How long do pre employment checks usually take, and what circumstances can lead you to fail it? Apart from failing the DBS check etc

In my experience a week tops, DBS is usually the main thing but I guess they ask employers for proof that you were there and you werent fired for something serious or what your job role was. Only something serious like gross misconduct will lead to failing it from an employers aspect I believe.

Nice, I'm doing mine and it's taking a bit longer. I'm worried it's because I've put my start date in wrong for one of my old jobs. I was off by two weeks as I couldn't remember it, and I'm trying to get in touch to tell them but haven't had any luck. Really hope this doesn't end up failing me as I'd be gutted lol.

Normally this sort of thing won't be too bad - they appreciate people don't always know the specifics. You might get a clarification email requesting further info, so don't stress too much!

I was witness to another load of new CSAs practicing their SATs at Barons Court, so LU are really pushing the trainees through. I was well dispatched, even if the trainee was a bit nervous!

Hi guys! Just an update. My password didn’t work as well, I didn’t know why. Today I’ve got a phone call from Katie. She said all the checks were fine and she has the last spot for a June training and the next one will be I think 4th of July. I’ve accepted June. I’ve got an email with confirmation but maybe someone knows if they’re sending any contract or something? I need to resign from my current position and I wish to be sure I’ll be there I didn’t make it to call there and find out today so I need to wait till Monday..

Don't hand in your notice yet if you only need to give 4 weeks notice. Wait and hand in your notice at the right time. I know we won't go into another lockdown but you can't trust this government. Too many U turns.

I know that’s why I need to find out if I can have any contract to be sure. Anyone else got a call with dates?

They should email you a contract for you to sign and return before you start training.

Little update on the ac1 train maintainer role

I was contacted on Tuesday by an incredibly helpful lady and had my offer sent over right away looking for a start around 6th June .
Apparently I was one of 4 that was contacted .
It's worth waiting for guys as I had originally interviewed in 2019

Morning all, I got a night tube training date for middle August. Contracts will come out 3 weeks before the start date. It’s such a relief to have a date.

Hope everyone else gets one soon too.

That's great news. Must be a very nice feeling to know the wait is finally over.

I just checked my TfL screening status and it's on the final stage.

I even got an email from TfL asking me to provide a payslip or P45 covering November 2019 to prove I was working during this time. I don't have them documents so I just sent then my bank statement that I downloaded for November 2019. It clearly shows in the statement that I got paid from the employer.

I haven't heard back so I hope they will accept the Bank statement.

Did they call you or email you to let you know the course dates?

After I’ve send the documents to confirm my employment I didn’t get any reply and the screening was completed. I think they’re sending confirmation straight to tfl not to us. I couldn’t login to my account anymore cause it was completed. I’ve found out when they’ve called me about training.
You’ll get a phone call for sure about the dates and after that just an email with confirmation.

I just rang the Reed screening office. They told me the lady I need to speak to is on her lunch break and will call me back.

I just wanted to know if my Bank statement and pension statement than mentions last day of contributions as evidence of last day of work. The Prison service didn't respond to the reference request so I had to prove my employment start and end date another way.

I want to be on the August course as I would prefer to get the course done by the end of summer holidays. Hopefully they accept the documents I sent and complete everything so I can call TfL.

I think you can call Tfl and ask how is the situation and if they’ve got any confirmation from reed screening. As I’ve said, I’ve send all documents and I didn’t get any reply for few days and apparently they’ve send confirmation to Tfl straight after getting the documents. And I was waiting for a response from them

I just called TfL and I've been told my screening is complete but all the courses upto August is fully booked. Its most likely I'll be on one of the Autumn courses but if anyone drops out before then il be put on the earlier course.

I just have to wait for the call now but it could be a very long wait.

Spoke to Katie on Wednesday just to send some current documents as it’s been a while since I’d sent my previous ones (December to be precise)

I have my video verification on Tuesday and likely hood of being placed on the august training dates which is fine by me.

Also I already have an active DBS going within my current position so that will speed up the process according to Katie as mine was the annual paid for one.
