Yes, 16th and 17th November, but it doesn't run on Sundays. I've seen the ENCTS Vectare breadvan special arrive in Derby about 10.00 quite heavily loaded, even a standing load.
Yeah, the centro that was on it this morning (the 9am run from bus station to chad, 9.12 back to the bus station) was quite heavily loaded. Most of the people who did actually get on were from the central connect part and a caused a good part of the bus was full.

You could imagine passengers taking advantage of a service and not having to pay their £2 fare, especially those with an ENCTS pass.

Years ago, there were services along Havenbaulk Lane. Derby City Transport route 30?

FullSizeRender.jpeg
Effectively one bus will start in Highfields then run to Heatherton, then Littleover Village, then Manor Road to Royal then Mickleover (Tesco) then Station Road then Langley Park then through to Henley Green, Kingsway, Royal, Mickleover Tesco, Havenbaulk Lane to Highfields....

Link 2 Timetable

The timetables for the Link 2 (Mickleover/Mackworth) and the REVISED Royal service are now on the Derbyshire CC website. The Royal loops to serve Derby Railway Station on the way to the Florence Nightingale and runs every 15 minutes

Wow, quite a few changes for the hospital. Unsurprising that the royal has increased frequency in my opinion. Whenever i see a centro roll through saint peters street/London road they always seem too look quite full.

Surely it'd make more sense to combine the Royal and these, and have RD1 as the Royal Derby combined with link 1, and RD2 as the Royal combined with link 2? That'd make them all a lot more useful to everyone, as people everywhere on the routes could get to the city, the hospital, and the station.

I really hope they aren't over-extending themselves with these routes and the 147/8. With the X38 improvements, does Derby depot have enough drivers, buses and actual space to be able to run a full service? After all there's only so many Solo's N+D can nick from Trent!

Well a small e200 cant take up too much space ;)
Notts and derby also have their own drivers separate from trents derby depot drivers so drivers wise it should be fine, especially since link 1/2 run only through the week so if needs be they can get one from the school runs to go onto the link routes

Royal tends to have quite large busses on. From the looks the link routes are going to be quite tight so capacity wise it wouldn't make sense

Well we have Trentbarton and Notts and Derby covered in that comment. Trentbarton Derby still seem to have TM Travel drivers helping out until at least Christmas. Not sure if the agency and Kinchbus ones are still there. I suspect there is enough buses, especially if maintenance can keep them on the road. One benefit Notts and Derby have is that some of the fleet are only needed at peak. Actual space? Ah well, Meadow Road can be a little cosy. In the early morning, buses get parked in the road outside, just to get others out. At some point, maybe the land Wellglade own in Stores Road will be used. (If the cars and vans ever get sold) . If you can't get buses off Trentbarton, you buy your own. Notts and Derby latest addition shown in picture.

I disagree about combining the two routes (I say two, because it looks like Link 1 and Link 2 should be able to be run with one bus).. It seems only yesterday, that Trentbarton passed the Royal route to Notts and Derby because they couldn't make a profit. N&D have built it up and Centros and sometimes double deckers are the norm, rather than Solos. I've been to the Royal a few times recently and as I came out, the Royal bus was there. Absolute no brainer, I'd catch it.. It was there, and rather that walk across the road to the other bus stop to catch Trentbarton or Arriva or even the same Royal bus I'd walked past, I just catch it. Seen loads of up to 30 passengers outside peak times. It is reliable, so best not to mess with it. Ideal time to enhance Royal services with the big car park closed for up to 2 years.

So are the link routes mostly about linking to the Royal Derby hospital, or linking to the Royal Derby bus for onward travel? Are they arranging the timetable for easy changing of buses at the hospital?

As I see the Link services they connect housing estates to the Royal Hospital and to some extent you might think Tesco at Mickleover and maybe even the Kingsway Retail Park (although it might be a while before you get the next bus to get you to where you got on. The routing suggests it will use the same bus stop as the Royal at the hospital.... Maybe in time, people might get transfer tickets between the two. In terms of the Link , it certainly seems to have value getting people to work without the use of a car or taxi from certain areas. You could I guess , change at the Royal for the X38 to Burton.

Do we know what sort buses will run it? I'm assuming E200s/solos

Also do we know what's happening to 272/4/6 with kinch at the moment? will they eventually return to TM and are they plans to buy them as correct me if wrong but they are leased or would they even consider buying them for kinch use as trent/kinch normally only use there own brough buses not second hand ect?

I'd suspect the Royal will go to four Centros (currently two) and the Link, maybe one Solo or the recent Enviro 200.

Connect branded solo 486 seems to have moved to meadow road
Solo 486 had it's MOT at Derby today.

The new Link routes serve a number of roads that don't currently have buses (although most of those did in the past, the stops have been removed) - hopefully new stop flags can be put up before the services start to encourage people to use them.

It would be good to see a combined ticket for these routes and the Royal Derby (maybe even the Mickleover as well) to encourage journeys from the city. I know that Mango tickets are valid on the Royal Derby but are they also valid on other Notts & Derby services? (and ZigZags?) There is nothing about fares on the N&D website, Trent's website doesn't mention N&D at all except for the Royal Derby as far as I can see.

I assume these bus stop flags are Kinchbus's doing. Whoever wrote the names of these stops needs to go back to school... thankfully both these stops are right outside schools!
On the 127 this morning I noticed that the flag for the Quorndon Fox stop was misspelled... this evening, I found that the Loughborough Grammar School stop was also misspelled!

Normally it is the Centros or a Versa. The Deckers normally come to play in the school holidays most likely just to keep them running.

Yes, even the Unibus ones make an appearance. I wish it well.

Just out curiosity does anyone know if there's anything planned for kinch to get rid its last remaining citaro (906) as its MOT is due soon (16 November 2024) because they have been replacing all the others upto now with most recent replaced citaro going as soon as its MOT ran out or is it planned to be renewed a bit longer.
Also found it interesting when looking at the government mot check on 906 saying it's a brown bus instead blue/yellow or multicolor

I've heard it'll be withdrawn upon expiry, but as always a small chance it could be renewed.

Can't say it's been brown before but it was black when new, photo below.
