You're right, never assume anything. Im basing this view on my application. No mention of talent pool when I applied but that's where I am. It really is a strange recruitment process qhen this happens, I've never got my head around how it all works to be fair.I would not assume that.
Trainees can be taken on a long time after other candidates have been put in a talent pool.
Don't ask me why because I haven't the foggiest, you could quite easily pass these assessments, mmi etc and leapfrog those in a talent pool and get a start before them.
yeah to back this up i am still awaiting a dmi with one of these tocs from the previous recruitment drive in March 2020. Hr say Still awaiting slots for the dmi and will be in touch as soon as they have them. You're right, never assume anything. Im basing this view on my application. I'm in St Leonards and it was a no from Southern today. Think just a bit too far for reasonable commute. Did apply for Thameslink as well - assume the result will be the same at some point soon.Just got my email, not successful sadly! Would of liked to know why! I live I Hastings so guess distance might be a factor. Only applied to southern
I never new there was more then one to apply for. I’ll pray for you man good luckI'm in St Leonards and it was a no from Southern today. Think just a bit too far for reasonable commute. Did apply for Thameslink as well - assume the result will be the same at some point soon.
Yep same here. Applied back in March. Still waiting for a date for the assessment centreyeah to back this up i am still awaiting a dmi with one of these tocs from the previous recruitment drive in March 2020. Hr say Still awaiting slots for the dmi and will be in touch as soon as they have them.
Suspect that would be the case.I wonder how the initial sift is done, would it be scanned by something looking for keywords on CV or actually looked over by staff?
Ive got a big feeling the word count is a part of it. If you got 10k applicants and 7k only typed 500 words out of the 2500 then its a no brainer. Someone who has wrote more words usually take more time on the application and are thinking about their answers.
I wrote a minimum of 1000/2500.
I could be wrong but i think its a quick way to eliminate a large percentage of applicants.
my thoughts!!!!You might be right, on the other hand, did you write aprox. 4 pages ( 1000 words ) for each answer ? What on earth did you write about ?
That would make more sense. I had 100 - 120 words per answer so about 600 - 800 characters.Thought it said max 2500 characters not words !!
As said previously. It's pretty much certain that the first sift will be automated. Which may explain why some have heard.I applied for the 3 of them on the 13th and still heard nothing back. Was a bit worried as some people had already recieved their rejections but I am pretty sure they are overwhelmed but also I guess most of their HR staff is on annual leave.
I may be wrong, but wasn’t aware DOO was a basis for an enhanced psychometric pass? It’s just random depending on the TOC/FOC as far as I’m aware.Yes it's DOO so requires a higher pass
SE were standard until recently. I believe, looking at previous posts, they are now enhanced as they do the VSE etc.Yeah I thought se was standard and they do a lot of doo
5 years!!!!! What!!i passed MMI and DMI in march 2016 for thameslink brighton. Im still in talent pool, although i dont pin any hopes on ever finally starting a course. Almost 5 years now
