The KESR have just built a new T/table in built up ground in a tight location.

Bridges 11 and 12 at the South end of Levisham Straight at Farwath are also being worked on in preparation for full replacement next year. But these are only large culverts in reality.

It did carry the name "The General" I believe this was a link back to the Burt Lancaster film of the Train. I think this was because the number was of an engine allocated to the same depot as this supposed loco. This is all unconfirmed though.

There is no turntable at Grosmont. Or Whitby. (Unless someone has installed it in the last few days.)

A number of railways around the country and also some engineering firms do work of this nature. The Railway works tend to make use of spare capacity to do contract work. The engineering firms are in it for the work.
