Today at Crewe depot (1/4/25):
HD02
67016 connected to HD05.

1V31 swapped for a unit last minute this morning, 1V31/1W55/1V42/1W63 now showing 197104.
Hd05 won't be back tomorrow either due to its faults, HD01 also planned under repair at Crewe tomorrow with HD02/03/04(if back from tyre turn)/06/07 on the 5 diagrams.
03 then finishes in Crewe fir it's exam.

Today at Crewe depot: (3/4/25)
67008 connected to HD01
67016 connected to HD05
67013 connected to HD04
66029 light engine.

Crewe is turning into a bit of a graveyard for Mk4 rakes with HD01/04/05 all under repair today.
01 has been pulled and will now go on exam for a couple of days, one of 04 or 05 ( with 67029 vice 016) is hoped to go out tomorrow.
HD03 is planned to end there tomorrow night then has exam over the weekend.
The poor reliability over the last couple of weeks has knocked sets out of place so bunching up of exams has occurred.
01 has been pulled and will now go on exam for a couple of days, one of 04 or 05 ( with 67029 vice 016) is hoped to go out tomorrow.
HD03 is planned to end there tomorrow night then has exam over the weekend.

67025 is now back available and at ATC swapping places with 67008 which has gone to ETD for repairs.
Tonight, HD03 and HD04 are planned to swap locos with 67013 going onto HD03 and 67022 going onto HD04.
Tomorrow should see 67010+HD02 and 67029+HD05 out of Canton with 67013+HD03 and 67017+HD06 out of Crewe.
Sunday should see 67016+HD01 on the Crewe diagram with the Canton diagram expected as a unit.

1Z99 is now en-route to Pyle to pick it up, is this the first time the rescue operation has been undertaken west of Cardiff?
Yes believe it is. Loss of air pressure on the set.
To balance things for tomorrow, 18:37 Cardiff to Manchester and 22:30 back to Crewe are allocated to 67017+HD06.

Supposing they'll fix HD01 overnight to get it out for either 1W11/1W13?
Believe the plan is for it to go out on w11 if fixed, if it's not it can also pick up the second half of the diagram but if it doesn't make it at all it doesn't overload Canton.
HD04 is pencilled in for W13.

I was on this. The first time we halted was at Water Street Junction where the line into Margam Hump yard used to diverge. The engine appeared to shut down and restart and after 10 minutes or so we continued until the brakes were applied for Pyle and we came to an abrupt halt with only the first coach in the platform. Further attempts to move failed and the guard eventually opened the doors on the first coach and passengers were sent over the bridge to pick up the following train running wrong line.
