Is it possible both units are heading down tomorrow or just the first unit to be painted?
Have you got some RTT links? I was told the one that got cancelled yesterday was actually supposed to be a 701 drag as the unit that would have been taken down was then scheduled to go on to Bournemouth though I can't validate the claim.I believe the first 458 is expected back south today/tomorrow, saw on RTT
No.Wonder if they were trying to get this first 458 down to join the Waterloo 175 celebrations today?
Possible movement coming up on Monday, a repeat of last Monday’s cancelled moves.
5Z70 from Leicester to Widnes
5Q62 from Widnes to Wembley
5Q65 from Wembley to Bournemouth
Will be interesting to see if this runs, very keen to get a proper look at a refurbished 458
The move to Widnes will only have barrier wagons which won’t have any route restrictions (Mark 1 coaches I believe) the 458 drag May have clearance and gauge issuesJust out of interest, why would first leg be a Z code, then other two Q codes. Presumably second pair won't happen without the first.
Looks like it wasn’t the best of nights for 8417 with a dragging brake reported enroute.
It was behind the train I caught at Staines, but I didn't have time to wait to see it unfortunately.5Q65 drags seems to be on hold at Woking at the moment.
Edit: now on the move
I'm sure the excuse for not dealing them was indeed that they'd be dealt with upon refurb.I did see 5Q65 pass through Staines and noticed that 458417 has been delivered with some of its windows still in their characteristic fogged up condition. I did think that maybe this long standing issue may have been addressed during its lengthy sojourn in the North, but it would appear not.
74426 is the ex Gat Ex 460 vehicle removed from 8417.Which carriage has been removed from 8417 please?
Ah, thanks! I did try to take a peek at the interior as it past earlier but was going too fast to really see through the seat covers. One of the refurbished units is currently at Southampton central. The new seats Installed are the same design as the greater angrier FLIRTs.
Thanks Rich74426 is the ex Gat Ex 460 vehicle removed from 8417.
All the converted sets have the Class 460 vehicle removed, so they go back to their original formations as they were as Class 458/0.Which carriage has been removed from 8417 please?
Thanks for thatAll the converted sets have the Class 460 vehicle removed, so they go back to their original formations as they were as Class 458/0.
This is a rubbish photo as I was in a rush, but you can see the seats there. The first class seats seem to be the exact same unfortunately74426 is the ex Gat Ex 460 vehicle removed from 8417.

Thank you so much for taking and sharing photos. Did you see if the number was as reported 458417?This is a rubbish photo as I was in a rush, but you can see the seats there. The first class seats seem to be the exact same unfortunately
Cheers! I thought the Grammer IC3000 were still in when it went past earlier. So we now have a situation where Standard Class really is more luxurious than First Class (though it was never difficult in the 458s).This is a rubbish photo as I was in a rush, but you can see the seats there. Yep, the unit number was 458417Thank you so much for taking and sharing photos. Did you see if the number was as reported 458417?
