15/10:
171810 (East Croydon - Hurst Green) (As a 171/8)
171812 (East Croydon - Hurst Green) (As a 171/8)

720582 (Harlow Town - Tottenham Hale)
745103 (Liverpool Street - Harlow Town) [Last GA Flirt :)]

Cleared for mileage:

376011
376026 (Class cleared :))
378136
378141
378220 (I've decided to get rid of my "5 mile due to operating within the London Zones" for the 378/710s, just to give me something to do for the winter months where it's dark outside)

LU92088 & LU92452

A productive day in London, just 466009 left for South Eastern [excluding 465239 & 466043 as both are in storage]. Got lucky with that 720 as it was a semi-required move to position myself for those renumbered 171s [had Southern just kept them as 824/826 simply replacing the 7 with a 8 [like XC/WMT did with the 170/5 & 170/6 renumbering), they would have been treated similar to the 450/5 - 450/0s & 153/9s, but everybody does it differently. I'm happy my last GA Flirt is cleared, no more keeping my eyes peeled at Liverpool Street just in case it pops up.

Yes, for me, I know I've been on all of the 171s, and therefore no need to travel on something I've already been on just because the number and formation is changed. At the end of the day, I'll just be travelling on something I've already travelled on. You're stricter with your haulages though, and that's fine.

It's like the 150/0s with Northern when they created 003-006.

Everybody has different 'rules' when it comes to units getting reformed/renumbered.

Yes, I had them all as 150/1s and 150/2s and therefore did not see fit to take the new 150/0s. Might you know which 171s have different numbers so I can update my log please? :)

From another post, 721 to 726 become 807 to 812.
724 & 726 have already been extended.

Yes indeed, I'd already had 003-006 in their CT/LM guise so I wasn't going to bother doing the Northern versions. I eventually succumbed to going after them, same with the 153/9s and reformed XC 170s. I still hope there will be no more reforming and renumbering of 150s, it took me long enough to complete the collection as it is!

The 170s going back to 170s, and the reformations on Southern, do not bother me too much, as I wanted most of the 171/7s anyway. The 170/4s, well I am certain I had 170422 in First ScotRail days, but I have no confirmation. It is what it is though, and soon I suspect EMR will have them going. The 170s are like the 150s, they've taken me an eternity to complete and I was all done in January. Still, it will only be 4 more!

Not a lot on a trip to Cambridegshire and Suffolk yesterday. The 387s and 755s weren't playing:

I realised that LNR were still running peak time 319s, so extended my London day out. Thanks to @03_179 and the Part Time Spotter Team website for helping with allocations.

A trip out to one of the East Suffolk Lines between Ipswich and Lowestoft.
On the way home, I noticed my last 377/7 on a Dorking service, so diverted via MIJ.
Not much of an achievment as there are only eight but it brightened a dull journey home.

Picked up 700051 for mileage this evening when heading into London from Leagrave following a long walk from Welwyn. Always nice to get a bonus low mileage RLU on a semi required move :)

5 more 700/0s left to hunt down for ten miles, including a couple which are sub mile.

I read that yesterday might be the last day in service for the Class 315s, so as the weather was pleasant I headed up to London.

I've cleared everything in service on National Rail (Liz included) within 50 miles of London, other than one 710, a couple of 720s and three 801s, and it's really making me jealous to see these lists. I really miss going to London on a Travelcard and coming back with thirty new haulages after a really productive day.

Come on SWR, get these 701s into mass service A.S.A.P!

I believe from next week, the use is reduced to a tiny number of peak time Liverpool Street - Gidea Park services (and vice versa). I suspect as soon as the remaining 7 coach 345s working from Paddington get extended to 9 coaches, the 315s will get retired.

A few from yesterday's trip to London with just a zones 1-6 Travelcard.
As the Underground and some other TFL services were not running due to the strike, I had planned to spend the whole day south of the river trying to catch up there.

However, the lure of two of the three Great Western 387s I was after on an easy run to West Drayton and back was too much so I headed to Paddington first.
A planned trip to find the Southeastern 707 I was looking for was a fail as I arrived at Cannon Street to see the service was cancelled.

Clearly you've been busy! After I post Day 7 of my trip report from last week's ALR (Scotland seems so long ago already!) I'll post my list. This time last Friday I was on a fast Azuma north out of London!

You've done well to clear the lot.
A London Travelcard can be fun but a lot of the destinations in Southeastern land are very grim and the Networkers aren't appealing, so I still need lots of them!

Chugging round Wales on a 150 has more appeal to me.

Agreed there, at least the 465/9s do escape on faster services towards Orpington or Bromley South. I'm glad I got my last active South Eastern units over ten miles.

I've given up chasing the 465s and 466s, I'll never get the lot so not worth the hassle. The 375s, 376s and 707s I will make the effort for though. There's an absolute ton of stuff I want in the London area, so I could easily do a short trip there and come away with some big results. Just with the 710s and 720s, I'd easily come away with double digit results in one big afternoon session!

My problem though is that London has so much to offer apart from trains, so the old days of booking a cheap hostel to crash in for a few hours and going crazy with the red pen, well they're not likely to return. Going after a few trains to link up some exploring, absolutely!

My list of scores will go up tonight, it was to be done by now but I went into town to get some supplements and insoles from Boots, and £33.49 later I was out on a pre-work and pre-lunch power-walk. As you do
