I only watched the first half of the match and as time went on in that period, one could have been forgiven in thinking that in comparison with the standard of skill levels, creative midfield thinking, etc, that was displayed in the Champions League final between Barcelona and Juventus, one could only but despair at the fare that was being served by both teams in that time period. My good lady wife was heard to utter..."Why are they showing an Oldham Athletic match on a Sunday"....
One only has to see the top teams in the English Premiership with numerous foreign players possessing of a far higher skills ability than the typical English player and then wonder if the move by certain football bodies to restrict the number of foreign players available to the team squads and to ensure their replacements with home-grown players in order to ensure that first-team football is available to them, which in turn is naively supposed to aid the English national team in major competitions.
All this will do is to ensure that the England team will have more "dross" with Premiership matches under their belts available for selection to the England squad and when it comes to the latter stages of major competitions and the England team have to face teams with far superior tactical and skills ability, the stupidity of that aspirational pipe-dream will be revealed for the paucity of leadership at the highest national football organisations over here.

As proof of the old adage "It never rains but it pours", Rangers International Football Club plc has been delisted from the AIM Stock Exchange and trading in the shares in this company has been officially suspended.
One matter now taken by Rangers since they did not move out of the Scottish Championship was to address the matter of the team manager. They have now appointed Mark Warburton, the very first Englishman to be appointed to fill that particular role, on a three-year contract.

I've not watched the game but it was clearly due to Delph that England won
Perhaps having been playing in this match, he would have been somewhat annoyed that Jack Grealish, instead of him, had decided to show off some of the new Aston Villa training techniques in Tenerife...
