They've not been cleared for that though, or have they?Allows for the formation of 6 carriage services as and when required at peak times etc.

Which is where they’re most needed considering Shrewsbury staff don’t sign 172sOn Shrewsbury’s yes. We won’t start learning them until later this year at Worcester
Possible in later roll out. With a Worcester crewe. But only as far as Whitlocks End or Dorridge. If calling at Old Hill only a 4 car can be used.Just out of general curiosity, will the snow hills still see 196s or will that no-longer happen with the transfer of the Chiltern 172s?

I believe that 004 is still at Long Marston. 105 + 107 have been Shrewsbury based test units for the last few weeks.Hopefully this update is correct from me, corrections are obviously welcomed.

Internally they have said OctoberDirect quotes from WMRs replies on their Facebook post from 2 days ago referencing the 196s;
"they will be going into service in the next couple of months"
"they will start to be rolled out into service very soon, drivers and conductors have been completing their training on them over the summer,"
I believe when I read the comments yesterday, there was a reply from them stating something along the lines of 'they will be in service later this month', although if I am remembering this correctly, the comment appears to have been deleted now.
Oh here we go again… the indefinite delays carry on. I won’t believe anything in terms of timeframes until we actually see the first one in service.Direct quotes from WMRs replies on their Facebook post from 2 days ago referencing the 196s;

Can imagine the upcoming strikes have undoubtedly delayed their introduction.Direct quotes from WMRs replies on their Facebook post from 2 days ago referencing the 196s;

The only thing currently delaying them from deployment is train crew choosing not to do training as RDW so it's taking longer to complete.Can imagine the upcoming strikes have undoubtedly delayed their introduction.
That's really good news! Thanks for the update.Fleet confirmed yesterday that Shrewsbury launch is within 2-3 weeks.
ETA on Hereford lines is April 2023.
Excellent! Is there any idea of what diagram will be the first to switch over?Fleet confirmed yesterday that Shrewsbury launch is within 2-3 weeks.
