Went on the 2110ish departure on the Y4 to Yate on Thursday night, one of only two journeys that now extends all the way to Yate Shopping Centre. I was the only passenger who went all the way to Yate with everyone else getting off in Winterbourne.

In contrast getting back from Bristol to Brislington yesterday evening was a lot of hassle. Me and a friend initially went to catch a 1 from The Horsefair but that didn't turn up. Went to the bus station to be greeted by an enormous queue for the 39 suggesting that the previous departure had been cancelled and a notice that the next departure on the 349 was cancelled. The 39 we all got on ended up overloading at Broad Quay resulting in several passengers being left behind at Temple Meads.

We also saw a number of abandoned buses parked up at bus stops.

There must have been a particular problem with drivers yesterday evening.
Ashton Gate shuttles and a rugby shuttle in weston using Bath drivers and busses would be part of the reason

I see that 39449 (Urban) and 39469 (73) both have card readers in place for tap off.
Are we about to get more changes to ticketing?
I was on several 48/48A/49 allocated vehicles on Friday and all had the readers fitted. However I can see safety being compromised having the reader where they are on the grab rail, if someone walks out in front of the bus and the brakes are jammed on suddenly the reader is right in the way for a passenger at the front of bus to miss catching the rail.

Yes, I thought that too...

Especially if they're concentrating on tapping their card and not watching the road.

Half of the A3 is now back in the hands of the proper vehicles. 67107 is back out today alongside 47569.

Hopefully 67108 will return soon, though apparently it has returned to Alexander Dennis to get some problems it’s developed whilst away fixed.

67108 was back at Weston yesturday. Have these problems already been fixed or has it been sent back?

I think it has only just come back. Was only made aware it was back this afternoon by a driver.

I presume it is now fixed and is waiting to be vinyled ready to go out.

I see that the 19 is shown as stopping there too.

Have the cones gone from around the back of the (northbound) stop on the pavement? Last time i looked the only way to/from the actual stop was to walk through the cones...
The T1 I was on today stopped there and someone got off.
The cones are still there!

What is replacing 33506/33508 as 33506 was out in service yesterday on X1 as I saw it when I went to Weston yesterday but missed it by a minute or so as I got in Bristol bus station. I got 35673 (a new streetdeck) for the first time as I've not been on a badgerline streetdeck until yesterday and I've got to say it's really nice and comfortable to ride on.

Just noted a 24 liveried vehicle outbound Bath Road at low speed with rear off side damage presumably after being crashed into.

33506/33508 were originally planned to stay at Weston but the plan has changed now and all the ex-London E400s are off to Taunton (as has been said some via Potteries/Olive Grove)

A couple of B9s are staying at Weston instead.

37405/37406 should be collected by First Eastern Counties this weekend.

37326 is back in service at Lawrence Hill.

When do the open tops start in Weston? I am up that way soon and was hoping to see them on service 1.

Does anybody know what buses were on the Love Saves The Day shuttles today? All I know is that 36823 was on Love Saves The Day shuttles.

I saw 36814, 33939 and 33942, plus a 3/4-branded B9 and a couple of Unibus E400, one of which was 33494.220602-05 First West of England 33939 (YX66 WEF).JPG220602-01 First West of England 36814 (YM17 FKJ).JPG220602-03 First West of England 33942 (YX66 WEK).JPG

37415 is going to be transferred to Norwich today. It says on First West Of England Enthusiast Group. 37410 is probably going as well. Also why is 37415 (I think) tracking as First Norfolk and Suffolk 37575?

Former Bristol based Gemini 37626 seen today in Fareham on service C1 and still carries evidence of its branding for services 3/4.

Anyone on here have experience of route 126 from Weston super Mare to Wells?

I'm thinking of paying a visit to the Cheddar Brewery taproom. Their website suggests a 20 minute walk from the centre of Cheddar, presumably along the old railway line. However it looks to me like the bus route almost passes the brewery, presumably there may be a bus stop that is closer than a 20 minute walk away. Can anyone advise?

The bus stop they are suggesting you get off at is Church Street and then it would be a 20 min walk to the brewery on a pedestrian footpath.
There is a closer stop called Katona Stone coming from Wells or Calcott Farm coming from Weston and this would be a 6 min walk but there is no pavement so you would have to walk in the road.

That's really helpful, thanks a lot.

I think we'll probably walk along the old railway line rather than risk walking along an A road with no pavement.

Thanks again for a really quick response!

Been told that the Bath based discover fleet will have a problem in a few weeks when the St Margaret’s Street Road bridge, Bradford-on-Avon is closed for 7 months (Services to Trowbridge and Warminster). There is a separate thread in infrastructure section on this complicated bridge rebuild.

Apparently they can’t easily get round the acute corner on the signed diversion from Frome Road into Junction Road except by crossing onto wrong side of the road as they utilise the long single deck Volvo Wrightbus Eclipse 2

Here is a street view of the relevant junction with its narrow traffic lanes and corner
