Just in time for Arriva to launch a new livery!
Can't have a new livery in Derby. Trentbarton are using all the other coloursDon't, that can't be far off!

I think that one is slightly the wrong colour, so they never added the other vinyls, just an arriva name. And 4222 in plain blue.
What’s it tracking as?MX09 OOJ has entered service and its new fleet number is 3717
The yutong demo 9001What’s it tracking as?
Thank you, I’ve been suffering with man-flu so everything has slipped under my radarThe yutong demo 9001
3708 has also started tracking on 3561's machine
No worries.Thank you, I’ve been suffering with man-flu so everything has slipped under my radar
In fairness on 24s the only real place you’d notice a vehicle being slow is Mansfield road, with it being a hill & buses turning out it can really test most vehicles.I will say too 3708 does seem more speedy, it was quite packed and was still doing a decent speed around chaddesden
I had a pulsar struggle alot on hereford road too. I'd assume thats why they were putting them on x38s first to see how they cope under speed and such. (Seemed like it was what they were doing till they introduce one on the 2/A..)In fairness on 24s the only real place you’d notice a vehicle being slow is Mansfield road, with it being a hill & buses turning out it can really test most vehicles.
I’ve not sampled any ‘new’ ones yet but hopefully they are good replacements for the OmniCitys.
Is that any different to when Arriva was owned by the German state railways? All their buses look battered, I was behind a decker with the vinyls peeling off and looking very unclean with a dark substance from the engine.
Ah, the joys of private equity.
The full rear adverts have been removed from the whole fleet recently due to the contract expiry, so the deckers do look a little scruffy, the ‘dark substance’ is likely to be an oil of kind, but if you were behind the decker that means it was still working. I’d rather a scruffy looking bus on time than a ‘really good’ bus that doesn’t show up.All their buses look battered, I was behind a decker with the vinyls peeling off and looking very unclean with a dark substance from the engine.

Not quite removed from the whole fleet . Saw a Scania leave the bus station with a yellow and blue advert this morning. The full rear adverts have been removed from the whole fleet recently due to the contract expiry, so the deckers do look a little scruffy, the ‘dark substance’ is likely to be an oil of kind, but if you were behind the decker that means it was still working. Maybe is is just being kept on because the vehicle is being withdrawn soon. Not quite removed from the whole fleet . Saw a Scania leave the bus station with a yellow and blue advert this morning.
Puzzled......What Scania has Arriva Midlands got ??Not quite removed from the whole fleet . Saw a Scania leave the bus station with a yellow and blue advert this morning.
Highly likely, but it makes you wonder why they bothered with removing many of the others. I guess the contract may have come to an end, or a new advert is incoming. Always seems to be Hilton garage adverts.Maybe is is just being kept on because the vehicle is being withdrawn soon.

Ah, Derby. I thought we were in Leicester. The Omnicities and Omnilinks at Derby.
There used to be some in Leicester... before I can remember. But more recently, Omnicity 3580 (YN04 AHA) operated out of Coalville a few years ago on the 16 for a few days before being withdrawn.Ah, Derby. I thought we were in Leicester.
‘Arriva midlands’ covers quite a big area.Ah, Derby. I thought we were in Leicester.
I can live with the scruffy outside, although it's hardly the way to encourage new users. The full rear adverts have been removed from the whole fleet recently due to the contract expiry, so the deckers do look a little scruffy, the ‘dark substance’ is likely to be an oil of kind, but if you were behind the decker that means it was still working. I loved those old omnicities! There used to be some in Leicester... before I can remember. But more recently, Omnicity 3580 (YN04 AHA) operated out of Coalville a few years ago on the 16 for a few days before being withdrawn.
It's getting worse IMO - Derby didn't have any major route deviations in years, then I Squared come in and start cutting and merging routes to reduce operating costs. They also managed to ruffle TB with the X38 service. Is that any different to when Arriva was owned by the German state railways?

What major route deviations and cutting? The 1s already had 3 variations and now has more buses in the evening and Sundays with the 1b extension. The new 6 seems to cover the busiest section of the 5 and also compliments the 4 and 7 to almost double the number of buses via the Cavendish to Sinfin. The X38 change sounds like it was in the pipeline for a while.I loved those old omnicities!

And whatever people may think about the X38 service changes, Arriva have certainly delivered an improvement for their customers. What major route deviations and cutting?
