I think I was just being thorough and lost track of time. Had I set a timer then it would have prompted me to answer more quickly because 35 minutes is more than adequate.
It’s tricky because if you overthink anything, you will fail at somepoint along the way. The tests are set up in such a way that they want you to find the happy medium. Don’t overthink it, but don’t just press buttons and guess. There’s people literally going through these looking for every single detail and it’s a ruthless process. They’re not afraid to put anyone aside as ultimately, they need to whittle it down to a much lower number.
Similarly if anyone is arrogant and think they’re brilliant, then they too will get caught out. It’s a true test of your personality in my opinion.
Look at it this way though, answering 7 questions that you’ve got an eye for detail for might not be what they’re looking for in a drivers recruitment process, but I’m sure something else in the railway would be the exact opposite. There are many jobs that require such fine attention to detail, operations for one. Again I’m not saying drivers don’t have attention to detail, it’s just of a different type.
