Any noticeable improvements?
Depends what you consider an improvement. .The road width to the right seems wider. The potholes have gone. More fencing to deter jaywalkers. Picture of new Alfreton bus station taken today. Note some buses now use different stands.

Mellor have gone under so we won't see any anywhere! Hopefully they go for Yutong as I personally see higher quality from them compared to BYD
Enviro100? They look alright to be fair, and ADL might do them a deal since they've bought so many over the last 8 years.

Yutong E9s would be perfect for sprint as they're about the same width as the slimline Solos currently in use and the dual doors would help with speedy loading/unloading.

I couldn't see them getting or needing dual door, would just lead to people fare dodging. Id assume they would rather a little longer loading and unloading than having to deal with fare dodgers

When British built vehicles are as high quality as their overseas counterparts, operators will be more willing to opt for them.

Quite frankly, Yutong offer a better product than ADL.
I agree, drivers I sometimes chat to say that there is constant rattling towards the front of the bus in some of the earlier MMCs.

It's a downward spiral.
If ADL/Wrightbus don't generate desirable profits (by getting many orders), shareholders will be reluctant to invest in the product (to improve it), and their product will remain inferior.

On a different note, Rolls-Royce got a new CEO and is taking the company on a 'transformation' to make it an "investment worthy" company. I've seen a lot from the new CEO but generally the idea is the company needs to generate a competitive ROI to attract more investment. How do you expect the UK manufacturers to make a better product if the operators buy aa Chinese product instead?

Yes, it seems to happen to every forward looking company. Less sales, less ambition.

Do the UK make any good enough vehicles, let alone buses!?
Lol, think Aston Martin is the last remaining UK company building cars here, which seem pretty good.
But like with every company nowadays, the majority shareholder of Aston martin is an Middle Eastern investment funds.

Looking at the shareholders of public companies is an interesting rabbit hole to go down. Seems as a lot of profits are going back to the Middle East.

And Enviro 200MMCs 273/274 seem to have gone from TM Travel to Kinchbus, leaving just 275 at TM.

Do Wrightbus offer a small enough electric bus? Currently slimline Solos on the LB Uni service.
Good point, don't think they do.

As others have said, the Yutong E9 would be ideal for the Sprint. The ones with Centrebus at Leicester seem to be very popular and reliable. It would be nice to dream about a similar product made in the UK but both ADL and Wright seem sadly lacking.

Mini still builds cars in Oxford, if I'm not mistaken.

They could just have a pair of dual-doored buses to use on the campus shuttle.

Well I mean if production is mostly in the UK, it’s better than having no production in the UK.
At the rate they are going, many car factories will close in Germany. Maybe that will mean more people use public transport

Mickleover Enviro 200MMC got towed away from Meadow Road depot this morning for repair. Looks like the car that rammed the rear end of it had been extracted.

My picture, not the best but you get the idea.
Does it cost money to apply the “sorry about my appearance” to the buses, or are the stickers kept in storage? If so, surely it would be easierjust to remove the branding and leave it like that. Please correct me if I am wrong.
