I’ve fumbled onto a characteristic of few 66s during idle where occasionally, the RPM increases and stays that way for a minute or two before idling back down. Does anybody know what triggers this?
My guess is it feeds pressure onto the brakes at the back of the modal.
Here’s references...
I am opening this thread to garner intel as to why and how the aforementioned Freightliner class 66 numbers mentioned above, are the only locos authorised to run the seasonal RHTT work on the London Underground network.
With the inauguration of GBR in the near horizon which will essentially be under the grips of DfT’s hands, i doubt we’ll even see any introduction of new rolling stock for years to come. Thus it should be out of the equation altogether

I've seen a lot of 5 car 720s on the West Anglian routes over the past few days. Do we know when GA will start doubling up the units, as I can't imagine 5 cars doing much justice on the Stansted shuttles, especially if we are due to lose the 745s onto the Great Eastern
Good morning. Can anybody confirm the loco number for this diagram? Thanks in advance

Do we know if the 69s will be assigned to any other workings other than the usual Mountfield - Southampton? I presume the Cl 69s will displace the vast majority of 66s already stationed in Tonbridge
Does anybody have any info regarding the state of 66552? From all I know, it remains parked at Leeds Freightliner depot for over a year now. I am also aware that 66585 & 597 are long time no runners as well

Edit: Just saw that it is 66541 myself.
I've also figured engineering work of the sorts would be the most plausible outcome to this routing mystery. But I just wanted to consult in case if I ended up jumping the gun a little too soon. What sort of engineering works are they carrying out there? Track renewal?
As the title states, the query, in particular, is associated with the Freightliner intermodal service from East Mids - Felixstowe which seems to be assigned on quite the adventurous voyage down the NLL suburbs through Stratford via the speedy ECML cruise down Retford for this week & next week...
Whilst browsing through the RTT schedule of Camden Jn earlier this morning, I noticed a Freightliner Q schedule in place for a Felixstowe - Cannock Intermodal run.
