Oh crickey yes. I suspect the 197s should be in the frame soon.........!.And why do the engines on the almost new 196s need changing? They're the same type as on the 195s

They shouldn't unless the 196s have already run up 500,000 miles which is the typical overhaul mileage of 158s\Turbos. I understand the Southern 171s engines rafts are overhauled almost every five years. And why do the engines on the almost new 196s need changing? They're the same type as on the 195s
The latest modern railways says that the unit mileage of the fleet is around 112,000.They shouldn't unless the 196s have already run up 500,000 miles which is the typical overhaul mileage of 158s\Turbos. I understand the Southern 171s engines rafts are overhauled almost every five years.
They still have a few working trains to allocate then?WMR Train Allocations shown on realtimetrains.co.uk from today
The 196s are yeah. Are all of these now in service?
I know this is the WMR 196 thread, but isn't it only the 20 West Midlands Railway 196s that have been in service, with none of the 6 Chiltern / East West Rail 196s yet in service? The 196s are yeah.
Those six all operated for WMR before being withdrawn for transfer.none of the 6 Chiltern / East West Rail 196s yet in service?
True, but are they having to be retro modified for DCO / DOO door controls if EWR is or isn't going to be DCO operated ?At least that should hopefully mean they have bedded in somewhat and should hit the ground running.
