I had my first experience on one of the villager routes today (Derby-Burton) with 302 doing the honours. I must say I was always a fan of the Volvos but these ADLs aren’t bad (yet. They handle the bumps brilliantly and are slow pulling off but I think that’s just an ADL thing.

It’ll be a shame to see them rattling away in a months time.

Talking of fires and Derby bus station. It would seem that the toilets have been set on fire TWICE in recent weeks. They had only just reopened when it happened again. Maybe someone who does like paying 50p.
While i'd never condone arson the toilets really should be free. They are in London's bus and train stations, and just up the road in Leicester.

I always enjoy something different, although I heard plenty of whining pensioners!

I was on Stagecoach Yorkshire's 26085 with my pal yesterday, the rattles are real.

I'd be happy with 20p, that's how much they are elsewhere. In derby, you can just walk around the corner to the Derbion and "relieve yourself" free of charge.

It makes me chuckle that someone paid 50p to light them on fire, must be committed!

It wasn't always the case at London railway stations. I did wonder if the charge helped keep them in better shape. You have to wonder though, if charging for the loo affects bus usage. Many people go , before they get on. Okay, some use the bus instead, meaning it has to be taken off for cleaning. I guess that is free wee fi.

What stunned me, was that in 2024, they refurbished the toilets and you can't pay by contactless payment. Odd the were not set on fire when they were free (but were vandalised). Not a place to hang around.

Re the diversion. I was in a First bus 120K on diversion in Sheffield. My how the old dears went on about the diversion cos it missed where they wanted to go . A raid was closed for a few hours due to a serious RTA. The bus can't get through. Doh.

I'm fairly sure they've got someone stood there constantly to make sure people are paying and not vaulting the barrier, which paying said "security guard" must cost so much more than is earned from charging for the toilet!

Yes, but said Security guard doesn't have to walk far to check all the bus station now. I rarely see anyone go into those toilets now.

I still need to get photographs of so many Notts + Derby vehicles (literally all of their fleet besides 16, 271 and 485, as well as a couple Trentbarton Derby vehicles). I don't feel comfortable taking photos of school runs.

How do the Meadow Road staff feel about enthusiasts standing near/outside the depot to take photos? I don't want to do anything that might upset someone!

Never had a problem outside the depot . If you were there, say 14.15 onwards, it can be like the Wacky Races. Bear in mind though, several buses stay at JCB parking site during the day.

As long as you dont walk into the depot itself like the yard or any of the buildings you will be fine so poking your camera through the fence is all good :)

They can’t really do anything either way it’s public properly.

I’ve gotten most the photos I have from download, everything & anything is used so it’s a good time to tick off the fleet.

You can get decent photos from the footpath on Holmes Bridge which overlooks the trentbarton depot

I went up there with a mate a few months back and they were very welcoming. They even got some buses out just to show us! You might get lucky like we did.
Standing out on the public pavement is fine, they just don't want people walking on the garage apron.

Good job they don't have the 4 cylinder engine then, if they are slow to pull off . So you say you don't want to damage them just yet. Give it a week then.

its a weird thing built into MMCs to stop you pulling away quickly for passenger comfort if i remeber correctly. Dont worry another driver on the road will put an end to that lol

ah yes the door delay, slightly annoying for you drivers, considering each time you've got to press the brakes.

also noticed they now have a secret button, heard a few having honking fits in the bus station when drivers have forgotten to press said button :D

saw 307 this evening in derby (ilkeston flyer ADL) i will admit the gold branding will certainly take some getting used to.

The most annyoing thing is at roundabout when you need a quick get away or at some junctions kinda makes you look stupid lol

The eight Ilkeston Flyer vehicles have appeared on Bustimes.org.

The final two appear to not follow alphabetical reg order properly, presumably because two "spare" vehicles from the order were drafted in as Ilkeston Flyer due to the recent service changes requiring more vehicles.

One of the new Mickleover vehicles wears plate YY24 HCA as seen here. Maybe I'm just a neat freak but this annoys me!

Yeah not entirely sure why, was thinking the ADLs may have been in service today but no.

I’m glad they’re not as it gives me chance to ride all the Volvos.

Does anyone know what 469 is? Currently tracking on V3. Another loanee solo?
Its 471 again mate tried to change but the TM said no apprently when i asked

I would think the ADLs won't come online til the timetable change on the 14th

Yea those last 2 were meant to the Langley Mills spare ADLs but with the timetable increase the plan had to change
