So they're running the new operational timetable today, just empty between Kennington and Battersea Power Station Station, I guess the call may be made in the late afternoon to switch to passenger service if they have a solid morning.
Does this mean that a full sweep is made of every train at Kennington sb?No, it will not be (running to Battersea this afternoon). Nothing has gone wrong (yet) but passenger service will not begin until tomorrow.

So does that mean if it's going round the loop they leave it alone?Yes, there are additional staff fully detraining Battersea trains at Kennington P2.
There is no need for them to detrain XKL trains, but when the next one gets to Kennington (currently at Leicester Square) I'll let you know if they do or not - joys of CCTV!So does that mean if it's going round the loop they leave it alone?
Cheers, would be interesting to know. There is no need for them to detrain XKL trains, but when the next one gets to Kennington (currently at Leicester Square) I'll let you know if they do or not - joys of CCTV!
****ing incompetent surely.Good to know. Don't know if anyone saw the Tweets from @geofftech, but it seems like the maps in at least four stations have been incorrectly printed with "Power Station Battersea" instead of "Battersea Power Stations". Very unfortunate.
They're not fully detraining, but the platform staff are advising customers that the train terminates - (which is fair enough considering they're on the platform already). If you wanted to do the loop, your best bet would be car 2 on the South end.Cheers, would be interesting to know.
OK, cheers. I might try and do the loop tomorrow after I've ridden the extension and a few other things. Tomorrow you shouldn't have an issue anyway; as the Battersea trains will be in service we won't have additional detrainment staff at Kennington.OK, cheers. I believe they're fully staffed, judging by the number of people in LU operational uniform around the station ticket halls.I guess that makes sense - as it means everything can be tested out operationally today without needing the stations manned to the extent that's required for evacuation purposes.
****ing incompetent surely.
Weren't there also maps at stations a couple of months ago which had Nine Elms and Battersea Power Station the wrong way round on the map too (i.e. with Nine Elms as the final station on the line)
EDIT
Probably. I heard the TfL design dept was more-or-less wound up and discontinued a few years back. You get what you pay for!Good lord, did they outsource the vinyl map printing to the lowest bidder or something?
Yes, the stations have been fully staffed for a couple of weeks now. Still various pieces of work to be completed even today and over the next few weeks.I believe they're fully staffed, judging by the number of people in LU operational uniform around the station ticket halls.

But outsourcing the design posters and maps is no excuse for allowing errors like that to actually appear in publicProbably. I heard the TfL design dept was more-or-less wound up and discontinued a few years back. You get what you pay for!

Edit: I didn’t see the Nine Elms and BPS being swapped blunder. That is a big deal. Someone’ll be in for a meeting with tea and no biscuits for that, I’m sure!“TfL will see my tweet and have it corrected overnight by tomorrow” - Geoff
Some nice humility there!
Personally I don’t see a big deal. Everyone knows what it is. It’s just like “Lime Street Liverpool” which is displayed in Norfolk, or “British Steel Redcar” which was more commonly used in official and formal terms than “Redcar British Steel” was.
Arrive in the northbound platform, de-train, reverse around the Kennington loop (in the "wrong" direction) to the southbound platform, depart Southbound back to BPS.
Necessary for the first few trains as it takes some time for the first southbound trains from Highgate etc to reach Battersea.
Is power for the new extension fed from the Battersea Power Station end? Or isn't there enough power there since Battersea Power Station was decommissioned?Good to know. Looks like rather a long walk at Kennington between the Morden and Charing Cross lines.Well - the extension has opened and there are two very impressive stations! (Not sure if it was deliberately kept under wraps, but I didn't see any pictures of the Battersea mezzanine - perhaps the most impressive section of all - pre-opening!). Don't normally link to my blog on the forum but rather than double-posting essentially the same post again, I've posted my thoughts in a bit more detail and several pictures here: https://transportedbytechnology.co.uk/transport/tube-battersea-extension/
It does (and its not!) - not entirely sure why the new tube map layout has quite such a gap at Kennington.Looks like rather a long walk at Kennington between the Morden and Charing Cross lines.
To fit the Nine Elms text in above Vauxhall, without kinking the Bakerloo & Thameslink at Elephant.not entirely sure why the new tube map layout has quite such a gap at Kennington.
I know it's (probably) not her, but the extension (and Bank) announcements to me sound an awful lot like Emma Clarke - even down to the intonation. I think the fact that the audio quality isn't as muffled or distorted is confusing people, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's her.
