Pina Colada ice lollies. There was an ice cream van that used to appear at our school at lunchtimes. It sold two alcohol based ice lollies amongst its range, the above mentioned and one other. The afternoon lessons passed much easily. Have never seen them or similar since.

Are you sure that they were actually alcohol-based? Alcohols depress the freezing point of water, which is why they are used as antifreeze agents.

Does anyone else remember small savory biscuits that were a little ball of (ice-cream-type) wafer biscuit filled with a cheese sauce? I really liked them.
A
Cheese Footballs? Their in my local Tesco at the mo, they usually come out in time for Christmas. Think it’s Jacobs that make them, treated myself to some last week.

Party Seven: so bad that even teenagers wouldn’t drink it.

Thete were also those tins of beer or lager that had pictures of scantily dressed models on them.

After seeing some toffee related memories of the previous page it's reminded me Highland Toffee, the original McCowan's stuff. Used to absolutely love that stuff, unfortunately they disappeared about a decade ago.

Virgin Cola
I remember the M&S cola tasted the same. They ditched their own brand for Coca Cola.

Green Heinz Ketchup (think it was a special for the film "Flubber").
Ruby Kit Kats (I desperately miss these :( ).
Spira is a chocolate bar all my family say was the best.
Strawberry Cocopops is a recent disappeared item I loved.
Pineapple Jaffa Cakes last year were great.
Builder's Breakfast Walker's Crisps (Also their Fish and Chips flavour has changed from nice to horrid).
I fondly remember a strawberry and cream sweet I've not seen since I was a kid.
Why do they always make awesome special editons and cut them????
Strawberry and Cream sweet, perhaps campinos.

I was 11 and had no interest in chemistry so I bow to your knowledge. They certainly tasted like it though.

Some more I miss, all junk food or booze which probably says a lot about me

Pot Rice (a variant of Pot Noodle, but much nicer)
French Bread Pizzas
Heinz Baked bean pizzas
Carte D'or spagnola Ice cream (aka cherry flavour)
Irn Bru - the proper pre-sugar tax version
San Pellegrino - ditto
Bernard Matthews turkey burgers
Glenfiddich liqueur
Blackthorn cidermaster
Rekorderlig spiced plum cider
Loved them Heinz Baked bean pizzas, could make it myself with the beans minus the sauce.

The factory at which it was made was in Tryst Road, Stenhousemuir near to the local football ground, but the business closed down just over a decade ago and the premises have since been demolished. Possible that the brand name is still around, but now under the ownership of Tangerine Confectionery, based in Blackpool.

Double Diamond lived on as an export beer. I saw it in a booze supermarket in the small American town where I lived a couple of decades back. Remember being quite thrown by the sight of it at the time, I'd assumed DD went the way of other crap 1970s things.

Chocolate, strawberry and banana spring to mind.

Banana Toffoes, now we're talking.

Gino Ginelli ice cream (Unilever), lots of TV ads for it in the 1990s. Still on sale in South Africa.

Dasani bottled water (Coca-Cola Schweppes). Absolutely bombed after the revelation that it was only filtered tap water.

Limmits were the biscuit style dieting aid

Mentioning dieting immediately reminded me of Energen Rolls and I think other bread / biscuit items. I can find a couple of web pages with descriptions but not an image / photo. They were still available in at least the first years of the 1970's as when Dad was buying them and maybe still at the time of the bread strikes. If so no doubt in demand like loo rolls around 18 months ago ....

Numerous bread names have disappeared. I have not seen Mother's Pride, Nimble round loaves or Tiger ( not tiger like today ) but this

Boiling fowl, older chickens where the meat was so tough it had to be stewed for hours.
I remember getting those in Birmingham Central market when I was a student in the early 1980s. They made a great curry if you were patient enough.

My biggest regret is the disappearance of those little Swiss Knight Gruyere cheese triangles, which I think went in the late 1990s or early 2000s. Does anyone know, are they (or anything similar) still available in Switzerland? They were my 'guilty pleasure' - I actually prefer them to real Gruyere...
