Andover’s new Solo SRs, numbered 48135 to 48140, have entered the fleet while existing Tridents 19055, 18188, 18311 and 18514 have been moved to reserve for relocation.
Members of the "Stagecoach in Andover" Facebook group (can't share due to the group being private) showcases that the new Solo SRs have "Keeping Andover Connected" vinyl branding on them as they are now entering service.

I didn't see any vinyls on the trio of new ones I saw in Andover yesterday (135/138/140), unless they haven't received it yet. Looked quite nice inside

It would appear that half of Aldershot’s Stagecoach Gold E400MMCs as well as some transfers from across the company have come to provide shuttle buses for the Farnborough Airshow this week, alongside Go Ahead London’s fleet. Of those within Stagecoach fleet, the following visitors made an appearance at somepoint this week at Farnborough:

Stagecoach South East’s coastal bus route 500 has been reintroduced for the summer, running until 31 August between Ashford, Lydd and Camber Sands.

Visit Camber Sands by bus on route 500

Summer holiday fun has arrived with a new service running to Camber Sands.
Running everyday from Saturday 27th July to Saturday 31stAugust, route 500 takes you to the breathtaking rolling sand dunes of Camber.
If you’re heading down to the holiday park for a week of sea and sun or you’re on a daytrip down from London, the 500 takes you straight to Camber, connecting passengers at Ashford International Station.

What time can I catch the bus?

Whether you’re an all day, all the way beachgoer or just looking to catch the afternoon sun rays, the #500 bus departs four times a day from Ashford, with the last bus leaving Camber at 19:00.

A number of Stagecoach South’s 500-series Surrey village routes is going up for withdrawal from the end of August with the widespread introduction of Surrey County Council’s DDRT service. This comes in addition with Carlone Buses’ own 500-series routes also being withdrawn. Details are as follows: https://www.stagecoachbus.com/servi...rticle?SituationId=ID-10/05/2023-09:13:08:546

Stagecoach South’s Aldershot division is also wounding up the 412 school route to All Hallows due to its financial unviability, not least due to the immense dead running required to start or terminate buses at Bracknell. A replacement is yet to be announced: https://www.stagecoachbus.com/servi...rticle?SituationId=ID-01/07/2024-12:58:06:902

School service route 74 for Weydon School changes for the next school year, with it no longer serving Lower Bourne and extending to serve Farnham Hospital from the station via the town centre: https://www.stagecoachbus.com/servi...rticle?SituationId=ID-04/07/2024-14:37:35:821
Surrey Connect, particularly in Cranleigh, is already exceptionally busy. I'm worried about the impact the passengers from the withdrawn routes might have, I'm not sure Surrey Connect have the vehicles to handle it currently. And I understand their contract is moving to a new minibus company soon too.

Not reintroduced - it's brand new.
My apologies, I've heard conversations that Stagecoach ran open toppers in the South East area, but unsure if the 500 was a reprise of that.

In other (more accurate) news, Stagecoach South's flagship 34 and 35 routes are to face positive changes as the 34 is to have Monday-Saturday frequencies increased to 20 minutes, with revised timings and routings for the 35 to run later last buses that are extended from Mayford to Guildford. Minor timing revisions to Guildford's route 1 also mentioned: https://www.stagecoachbus.com/servi...rticle?SituationId=ID-31/07/2024-11:41:41:053

Timetable changes on Guildford routes 1, 34 & 35 from September 2024
31 Jul 2024 to 30 Sep 2024

From September 2024 we'll be adding extra buses to route 34 between Guildford, Woking, Knaphill & Camberley.
There will also be some timetable changes on route 1 (Guildford to Manor Park) and route 35 (Guildford to Woking).

You can find full details below, and timetables will be available on this page shortly, so please keep checking back.

From 1st September 2024:
1 (Guildford - Manor Park) -
timetable coming soon
Minor changes to the timetable to improve punctuality. Buses will continue to run every 15 minutes on Monday to Saturday daytimes, and half-hourly on Sundays.

503, 520, 523, 538 (Guildford & Godalming area shopper services)
These services will be withdrawn after Friday 30th August 2024. Please see separate notice here.

From 8th September 2024:
34 (Guildford - Camberley)
- timetable coming soon
The Monday to Saturday frequency will be increased, with buses running every 20 minutes during the daytime. There will be timing changes throughout the week to improve punctuality. A revised evening timetable will be introduced, with slightly later last journeys from Guildford (at 2320 to Lightwater), but slightly earlier last journeys from Camberley (at 2250 to Guildford). The Sunday service will remain half-hourly, but with extra journeys in the early morning and evening.

35 (Guildford - Woking) - timetable coming soon
The frequency will remain unchanged (broadly every 90 minutes), but a revised afternoon timetable will be introduced in response to customer requests, with slightly later last buses from both ends of the route. The afternoon short journeys between Woking and Mayford will be extended to run through to/from Guildford. The one journey in each direction which diverts to serve via Christ's College in Bellfields will now do so all year round, not just on schooldays.

Lots of changes to occur throughout the Stagecoach South network in anticipation of September changes. Increased frequencies have become the norm, though some listed have also been diverted and sections partially replaced by other routes.

One journey in each direction will divert via Farnborough 6th Form College on college days. All buses will run clockwise along Cashmere Drive, Dairy Road, Icknield Way, East Anton Farm Road, Smannell Road and Finkley Farm Road, returning to town via London Road.

Activ8 Andover & Tidworth to Salisbury

In partnership with Wiltshire Council and Salisbury Reds, we’re pleased to be adding extra buses to Activ8, our busy route between Andover, Ludgershall, Tidworth, Bulford, Amesbury and Salisbury. Buses will run every 20 minutes Monday to Saturday and every hour on Sundays. There are journeys timed for most shift changes at the Home Bargains site on Solstice Park to and from both Salisbury and Tidworth. We’ve added extra time to our timetable so we can provide a more punctual, reliable and comfortable journey.
75 Andover & Sutton Scotney to Winchester
Service 75 will replace service 85 as the Andover to Winchester service, now running every hour Monday to Saturday. Buses will run from Andover bus station and Bridge Street along London Road and the A3093 past Picket Twenty to join the A303 to Bullington Cross. From there we’ll serve Sutton Scotney and South Wonston and approach Winchester along Andover Road past Kings Barton. With extra buses early in the morning and later in the afternoon, the new 75 will greatly improve travel options for customers between Andover and Winchester. Peter Symonds College students will have new services 73 and 74, which replace current services 851 and 852.
76 Andover & Whitchurch to Basingstoke
Service 76 will run every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday and every hour on Sundays. Buses will leave Andover bus station and run direct along Northern Avenue and Churchill Way to Walworth, to reduce trip time to Basingstoke and serve customers at new bus stops adjacent to Pilgrims Way and Vigo Road. In Basingstoke, buses will serve the railway station both when arriving and leaving the bus station. A new late-night bus will run on Friday and Saturday nights, whilst buses will also run earlier and later on Sundays.
View timetable
Services 15 and 17 to Goodworth Clatford, Wherwell, Chilbolton, Abbots Ann, Middle Wallop and Over Wallop will run less frequently, to give just over 2 hours shopping time in Andover from each area. Anna Valley will be served by both 15 and 17 to offer more options for customers in this village. Unfortunately Leckford and Stockbridge will no longer be served.
View timetable
There are no changes to Hampshire County Council funded services 5 from Thruxton and 7/7A from Newbury.

1: Why aren't there any double deckers at Woking. The bridges are fine as Arriva operated DAF ALX 400's on the 34/35.
I seem to recall there was a modification made to the "Victoria Arch" railway bridge in Woking which meant that double deckers could no longer fit under it. I don't have any further details but perhaps others in the know would be able to expand on this.

I too remember when Arriva used to operate ALX 400s and Volvo Olympians on the 34/35, but that was years ago. In recent years it has been mostly Mercedes-Benz Citaros, Enviro 200s and Optare Versas.

There were no physical changes made to the 'Victoria Arch' road bridge (low height 'deckers used to use it) but a few years ago the powers that be reduced the official height limit, having said that, the road surface under the bridge at the moment is 'well worn' - well overdue re-surfacing.
If you are wondering why I mention it, well a few years ago a car transporter went under a 15ft+bridge in Guildford (i.e plenty of clearance) but the front wheels went over something in the road causing a suspension bounce and a car on top hit the bottom of the bridge
In theory there is nothing to stop 'deckers operating the 91 (they did so not too long ago) just the matter of how they get to and from Peasmarsh.
The London and South Western Railway or (I think originally the London & Southampton? railway) was one of the earliest lines built, 1830 something and most of the bridges under the railway built in that time cannot accomodate double deckers.

I believe a plan was in place to alter the roadway under the Victoria Arch, including lowering the road itself to accommodate taller vehicles. This however has been in discussion for a few years now, and I don't think works will commence for a while just yet.

It is believed that the whole scheme is cancelled or at least 'deferred' - Woking Borough Council is teetering on the edge of bankruptcy, the block of shops immediately to the south of Victoria Arch has been demolished to allow road widening/reconfiguring, I am unclear who was funding what, I imagine Network Rail must have been involved with the reconstruction of the rail overbridge element of the Victoria Arch project.
The road on the north side has been rebuilt in conjunction with the Shopping centre extension, so you have 2 lanes southbound going down to one under the bridge, albeit that a road junction/traffic lights slows things down.
Walking under the bridge is a pretty unpleasant experience, traffic fumes are bad with heavy lorries thundering past the narrow pavements.

Changes in Hastings from 1 September:
https://www.stagecoachbus.com/promos-and-offers/south-east/a-changed-bus-network-for-hastings

From Sunday 1 September there'll be a change to the bus network in Hastings. Some route numbers will change and there'll be new timetables for many of the town services. These changes will help make bus services more reliable.

Route 29 (Hastings-Tenterden) renumbered 329 and reduced to three a day on weekdays, down from the current five trips. (still 4 on Sundays)

Minor correction - renumbered 329 - there is already a 349, which is the Hastings - Bodiam - Hawkhurst service.

This has been on the cards for a little while (and earlier Kent County document suggested withdrawal north of Northiam completely) - it appears passenger usage on that "Kent" section is very low, at least compared to the partially interworked service 312 to Rye.

It has also been noted that Hastings town routes have been given 3xx numbers and no longer duplicate numbers in the Canterbury area.

Suprised this hasn't been mentioned, but Dover gained 6 new Switch / Optare Solo SRs for use on the local routes around Dover and Deal.

Numbers are 48144 and 48146-48150.
There is no 48145 for some unbeknownst reason but who knows!

Good to see the 31 will be split into two. Bolting the Harley Shute section onto the Ore service never worked, and there were entire days when the bulk of services were curtailed at the station due to poor running.

Shame that the remaining links between Stockbridge & Andover are getting the axe, I can remember when I was doing my GCSEs when it was hourly and went via the Wallops. But like the link between Winchester & Whitchurch things get cut back as the buses serving Winchester towards Sutton Scotney will go on to serve Andover rather than Whitchurch.

And just as I had finished the Andover bus network they only go and change things lol

Looks like Stagecoach South East have gained 6 (Soon to be 7) Megabus Plaxton Elite i coaches from Stagecoach Midlands. Unsure whether it's temporary or permanent but odd either way.

Someone suggested they were for a revived M2 service.

With the Winkworth Wentworth bus shuttles being covered by Stagecoach this week, three E400MMCs have come down from Lancashire to Aldershot for these shuttles, these being 11151/11152 (Morecambe) and 11644 (Preston). Andover's 48141 is also operating shuttles.
