I'm going to be trying places like Poundland, Home Bargains, B&M. They sometimes have discontinued stuff long after the 'proper' supermarkets have run out.
10 packs went out at the same time as plain packaging came in. The thinking was that kids were more likely to buy the smaller ones- which was almost certainly correct... however it also meant that your "last pack" if you were trying to quit, lasted longer!

Alpine's "American Cream Soda" was somewhat different to their "Dandelion and Burdock" but yes, reckon you're otherwise more-or-less spot on there!

A 16A commando connector is another option if you want a connector that is robust and locks together, CPC's own brand are good quality.
That would be a bit bulky and heavy to be dangling off the end of the handle at the appliance end, surely?
might be, but the connectors aren't that heavy, and yea I do have a fair bit of experience with them, both 16 and 32A and on the extension I made for work the weight of the connector isn't an issue as it's got 4mm² cable coming out of it!
Absolutely disgusting stuff, but dirt cheap.

Apparently so, although since 2016, Hofmeister has been under new ownership. (Back in the day, this lager brand used to be part of the Scottish & Newcastle empire).
Belated update on this: my local Co-op/Keystore has been selling individual grab bags of Heros-sized Creme Egg Twisted bars since roughly mid-late December last year as part of the Christmas/seasonal confectionary range. No doubt they'll disappear before the end of the month.
