I saw 906 parked in Derby Bus Station yesterday..

Just checked again.. Citaro 906 should have worked the 08.35 from Derby to Leicester, but never left. When I saw it, it must have been waiting for recovery.
Quite bad really, can barely do one run without needing recovery

There is photographic evidence that Volvo 726 has been repainted in what looks to be the Keyworth livery. What's going on with 101-4 then?

726 is joining 101-4 as it's going back to every 15 mins. Why they didn't just keep an existing Keyworth though is beyond me

May not make financial sence to repaint another volvo when it's not needed however it could be so it frees up a whole batch of volvos for something else from 727 to 734 so whatever they end up next, they will be all together?

Probably so they can end up on ilkeston network. Ilkeston network requires 8 and 727 - 734 is 8 so it makes the most sense.

But there's already plenty of Solos/Versas/Volvos to run these. What'd be the point? Maybe they could go to TM?
I thought the plan was to remove the Solos from the fleet and replace them with former Threes Versas . Maybe the Volvos could "upgrade" the Calverton.

They supposedly want the solos/sr's gone. In my opinion they are too small for the route at times anyway. Fairly sure the versas struggle with some parts of the routes so to have them on the route full time would be an inconvenience to the drivers, plus theres not enough to replace the solos, especially since alot of the time they aren't even on network often appearing on my15 and the two.

But maybe, before long they will get those that went to TM Travel; well the non compliant ones. Could see Notts and Derby hoovering up the beter examples.

I didn't even know derby depot had even 1 charging point. would seem stupid if they are currently converting one with nowhere to charge
Doubt it does. Can always plug it into a wall like a car. Im assuming thats what they did with the coach demo along with what kinchbus did with the E9 demo.

Apparently they are only converting it since because it doesn't want to run a full day might as well take the part which doesn't want to work (the engine) and replace it with something different. It being ex hybrid no doubt the convert to full deisel made something go wrong. Hopefully a battery will change it and actaully do work for the company.

The Calverton already has Volvos, so replacing them with more Volvos that are no newer seems quite daft. But then again, some of Trentbarton's decisions with regards to repainting and refurbishing buses beggars belief.

In other news, Bustimes suggests that Skylink 151 has finally re-entered service as of yesterday.

Believe the extra bus on keyworths is being funded by bus service improvement plan money, so the frequency may be reduced again if it's not viable long term long term.

Yes, but surely they are updating the X38 with older Volvos too.

Anways, how are the X38 refurbs getting along? Anyone know?
Apparently they are done and ready for service in January time. But thats a rumor I heard so im not 100%. Fairly sure the x38s are the priority over the likes of keyworth and other repaints (like 703)

Makes sense, the full refurb should also improve reliability since they are 58 plates and would have racked up a bit of mileage.

Can't wait for the classic Arriva tactic of offering 'special ticket prices' for the X38 to get customers on their service once they realise they are struggling to compete, a joke really.

Yeah, the current x38s have had a few problems recently (but most of the volvos around the company have) and considering they had a small makeover of the ex h1s and the original x38s haven't had anything done to them its unsurprising.

Yeah, arrivas network is quite small so their tickets aren't really for everyone and i often find them overpriced for myself. I'm unsure about if arriva are doing £3 fare but trents social media team have said they are (not an offical announcement though just a reply to someones comment asking about it).

I mean.. you could say they have been already, with their £3.50 X38 day ticket.. still not sure if that's running or not because when I last saw the stickers it said it was running only until the end of October..

I wonder if they plan on making any official announcements on it as they are leaving it till last minute.

Also just thought that means the rushcliffe villager and harlequin are due replacements soon so I wonder what they will get unless they wait a few more years and get something like the yutong E9L or E100MMCev unless they wait a few years till the my15/sixes or a few of the spares needs replacing and getting old versas who knows.

Not been derby in a while is trents x38 getting decent loadings on board compared to arrivas?

When the £3 fare comes in, it will be interesting to see what happens to those fares currently between £2 and £3.
