Ye, the problem I had was I stated I enjoyed working alone (part of job) but 2 pages later it asks if I like working with people, I had to say no or my previous answer looks like a lie- but it sounds really bad. Anyway it’s done now, good luck buddy
They’re 2 separate questions. You can enjoy working alone and also enjoy working with people, the two aren’t linked in anyway. People tend to overthink the questions and answer them the way they think the company wants them to answer them rather than honest, truthful answers. Unfortunately, this sort of answering sticks out like a sore thumb. These questions are designed by phycologists to weed out certain traits and behaviours. Don’t over think things people!

Do you have an idea how long after you the online assessment closes you hear back. Presumably they will know if you've passed or failed it because it'll be automated?

No, sorry, can’t answer that one. There’s a lot going on in the company just now with recruitment so things are stretched.

Has anyone already sat all OPC assessments for another provider & passed? Wondering if I currently hold enhanced rail standard pass if i would need to resit with scotrail?

Hi. I applied 2022 for trainee driver Scotland and received an email a couple of weeks ago asking to confirm if my situation has changed and to attach a resume. I have sent and email asking when the assessment day will be but have heard nothing back. Am I likely to hear in due course or is there still a possibility that I won’t get to the assessment stage? Thanks

I sent an email to recruitment a few weeks back with a few questions I had about the role and have heard nothing yet so I presume they are just really backlogged.

I was thinking that as well. Maybe best to just sit tight rather than bombard them with emails. Don’t want a mark against my name

Ive passed everything for GWR a number of years ago then they shut the talent pool due to lack of vacancies grrrrr! Basically your pass scores are supposed to be valid for 5 years on the system, however in reality I have been told that most TOCs will only consider pass marks as valid for 2 years. I sat another set of assessments for DRS 3 years after the GWR debacle and was told my test results are not valid so I had to resit everything - failed on the last question of the MMI (2nd "in person" assessment stage) so was not happy as now I am on my last chance so if I fail again i've had it!

Hello, I have applied and completed a psychometric assessment, and I'm confident that I did well. However, for the Driving Task, which is crucial, I'm concerned I might have answered incorrectly. I'm unsure when the next step in the process will be, but I'm eager to work in the rail industry. Therefore, I'm considering applying for a modern apprenticeship opportunity to avoid wasting time while waiting. My question is, will it affect my application for a trainee train driver position if I become successful in the apprenticeship ? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I have also applied again this time. Passed all practical tests in 2019. So I hope they will still be valid. It’s hard to find a definitive answer as to how long scotrail keep your successful results on file for. I will post when I’ve heard back from the online assessments. For anyone about to ask if you need to study for these then I would say definitely not they are straight forward and just require honesty.

Currently working in the rail industry so if anyone needs a point in the right direction then please let me know

It said at the start of the questions that scoring is automatic so its surprising the results haven’t been sent out yet. They should have been able to email a result more or less instantly when the finish test button was pushed.

I found even with these OPC tests it still take about a week in experience to hear from the TOc

Thankfully I'm ok with the wait!

The OPC website says it should take 7-10 working days for us to get the assessment results. It also says if you don’t get them within 10 working days then email the employing company for your results.

So I’d be waiting 10 working days from the 16th and if still nothing ask the question to recruitment.

Completed my online tests 6th of March and just received email saying I've passed initial stage of test and I've now got the final test.
So be patient guys

Has anyone had an email saying unsuccessful? Or will it just be a case of not getting the next OPC assessment you have been unsuccessful?

I only completed my first assessments on Thursday, anyone else about the same time frame and heard back for the next assessments?

Hopefully, only thing making me think otherwise is the deadline on the screenshot a few posts up. Unless it’s done in stages of when people have completed them then still a chance
