Progress on Avanti West Coast's 805/807s Hitachi AT300 sets

Pendolino production has stopped in the UK. However the trains are still produced in Italy for European customers. No doubt the drawings and jigs will still be available. 1708463331 Slightly off topic but a recent Pendolino produced for services from Switzerland to Italy.

Progress on Avanti West Coast's 805/807s Hitachi AT300 sets

The problem could simply be that no company currently has an approved titling 125mph train approved for use in the UK Guess more Pendolinos could be built, but there is not a dual mode version approved. When Noeth Wales is electrified that would not be a problem.

    East Kilbride/Barrhead electrification updates

There are of course many more passengers who use the East Kilbride line who will benefit from the faster and cleaner electric trains. Not great numbers from Barrhead to Kilmarnock, so it's further down the list for electrification works

Having said they don't need the low height double deckers for the 6 they got transferred to Aberdeen. Although they did keep a few.

    East Kilbride/Barrhead electrification updates

First seem to think there is now no need to use double decks on the route at Busby. So that probably means a quick shot blast and repaint. Tidying any steelwork in the process.

Progress on Avanti West Coast's 805/807s Hitachi AT300 sets

As part of the construction process, each train needs to complete a pre-determined mileage accumulation process. If there are any problems the clock starts again at zero mileage. Lumo is built to it's specification and is an electric only train. The 807 will be similar but not the same as a...

Progress on Avanti West Coast's 805/807s Hitachi AT300 sets

Had done 2 trips to Glasgow this week on Wednesday and Thursday. The rather grimy state no doubt reflects the temperatures. With no washing being done.

Progress on Avanti West Coast's 805/807s Hitachi AT300 sets

Was on an Azuma the other week and they were will in use. It's maybe not too obvious where or what they are. With seats not aligning with windows I guess they are as near the sests as they can get.

    Haymarket to Dalmeny electrification

However with the cancellation of HS2, other Projects were to be funded with the cash. So far I have not seen or heard of any more Barnett Consequentials. Which could of course be used to fund the outstanding electrification schemes..

    Haymarket to Dalmeny electrification

No doubt all will be revealed in the Hollyrood budget tomorrow. However they do not seem to be getting any Barnett consequentials from The cutting of HS2, which would naturally go on similar schemes for Scotland . Perhaps they should cut funding of the Health Service, local Government or the...

    Haymarket to Dalmeny electrification

The installation of mast piles was only a means of keeping their contractors doing something useful. So as not to allow staff being paid off and disbanded. Aberdeen to the Central Belt Is a large Project that willl last many years it's not been funded qnd will be funded over many budget years...
