Good point - it is missing the teal that the pendolinos have at the front and just picks up from the dark blue that's halfway down the pendolino carriages
The livery already looks a tad cramped on a voyager, can't imagine it having more colours layered on.

I find that from certain angles and distances, it can be easily mistaken for a CrossCountry one now.

If you look at it from a reasonable distance, you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. When I saw it at Watford last weekend, I almost thought it was a hire in!

Does that mean 221112 is complete or are they doing more than one at a time?
Also, where are the Voyagers being re-vinyled?

Thanks
I can imagine 112 would have been complete - the work’s being done in-house at Central Rivers.

There's one with the name Alison on the ends, not sure which set though, though Google seems to indicate set 390115.

Also, interestingly, 390039 Lady Godiva has white window surrounds on the standard end driving vehicle, east facing side if in normal formation.

Thanks for that, added it to the list. :D

I shall add more Super Voyagers as they are vinyled.

Just to mention: the white window surrounds are, bizzarely, only on the east facing side of the standard driving vehicle of 390039, not on the west side.

Is that your spelling mistake or Avanti's? The Staffordshire city should be spelt Lichfield (although the Hampshire village of Litchfield had a station until 1960).
That was just how I thought it was spelt.

I mean come on, nobody is perfect, every other name is spelt correctly. :D

I'll edit it now.

Cheers for that info Mr Seagull, I never knew that as I haven't seen it from the other side before.:D

The purpose is to remove all existence of the identity of Virgin Trains, which after over twenty years of operation is understandably passengers still believe Avanti is.
You can peel off the logo, but the red/blue interiors, red and silver exteriors, onboard shop and talking toilets are what passengers automatically associate with Virgin.

Avanti will rightly be wanting to distance themselves from the brand (and potentially Virgin group from Avanti)
Exactly, there's still a handful of people I know who think XC is owned by Virgin!

Sanded all (or at least, a lot of the way) back, is that the first one they've done it on? 115 definitely didn't get it but haven't seen any pictures of subsequent units. At least there'll be no shield remnants

It's interesting to see Avanti put so much money into these trains to tidy them up when they're going asap, then you have CrossCountry who have had theirs long-term and haven't put nearly this much money into them. The shield scar is still very visible on a lot of the CrossCountry ones, not to mention the interiors which have barely been touched.

Suggests Avanti either want to present their fleet as modern and clean, or they're creating themselves a backup for if they need to retain some of them for whatever reason, long term or short term.

Third option: Avanti have more money than Cross-Country.

Maybe true, but XC have had their franchise since 2007, if they've been running on fumes the whole time to the point they can't even reupholster seats and repaint hand rails, there's deep issues there.
