As a general rule, Rail Sale tickets are only available for TOC-specific routes. CrossCountry only offer walk-up tickets between Banbury and Cambridge so the closest you'd get would be Leamington Spa - Cambridge.
Strangely I found some fares from Bicester North being fare set by Avanti, who don't even serve Bicester!

That's quite common where a short local connection is required to an intercity service - eg tickets from all the stations in the north around Manchester to Euston will be set by Avanti.

I'm curious as to why so many of the Rail Sale tickets I'm being offered are *more* expensive than non-sale tickets (all the 1st class advances I've seen Leeds to London).

Because there is no railcard discount on Rail Sale tickets.

A 1st Class Rail Sale ticket from Leeds to London is £44.20 (for LNER)
The cheapest normal Advance ticket from Leeds to London is £56.00 (for LNER). With a railcard discount that's £37.20. There are two other 1st class price points that work out cheaper with a railcard.

I wonder what the point of showing me the tickets is.

Some are more, even when accounting for the railcard discount, with some Leeds-Keighley fares being almost twice the discounted rate.

Perhaps worth a reminder that there is a similar day rover Northern 55+ ticket available for unlimited travel in the West and Central Region, £18.40.

Uber now only giving 5% discount ! When did this happen please ?

Was previously 10%
It changed a couple of weeks ago. IF you want to join Uber One and there are promotions for 3 months free membership for new members, Uber One members continue to receive 10%.

It may not work for everybody but I went to cancel my (monthly) subscription and as part of the process before cancelling they offered 3 months of U1 for half price. For others, definitely worth seeing if that's the case too.

I got that yesterday as well, though I only use Uber for, err, Uber, and not train tickets.

Yes, I went to cancel Uber One and was offered a one off £1.50 to cover a further 3 months membership. I thought it just about worth it and accepted.

You get the 5% even if you're not a member. So to cover the 5% on top of that, you'd need to spend £1,000 on train tickets - assuming you don't e.g. get any Uber rides or food deliveries anyway which you'd save on.

I was able to get it at the student price of £25 for the year which is a lot more attractive, don't think full-cost would be worth it to me.

Thanks.

Now to acquire some copies of Northern Papers in London somehow o_O.

Buy the newspapers - for the tokens - on the day of travel. You need to buy the ticket from any staffed station within the Northern network in any case . Just remember to print the .pdf booking form before you go

Edit: to clarify where to buy the ticket in bold type.

Can be any ticket office (e g. Manchester Piccadilly).
