I don't think illogical covid rules are exclusive to Wales - you could look elsewhere just in the UK to see further examples, as well as plenty of other countries around the globe.
Is the correct answer! With that attitude they'd have lost my custom Mad how some people still want to repel customers & their wallets!
At my concert in St. Davids Hall on Tuesday masks were required except when sat down.
There was a queuing system for the bar with dedicated entry and exit lanes but at least the beer was cheaper than normal!
It was as if restrictions had never been lifted.
Devolution. Why are we in Scotland and you in Wales putting up with this nonsense when England has been largely liberated ?
Absolutely.Devolution.
Absolutely.
I think it has already been stated upthread, but is that this is purely oneupmanship on behalf of the Welsh Government? It'd be interesting to hear views on why people think that, despite tending in general to have harsher restrictions than England, Wales and Scotland seem to have tended to fare slightly worse all-in-all

Cannot comment for Scotland.
Another good point, which also applies to Scotland.Englang you have never had it better!Same with minimum Alcohol price, they make the rules because they can.But if they cant make any rules
no need for them to exist!
Sorry, cannot be bothered with stats, although I appreciate what you are getting at.I meant in terms of their Covid statistics generally being a bit worse than England. Completely agree its oneupmanship - I'm sure both of them, Scotland in particular, would have loved to construct a "we could have eliminated Covid here were it not for England" argument. Sturgeon has gone rather quiet on that line recently.
If you're on a Paddington-Swansea train you may well find BTP boarding at Newport to check passengers are masked up.Rather amused at getting on a Holyhead to Crewe service at Chester this morning with nearly the whole train masked but everyone getting on the train at Chester unmasked!
Until they say they're exempt.....If you're on a Paddington-Swansea train you may well find BTP boarding at Newport to check passengers are masked up.
I was in Tesco Newport and there was a member of staff asking you to wear masks, but loads were saying they were exempt which was not the case a few weeks ago.Until they say they're exempt.....
The whole thing is pointless now. Even the conductor on the train came round checking tickets without a mask.
If this is the case, it is a pity they have not got anything better to do.If you're on a Paddington-Swansea train you may well find BTP boarding at Newport to check passengers are masked up.
Good question....I have taken to not wearing a mask on the bus or train( no one has said anything) and vaccine passports are a complete waste of time as having one doesn’t mean you definitely do not have Covid, but the real problem to me is that despite the Welsh Government announcing rules they allow individual venues and organisations to impose their own.Why are we in Scotland and you in Wales putting up with this nonsense when England has been largely liberated ?
I agree 100%And potentially losing custom from those of us who have never been happy with masks - especially given the inconclusive proof they are effective anyway. In reality I have always perceived them as a psychological crutch for the worried well to get that part of the population out and about again.
I am not against people wearing masks if they want to - it should always have been about free choice and people making their own decisions based on what is correct for themselves and their families.
Personally I find them obnoxious, make breathing difficult, are am environmental nuisance and worse still make you look like a wally!
John
Is that anything to do with the size of the crowds?Apparently the same sports ground in Swansea has different vaccine rules depending on whether football or rugby is being played.
I hope the people who would have attended tell them where to stick it.Hope those coming to events from outside Wales are fully aware of what is needed.
I just don't see the point. The Welsh Rugby Union are issuing ticket holders for the internationals with dedicated arrival times because they apparently intend to check everyone’s vaccine status.
True. But the only way to get rid of these rules is through non-compliance.
Surely you would be entitled to a refund? But the only way to get rid of these rules is through non-compliance.But in some instances this means you won’t get to do what you want to do.And I’m not missing the concerts I paid for over two years ago!
That assumes two major things. One, and most important, that missing an event booked two years prior is something that a refund can satisfy - I’ve had things booked where the money back for not going would miss the point entirely.Surely you would be entitled to a refund?

I caught a Paddington train from Cardiff to Newport the other day. The guard announced the requirement to wear a mask unless exempt . I presume she made another announcement after passing through the Severn Tunnel into England to say passengers could take them off!And in the background the Monty Python theme playing. It's getting that surreal now.
Creep creep……….Welsh ministers are set to consider whether to extend the use of Covid passes for a wider range of venues.
The health minister said the government would be "thinking about" the change because they are "hugely" concerned about the high levels of Covid-19.
The move is being considered after compulsory NHS Covid passes were introduced for people to legally attend big events or nightclubs in Wales.
Plaid Cymru wants rules tightened. The Tories are against more restrictions.
