What do you do if a passenger doesn't pay on the bus?

I've been on a bus in London, were a couple of passengers walked on without paying the driver then switched off the engine & refused to drive the bus unless the passengers paid the fare or got off, the passengers got off Sometimes plod has to be called out if passenger refuses to leave the bus...

If a political party leader was an item of rolling stock, which class would they be?

Think Truss is more 370 APT, rushed into service (like Truss with that stupid mini budget) & became very expensive failure, like Truss.

    Worst LA for timetable information

Before franchising Greater Manchester was one of the best areas for up to date bus information at bus stops, they often put route numbers up on most if not all the flags even if it's the only route using that road, great effort considering the amount of changes operators made in the GM area...

Trivia: The furthest distance that you can travel entirely on one bus operator

Stagecoach, i think the 84 Crewe - Chester might be longer than the 5 Wrexham - Chester, i know the 84 just has a longer journey time end to end than the 5 does, although buses on 84 are timed to wait at Nantwich Bus Station for a couple of minutes.

    Arriva North West and Wales

The biggest head scratcher is they were ordered for Chester in the first place, the Sapphire standard buses are more suited to longer routes

    trentbarton discussion

The current route 108 Leek - Ashbourne has 4 journeys 2 of which extend to Buxton ( 3 journeys on Saturdays) & i think is tendered by the County Council which tells you all you need to know about that route Even back to the days when it was 201 Manchester - Derby that route only had 5 daily...

    Arriva North West and Wales

The only times the E400s on the 10, 10A were busy was college journey's, definitely an odd choice of route for such vehicles, they would have been better allocated to Rhyl for the Rhyl - Holywell - Chester route, or Rhyl - Denbigh - Wrexham route. It was quite daft when you saw the older Gemini...

    Worst LA for timetable information

Derbyshire the worst LA for bus information, give over you need to give your head a wobble, they're one of the best, & have there own dedicated website for bus information too https://www.derbysbus.info/ A lot of the North Wales LAs are dreadful now for bus information, Flintshire is definitely...

Why doesn’t GWR run up to Birmingham or at least cover all of Worcestershire?

GWR back in the day went as far as Birkenhead Woodside via Chester, Wrexham & Shrewsbury but was always superseded by the WCML, no chance of that route ever being re established.

Does this Portsmouth > Wembley Stadium plan make (ticket legality) sense?

Wembley Stadium is a bit of a hike from Wembley Central (at least 15 - 20 minute walk) using Wembley Park is the better option, & Wembley Park has more frequent trains on both the Met & Jubilee Lines (change at Baker Street for the Met or Jubilee Lines), were as Bakerloo Line trains are around...

    Bee Network Service/Route Discussion

Indeed, the times i used the 562, buses were often quite empty between Ripponden & Denshaw, the 562 was mostly used for local journeys either side of the border, contrast that with the 184 were passengers do use it for through journeys between West Yorkshire & GM, as well as local journey's...

    UK General Election 2024

I remember sky started doing deals were you got the dish & set top box for free, if you took out subscription over a certain period, it was around £200 for the dish & box, & that was before you took out any subscriptions, which is why many didn't buy sky, but a lot of the upper class didn't buy...

Should Saturday Timetables Be Different To Monday-Friday?

In some areas before 9am Saturday timetables & frequencies are different to Monday to Friday when roads are lighter & so are loadings [they are on some routes in my area Merseyside], traffic can be worse from mid morning particularly in tourist areas.

    Arriva (Beds, Bucks, Herts)

The 724 is more useful for fast East to West links across Hertfordshire than end to end journeys, someone going from Hatfield, or Welwyn through to St Albans or Watford (& vice versa) is more likely to get a 724.

    West Midlands Day Ranger

I've brought many West Midlands Day Rangers (WMDR) from Liverpool Lime Street, & split with a Liverpool, Crewe day return. Biggest annoyance WMDR is not valid on the direct Crewe - Shrewsbury - Hereford TfW service, even though it's valid at those stations on other services
