I’ve just had a browse at the latest update of Quack77’s fleet list for FK (6/5/21) and, apparently, they are acquiring the following vehicles:

32489 (AU53 HKG),
V308 LGC (Loan),
V338 LGC (Loan),
LN51 GMF (Which we know about already),
PN02 XCF (Loan),
YT61 GRX (GRU is/was with KingsFerry).

Or more likely incorrect like most of the rest of that list!

No mention of the 4 vehicles being collected tomorrow from West Of England though

I didn’t think any of what I posted was right so ignore that post.
Unfortunately the Quack77 website is subject to lots of mistakes and pranks of sort, sort of like Wikipedia. It's a shame as it's a really good site

The Day tripper Solo was still in Camborne earlier as were two Mousehole Solos. Seen a Dart headed west on the A30, looked like 42560 with someone who posts on here at the wheel!

Photos have been shared in a bus enthusiast Facebook group showing 4 red front B7TL ALX 400s leaving Bristol presumably for Cornwall. 32073 KP51 VZZ and 32094 KP51 WCR were the only 2 identifiable in the images shared.

Other possibilities I believe would be two of 32084 32093 32098 or 32277.

Are we to know what they’re being acquired for? I thought you weren’t getting any more stuff older than the two short 53 plate Gemini’s?
I'm guessing it's because four Volvo B7TLs recently left FSW as a part exchange deal for the open tops, but those B7s needed replacing.

They’re just a short term loan until colleges break
It had been said on here fairly recently that 20 ALXs including these ones from what you’ve said will all be gone by the summer holidays when 20 MMCs return from SPS by summer.

Yes two were exchanged with the Scanias for Exmoor then another two for the open top Lizard Presidents.

Yes I know there’s 30 of them up there, I take all of them will come back during the summer now as I originally thought 20 would return to see off the 20 ALXs to Ensign then the other 10 returning at a later date from what I’ve read on some comments on the Cornwall by Kernow fan page on FB.

What is definite is that the balance of 16 will go to Ensign and the 4 loans will return to WoE. The remaining number of older B7TLs and Tridents retained will depend upon social distancing and final College requirements

That seems a fairly straight-forward and logical explanation. There is one question though.... "final College requirements"..... Pardon my ignorance but you're referring to any year on year variation to the existing Truro and Cornwall/Bicton/Duchy contracts rather than anything else?

Also, and apologies if it's been mentioned earlier, but is there a plan to replace the Somerset Tridents in the offing?

Saw 32103 going through Lelant earlier on the A2, the open toppers look so much nicer in there new Lands End Coaster livery.

At least three of the weekends transfers from Bristol are in Camborne. Only one was identified which was 32098.

Y1EDN is YT61GRU not GRX. I think it’s fleet number is 2370*
I’m not sure of the levantes as they were already displaying their private plates when they arrived in Truro.
23701 is Y1 EDN ex YT61 GRU
23702 is Y2 EDN ex YT61 GRX

The route hasn’t run a winter service in its summer 21 form.
In terms of what was an Atlantic Coaster (now Lands End Coaster), I guess the A1 has been running across winter though? Would it be mainly standard closed top deckers (e.g. Tridents, B7TLs) with the occasional spare Solo thrown in?

The now totally Atlantic Coaster (A4/A5) hasn't had a similar pattern in winter; in the past when the A5 did run, it was Tridents.

The two return journeys a day that continued to/from the A2/A3 were open-top until the routes stopped in early January. Otherwise you're correct on the vehicle allocation.

I couldn't remember when they had run or not

Last time I enjoyed the bus to Sennen, it was a Trident, followed by a Solo (which we eshewed) followed by an open top B7TL
