102 and 295 are going b2b from NL to Derby tomorrow for some filming. And 295 is not the cleanest apparently!
Thanks. Whatever was on with 102 yesterday (I didn't take a note) looked a bit shabby I have to say- crying out for a lick of Blue and Grey to pair up with 102 - or maybe even more an EMR colour scheme!

Incidentally - and I'm sure it will be in this thread somewhere, but if anyone can recall - when were the ex LNER sets supposed to have started with EMR - was it to be in time for the May 2020 timetable? And would that have been the whole fleet required at that time? or was it later than that. I've forgotten now.

The EMR sets were originally end dated 28th July 2020. Presumably the idea was that that would be the last possible date, with the ex-LNER sets phased in gradually before hand.

I got that from Modern Railways, Feb 2020, post #132...

Is it confirmed the last EMR HST operating on 15 May before timetable change?
It was a few weeks ago that I looked but I noted an absence of Advance tickets on what would be HST diagrammed services on the 14th and thought it is probably not a co-incidence. Although sats (15th) are days when HSTs don't always run it seems, so another aspect to be aware of.

I’ve not yet seen anything that suggest otherwise. Though I feel we’ll still be in for another big surprise before they go.

Alright thanks, let's see if there are any updates

Is it confirmed that the HST's will be gone in May ?

I'm booking in early June and would prefer one if they were still running.

If they've all gone by the end of May, won't that leave a shortage of suitable sets for the London services?

No, because the 360s will cover Corby, so they only need 4 trains per hour to be covered by the existing diesel fleet. That then allows EMR to get rid of the HSTs and keep the 222 and 180 diesels.

So in short, no there will not be any rolling stock shortages.

And reduces the turnaround times at St Pancras and Nottingham, significantly for the diesel stock.

Just the peak summer Saturday Skeggy services to worry about then! ;)

With UK vacations looking likely to be more popular than ever this year, and [I believe] the 222s and 180s not cleared to Skeggy, how the demand is handled could be interesting.

If they are depending on the 180s there will be shortages.....

I contacted Porterbrook to ask about the EMR HST fleet and they told me the fleet was coming off lease in may

Ah well. It looks as though I'll be using EMT anyway due to the KX closures. The 222's are nice enough, I seem to recall.
