This sort of thing must be costing Network Rail an absolute fortune in penalty payments to TfL; and rightly so. NR need to sort out a better level of sickness cover than this - and it might even work out cheaper in the long run.

Hi Rover. You're still saying on the ALR page that it's not valid on TfL Rail to Heathrow - which is potentially confusing even though TfL no longer exists; it could be misconstrued that this means not valid on Elizabeth Line to Heathrow.

I'm sure you're have no trouble turning up on the day and buying a single ticket, unless it is some sort of special event weekend or something. Trying to push everyone into buying day rovers is a bit naughty really, but I suppose it increases their revenue, and several other heritage railways...

I still remember when the A34 around Oxford was partly closed for resurfacing in the late 90s & usage at Hanborough went through the roof! Happily the growth continued, giving us the partly staffed, well used & served station of today.

This matches closely my own opinion on this subject.
