No, its a heat thing. London busses tend not to do it as well. White deflects heat which can be a big help in the summer. Not like people see up thereTB no longer painting tops of buses to save on cash?

The first batch (101 -108) didnt have them, fairly sure the rest do from what i recallI thought all the E200's had skylights. The ex Mickleover ones don't seem to have them in the photo.
To add to this, the ex threes versas are still having their roofs painted red. So it seems to only really be something which is done on new orders, so wouldnt save that much money id thinkTB no longer painting tops of buses to save on cash?

Although some indigos and i4s are based at derby as a outstation but I would assume they sometimes would take other depots buses to fix if there closer.I have also seen i4, Indigo and Nines Enviros on the pits at Meadow Road. On the one hand it is a fair way to send a van from a faraway depot, but sending the local van stops them doing planned working their own fleet.
Thinking about my15s going airport, why isn't the my15 'airport spec' with luggage rails as it connects the airport like the skylink or is it because it's to be expected alot of people comming of flights won't use the 15 as it is not a major route as in don't go Derby/Leicester/Nottingham like the skylinkSometimes red arrow coaches come off route in nottingham and head to nottingham depot, so id assume the nearest depot van, same with my15s from ema going to kinchbus depot. I'd assume it would depend on whos available to go out to a vehicle too.
As far as I'm aware i could be wrong, but I dont think that will be a problem as i would expect them to be using B2/B5/mabey B10 mixes or some similar which acts similar to conventional diesel. However the more biodiesel there is it tends to become like gel and clog up so for example B5 is better than B10 but again what temprature it freezes at also depends on what oils are in the fuel however I think it's possible to put additives in and use fuels that are processed different such as crystising the fuel to separate higher melting elements so say if B100 was used although I highly doubt it be 100% oil 0% diesel you could potentially run higher bio fuels like B10 B20 if additives are added and processes are implemented making it winter grade.Trentbarton use bio diesel. Presume there is also a winter grade.

Are these not going TM then I mean I haven't checked but I assume they don't meet emissions for sheffieldSkylink scanias 662 and 663 have been withdrawn just leaves 669 left at Nottingham that will be withdrawn once 712 comes back from paint
With my15 mainly serving Sawley primarily and serving the airport as part of the extended route I'd assume there isn't enough passengers who would require luggage racks...and if they did they wouldn't really effect anyone since not many people are continuing all the way to the airport. When I get my15 to the airport or from, usually there's very few people around castle Donnington, especially when it's not peak flying season. The other week I was the only person on from east midlands airport till castle Donnington bus station. Alot of the time passengers who are going airport bound are going to the aldi distribution center. Mainly just passengers who wouldn't benefit from the removal of seats in aid of luggage racksThinking about my15s going airport, why isn't the my15 'airport spec' with luggage rails as it connects the airport like the skylink or is it because it's to be expected alot of people comming of flights won't use the 15 as it is not a major route as in don't go Derby/Leicester/Nottingham like the skylink
662/3 are E6, 669 isn't. Apparently they are but then it's said that 663s had parts removed and put on the trainers. So to me it doesn't make sense however time will tellAre these not going TM then I mean I haven't checked but I assume they don't meet emissions for sheffield
Depends the route really. Was once stuck in heavy traffic on a skylink nottingham, all the windows were open (no air flowing since we werent really moving) and it was sweltering in the bus. They obviously have painted roofs. Don't really have an example on the newer busses but having traveled on them a fair few times they definitely feel cooler. To be fair I've never noticed it now being white or haven't being paying much attention
Is 669 really not Euro 6? It's a requirement in Nottingham isn't it?662/3 are E6, 669 isn't.
No, quite a few vehicles that trent operate in notts are not e6Is 669 really not Euro 6? It's a requirement in Nottingham isn't it?
But most will have had the exhaust modifications to comply with the emission standards required. No, quite a few vehicles that trent operate in notts are not e6
I suspect the vast majority of passengers would rather it was Arriva who came of the X38.Perhaps they could help themselves, and many passengers, by coming off the X38.
Not if they want to ensure that their bus turns up!.I suspect the vast majority of passengers would rather it was Arriva who came of the X38.
I’d be surprised given how ‘well’ Trent Barton seemed to resource their share previously.I suspect the vast majority of passengers would rather it was Arriva who came of the X38.
From.what I hear, Arriva are doing fine on the X38. I guess it will all come down to who makes the most profit, or loses the least.I’d be surprised given how ‘well’ Trent Barton seemed to resource their share previously.
By then, 101 to 104 and 726 might be out . Well 6th FebruarySutton based vehicle 850 has transferred to Manvers St, covering for the Solars, left Broad Marsh on The Keyworth at around 11:26.
I'm assuming this is temporary, and will be swapped for 712 later this month?
6th February anything confirmed?By then, 101 to 104 and 726 might be out . Well 6th February
Wonder if the ex Ilkeston Flyers will make it onto the X38 that day as well.Believe the timetable change for Keyworths is on Sunday 2nd February. That will see 101-4 and 726 enter service on the route.
Bsip funds the extra bus to allow a 15 minute daytime frequency with extra running time/layover to improve reliability. I assume if it works out not to be viable longer term it will be back to every 20 minutes with 4 buses.
Is more than one painted for X38?Wonder if the ex Ilkeston Flyers will make it onto the X38 that day as well.
YesIs more than one painted for X38?
Re x38, I've heard they are being fitted with 2+1 seating, like the villager Darts were once upon a time. Imagine that on there now.
So many people these days, seem to claim they don't like sitting next to another person, so maybe it will appeal to such passengers.Re x38, I've heard they are being fitted with 2+1 seating, like the villager Darts were once upon a time. Imagine that on there now.
Obviously the daytime loading will be somewhat down per bus with so many running, but the night owl trips used to get very busy, not sure fewer seats will be a good thing.
Eh? Will they be the same seats, or bigger coach type seats?Re x38, I've heard they are being fitted with 2+1 seating, like the villager Darts were once upon a time.
Ah yes. 719 is
I'd be surprised if they weren't more luxurious seats...Eh? Will they be the same seats, or bigger coach type seats?
Nice to see them doing something different!Re x38, I've heard they are being fitted with 2+1 seating, like the villager Darts were once upon a time. Imagine that on there now.
