By my reckoning that puts the Mickleover batch as 314-319 and H1 as 320-325
You mean like Mickleover Enviros 314 to 319 (YY24 HCA/HCC to HCG), H1 320 to 325 (YY24 HCA/HCJ to HCL/HCN/HCO and spares 326 to 329 (YY24 GZV/GZW/GZX and probably GZZ

YY24 HCA is definitely a Mickleover bus. BusListsOnTheWeb suggests that there are now 31 buses on order rather than the original 29, meaning the extra two Ilkeston Flyer buses were last-minute additions to the order, especially given that their plates are the last in alphabetical order.
My projection, as stated earlier, is as follows:
Mickleover: 314-319 (YY24 HCA/C/D/E/F/G)
H1: 320-325 (YY24 HCH/J/K/L/N/O)
Spares: 326-331 (YY24 GZF/G/H/V/W/X)

Sure YY24 GZV and GZG are a different variation of chassis, certainly with a different last part of the number. And they are registered as white, whereas no other Trentbarton bus has been. I'd need to look again, but I doubt GZH is TB either.

Sorry I meant GZF not being Trentbarton

Waiting for a bus this evening on Friar Lane, Nottingham in the rather unpleasant (Summer?) weather, it got me wondering:
Do Trentbarton provide any facilities of any description at that location for their drivers who are changing or taking up duties or do they just have to hang around in shop doorways until the incoming service arrives?
I think they use the old TrentBarton shop on Maid Marion Way.

I was almost going to ask if it was electric until I did a double-take at the number plate! Apparently there isn't a diesel version anyway, unlike its shorter sibling, the GT12, which is diesel only!
I wondered who would spot that green patch on the registration plate

The door looks rather narrow, is it fully compliant with what's required in the UK?

Adding onto the "Wheelchair lifts on coaches - front versus central door" thread, is there a reason Trentbarton insist on using coaches for the Red Arrow vs a standard low entry bus?

Surely it'd be more appropriate to use spec'd out Volvo B8 Evoras or something? Coaches aren't suited to the route, proved by the unreliability of the coaches. I know Trentbarton themselves have a vendetta against double deckers, but even Enviro400 MMCs with coach seating (similar to Stagecoach Yorkshire's X17 vehicles) would work.

This conversation has happened several times before, how long until they realise it's probably better to brand up some cascaded Volvo B7RLEs for the route; they'd be more reliable!

The electric Yutong demo is currently operating in service on the Red Arrow. Here it was half an hour ago heading towards Derby.

I’ve always wondered why is this?
A former MD (Alex Hornby?) said that they didn’t operate any double deckers because their passenger feedback suggested passengers liked being able to see their drivers or something. Since then it often comes up in discussions, but personally being honest, I don’t really buy into it that much. Yes, it is something he/the company said, but to me it just seemed like nice spin as much as anything else. If I ran a bus company that didn’t really need double deckers and an interviewer asked me about double deckers, why would I give the boring answer of ‘we don’t really need them, they don’t suit our current operations’ when I could use it as an oppurtunity to differentiate ourselves from the competition. I’m sure they did something similar in coming out against safety screens protecting the drivers cab

Can somebody explain why my Auntie cannot use her concession bus pass on Red Arrow from Derby but she can on Indigo?
Ah well. When Councils such as Derby and Nottingham wanted to cut back on spending, they chose not to fund ENCTS passholders travel on the Red Arrow as it was seen as an express service. If Banwait (Derby City) had had his way, it is likely that the X38 might also have had a restriction.

I thought councils had to pay bus operators for all concessions on registered local bus services.
