Park, mostly replacing service 13. Journeys would continue to run hourly Monday to Saturday and two-hourly on Sundays. Monday to Saturday daytime journeys would connect with service 3/3A, enabling through journeys across the city centre to/from Scone and Gannochy to be made without having to change bus.

* Service 15: Perth – Crieff – Comrie – St Fillans
New Service 15A: Perth – Crieff – Dunblane – Stirling
The proposed new service 15 & 15A timetable provides a 30 minute frequency between Perth and Crieff during the daytime on Monday to Friday and Saturday. Service 15 journeys would continue from Crieff to Comrie and St Fillans every hour to Comrie and approximately two hourly to St Fillans; Service 15A journeys would continue from Crieff to Stirling every hour. A proposed, revised Sunday timetable is also introduced. Service number 15A would no longer be used for St Fillans journeys.

* Service 16: Perth – Inchture – Ninewells Hospital – Dundee
Some daytime journeys from Perth to Dundee are proposed to now serve Walnut Grove road end and would divert through the village for passenger alighting on request to the driver. These journeys would be renumbered to service 16A. All westbound journeys to Perth would continue to run via Walnut Grove. Sunday journeys would connect with service 14 in Perth city centre enabling through journeys to/from PRI to be made without needing to change bus.

* Service 17: Auchterarder – Dunning – Bridge of Earn – Perth
Proposed route and timetable changes. Buses to/from Aviva would run via York Place, Glasgow Road and Needless Road to Craigie Cross instead of St Leonards Bridge. Some Aviva journeys would also be retimed and would require a change of bus at Perth bus station. The route would no longer serve Gleneagles Hotel Trades Entrance but would turn left from East Hill Road down Church Road in Auchterarder.

* Service 23: Perth – Ballinluig – Aberfeldy
This service has proposed revised times. Monday to Friday and Saturday journeys would terminate at and depart from Mill Street instead of Perth bus station. Sunday journeys would continue to serve Mill Street and the bus station. Service number 23B is proposed to for journeys operating via Luncarty; 23C would be used for the Saturday evening journeys connecting Pitlochry to Birks Cinema in Aberfeldy.

* Service 24: Pitlochry – Ballinluig
This service has proposed minor timetable changes to maintain connections with revised service 23.

* Service 34: Perth – Luncarty – Stanley – Spittalfield – Blairgowrie
Proposed revised timetable, with daytime journeys no longer serving Inveralmond House but all serving Hatton Road in Luncarty. Inveralmond House would instead be served during the day by an improved service 4 but would continue being served by service 34 at peak times. Service number 34A would now be used on journeys serving Bankfoot only. Sunday journeys would operate as service 34C via Letham to/from Murray Royal Hospital.

* Service 47: Crieff – Dunblane – Stirling
Service proposed to be withdrawn and replaced by new service 15A.

* Service 51A/51B: Coupar Angus – Inchture – Walnut Grove – Perth
The majority of journeys on this tendered service are proposed to be withdrawn as a result of the new service X8 providing alternatives. In addition, the proposed revisions to service 16 provide some replacement connections between Perth and Walnut Grove. Discussions continue with Perth & Kinross Council about maintaining the original “shopper bus” element of the route.

* Service 56: Perth – Bridge of Earn – Milnathort – Kinross
Proposed revisions to timetable. Additional Saturday afternoon journey to Kinross proposed. Sunday journeys are proposed to be renumbered to service 56B and to serve Craigie and Moncrieffe.

* Service X56: Perth – Kinross – Halbeath P&R – Ferrytoll P&R – Edinburgh
Proposed revisions to timetable, with most daytime journeys no longer diverting via Bridge of Earn, reducing the off-peak journey time between the two city centres to 90 minutes off peak. Early morning and evening journeys are proposed to continue serving Bridge of Earn. In addition, the 0620 Edinburgh to Perth Monday to Friday journey and the 1840 Halbeath to Edinburgh Sunday journey are both proposed to run 5 minutes later.

* Service 57: Dundee – Blairgowrie – Perth
The proposed timetable of this service is revised to offer a better spread of departures between services 57 and 59, along with an increased Sunday frequency. Proposed journeys now run hourly on Sundays between Perth and Blairgowrie, and two-hourly between Blairgowrie and Dundee. Combined with service 59, this offers journeys between Blairgowrie and Dundee up to every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday, and hourly on Sundays, with the same frequencies between Blairgowrie and Perth. The proposed service no longer serves Scone park & ride but additionally serves Lochee High Street on southbound journeys into Dundee city centre. Journeys serving Kinrossie are proposed to be numbered 57A and journeys serving Perth College UHI are proposed to be numbered 57C.

* Services 57A & 57B: Blairgowrie Community Campus services
Services proposed to be withdrawn with service 57B fully replaced by improved service 59.

* Service 58: Blairgowrie – Guildtown – Perth
Whilst it is proposed that the commercial daytime journeys on this service be withdrawn, leaving a small number of tendered journeys, discussions with Perth & Kinross Council are continuing on possible replacement of the withdrawn journeys.

* Service 59: Blairgowrie – Coupar Angus – Dundee
The proposed timetable of this service is improved to offer more frequent journeys and a better spread of departures between services 57 & 59. The Monday to Saturday daytime frequency is proposed to improve to hourly, and a two-hourly Sunday service is proposed to be introduced. Combined with service 57, this offers journeys between Blairgowrie and Dundee up to every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday, and hourly on Sundays. In addition, the route is proposed to now serve Lochee High Street on southbound journeys into Dundee city centre.

* 60: Blairgowrie – Butterstone – Dunkeld – Aberfeldy

The 1748 Leslie to Finglassie Monday to Friday journey, and 1637, 1707 & 1737 Leslie to Finglassie Saturday journeys terminating at Cornhill Drive are proposed to extend to Foxton Drive.

* Service 42: St Andrews – Tayport – Dundee
A revised timetable is proposed, with the Monday to Saturday daytime frequency between Tayport and Dundee reduced from 15 to 20 minutes.

* Service X54: Dundee – Glenrothes – Halbeath P&R – Ferrytoll P&R – Edinburgh
The 0725 Glenrothes to Dundee Monday to Friday journey is proposed to run 5 minutes earlier. In Crossgates, this service is proposed to stop at the Main Street (British Legion) bus stop, instead of the primary school, and also serve the Hill of Beath concrete works stop.

* Service X55: Dunfermline – Rosyth – Ferrytoll P&R – Edinburgh
The 1600 Dunfermline to Edinburgh Bristo Square Monday to Friday journey is proposed to run 10 minutes earlier.

* Service 77: Dundee – Newport – Gauldry
A revised timetable is proposed at the same daytime frequency, with all journeys serving Dundee city centre. Off-peak journeys to Balmerino would now serve Gauldry Balgove Road instead and the evening timetable is proposed to be reduced. An early morning Monday to Friday journey is proposed to start from St Andrews and run via St Michaels to Wormit. On Sundays, one morning journey is proposed to start from St Andrews and an evening journey would extend to St Andrews.#

* Service 95: St Andrews – Anstruther – Leven
Route proposed to be amended to serve Waid Academy Community Centre at the request of Fife Council.

* Service 99: St Andrews – Dundee
Sunday frequency proposed to increase to every 15 minutes (99A, 99B, 99C, 99D). No proposed change to Monday to Friday or Saturday timetables.

* Service 747: Halbeath P&R – Edinburgh Airport
New early morning journeys are proposed to be added in response to high passenger demand. The Sunday timetable would be the same as Saturday, resulting in an improved Sunday morning frequency.

Hallelujah! Finally they are doing something with Perth's 15 and 47. The current 47 as a whole at the moment is something of a running joke with buses every 2 hours and only 4 buses on a Sunday. Quite confused that they are wanting to keep the 4 buses on a Sunday though when they are going to all this trouble of finally sorting it out.

Also the current 15 has warranted an increased service for god knows how long. No matter what time of the day, when the service leaves Crieff it's usually full...

The reason for the 47 staying every 2 hours is become those journeys are under contract to P&K council, plus Stagecoach also has that 19 P&K contract.

That's why now Docherty's should come in and take full sweep of the 19 and let Stagecoach run the 47 and hopefully soon to the 15A...

I think stagecoach are hoping to sweep instead and try get full control. Of course there could revised no19/20 so it connect with the 15A at Braco?

I doubt Docherty's would give up the weekday 19 easily. They run a very good service with the newest of buses...I doubt Stagecoach could follow that.

Thats the thing the bit down to Stirling is under contract aswell and If Stagecoach can make a go of it etc then there might convince the council its would be better to just to get Docherty to operate to connect.

Does the fact the 301 is being withdrawn mean there will be a big increase in fares to Broxden? Day return and monthly is a lot cheaper than standard fare at moment.

It depends if the council help pay for it, then there must still be available.

I also like how the statement say travel on the X56 will reduced to just 90mins between the cities, Which it doesn't say is that from Barton the very edge of city of Edinburgh to Perth.. All there done to help save the other 5min is reduce the waiting time at the Park n Ride from 8mins to 3mins.

It seem 8 15m B11 are due for Stagecoach East Scotland BUT only 6 NOT 8 are for Glenrothes depot for use on the X24. ( Thus all the manky and dirty coaches will leave Glenrothes) The other two are for Perth for use on Megabus work, lucky them.

I can't confirm report there may have turned up.
