Maybe but if SWR tell the mandarins the 701 issue was going to be fixed without telling them what the risk might be if its not so no arrangements made to do C4's. If things continue to deteriorate with no sign of progress then they will have to authorise a limited number otherwise they will have a political storm if services get hacked back further.

The DFT's focus is on the Midlands and North. Treasury is focused on extracting as much cash from the south to cover costs.

In this effort to please Red Wall voters, it feels that the south east in particular is being put to the sword as a show of conviction. While no one denies the rail infrastructure in the North and Midlands needs a lot of investment, the South East has the highest passengers per mile figures so why turn your back on decades of progress, and very good progress by SWT to improve their services and encourage people to travel by train. The thought of a crowded 5 coach train in the morning does not make me want to jump on a train.

This is biased rubbish. The rail infrastructure in northern England is appalling and has been neglected for many years. It has nothing to do with red wall voting. If you lived up here and used the rail network and then used London based services you would realise this.

Believe it was 8512 that ran ECS in the hour I was away from Clapham Junction. 8535 was still in it's usual position adjacent to the Richmond line.

Possible, tracked it on RTT from it's morning services. Seems to have detached from 450019 at Waterloo just after midnight today (450019 now coupled to 450085 on Portsmouth Harbour - London Waterloo). 120 has been operating as a single unit on Portsmouth & suburban London services today. Not good during peak times

Hello. A significant chunk of the SWR Metro fleet are no longer operational, and it's becoming quite difficult to keep track of the withdrawals. Therefore, I've compiled a list, which I will try and update regularly of the SWR Metro fleet status. Please do let me know if any of this changes. The majority of information has been sourced from various threads such as Class 455 Status, Class 701 Introduction and Class 458 Refurbishment and Redeployment.

Please do let me know if any changes occur. I hope the 701s enter service soon, as with all the withdrawals it looks like SWR might face a bit of a rolling stock shortage at some point. Most of the Windsor and Weybridge services are already now majority 8 car vice 10, and I've been seeing a lot of solo 458 and 707s too.

At present, 0x Class 701 Arterio trains are operational with SWR.

Some SWR Metro services are also operated by Class 450 Desiro which will not be withdrawn, but are planned to be removed from Metro routes in due course.

458505,522

I am no expert, but over a month out of use may be due to a longer term problem rather than routine maintenance/exams?

Mostly based in Wimbledon Park with the odd splattering in Clapham Yard. 8504 & 5740 are definitely down in the park tucked away noted them recently while going to pick a train up from the graveyard side of the depot.
