Thanks for thisType on Google search “OPC Watford” the number comes up. If there’s any consolation I rang them it was pointless and a dismissive conversation. Told me Arriva has the results they cant share that information only give feedback once the result is known. What I don’t like they be going on like you ain’t patient like it ain’t been over three weeks. When they stated themselves 7-10 days. People that don’t know how to deliver good customer service is my pet peeve (I’ve done the job over 10 years) it don’t cost nothing to be polite! Like we ain’t anxious enough?? I’m frustrated by that conversation. So if you in the same boat don’t bother calling ain’t worth it. Contact Arriva (the woman that emailed you) me personally I’ll wait till Monday before I email if haven’t heard anything
I have my DMI date in a weeks time. No assessments with the OPC, just ARL. Sorry for the late reply.Alexandra
this doesn’t seem to be the case, the OPC have stated they are only dealing with the testing and notifying of the results. They are not providing further details for those who have already passed.
Has anyone who is waiting a DMI from a previous recruitment drive been contacted to attend an interview?
That’s ok and great news. Really pleased for you. Not really sure who to contact at this point.Got my DMI invite for next week

Thank you and for what it’s worth, I know it’s not easy to read but I say let this recruitment drive go and wait till another drive opens up. There will be other opportunities in the future. Especially if you’re London based. That’s ok and great news. Really pleased for you. Not really sure who to contact at this point.
Did you get the invite today?Got my DMI invite for next week

No worries cheers! No a few days ago.
Thanks I appreciate the advice and may just have to. Don't take that the wrong way but do what’s right for you. You’ve emailed ARL and the OPC, bar going down to their head offices, there’s no one else.
Thanks I appreciate the advice and may just have to sit this one out. Best of luck with your DMI!
They are/have been interviewing for a few weeks. Around 120-150 interviewees in total
Has to beAre you referring to the DMIs? That's quite a lot. Is that for both the depots?
Might not just be from this campaign but internal moves or older campaignsThat would explain why they were being strict on the travel times if they have that many people who passed the assessments.
120 is , or was around three quarters of Willesden establishment wasn't it. That's a lot considering Willesden was over subscribed anyway. More work coming or lots leaving? That would explain why they were being strict on the travel times if they have that many people who passed the assessments.
They're short at NXG, perhaps most of new recruits will go there.120 is , or was around three quarters of Willesden establishment wasn't it. That's a lot considering Willesden was over subscribed anyway. More work coming or lots leaving?
Still seems a lot thoughThey're short at NXG, perhaps most of new recruits will go there.
Seems though, but it's just interviews, not necessarily all of them will be passed.Still seems a lot though![]()
Might not be, overground are known for not having talent pools, i know three drivers that went there and received a start date right after their dmi results but i could be wrong they might have changed things aroundI assume quite a few will be talent pool, and the current requirements will be filled accordingly
And when i say drivers i mean people that applied like everyone else and went through opc etc… not qualified drivers that came from another tocMight not be, overground are known for not having talent pools, i know three drivers that went there and received a start date right after their dmi results but i could be wrong they might have changed things around

Of course. I knew that was a small possibility , but still surprised me as someone upthread said that they had been interviewing for two weeks and are until the 29th. I don't ever remember them doing that when I was there and also quite a few people said they were getting knocked back for distance and they lived similar or closer distance than many of the trainees from when I started , which suggested to me that they were whittling down the numbers before interview. I also know they are taking on more operations trainers too. Just seems like maybe there are expansion plans.Interviews not positions. You could maybe divide that number by 5 and also consider some might be in talent pools/backups.
They've lost 2 ops trainers which is why they advertised for 2 full time positions and also a 9 month secondment in anticipation of these next courses.Of course. Ah I didn't think they lost any. I was under the impression that some might want to become DM and that someone is off having an op and that someone else that is above the trainer's has retired and an ops trainer is covering at the moment. They've lost 2 ops trainers which is why they advertised for 2 full time positions and also a 9 month secondment in anticipation of these next courses.
Been told there are some plans in the pipeline but no one knows what as depots still over compliment. Guessing they will introduce the WLL shuttles that were scrapped. Few drivers have also put in transfers for Chingford. But like you Baz, I'm surprised by that number of DMIs too. Also, not aware of ARL introducing a talent pool.
I dont think so reading this reply. Its probable those waiting to hear back haven't passed and have failed to be notified. I think we've already established in this thread the poor comms from recruitment? The proposed dmi interview end date of 29/09 might even be extended seen as people on here are still awaiting to hear back after their stage 2 tests. That would put it at 4 weeks worth of DMIs.
Not to worry anyone still waiting, cause it might not be the case for you necessarily. But I just realised not many would be informative if they failed (which I understand, it’s easy to feel deflated after such a process) so I’ll share my update . I haven’t heard back from Arriva about my stage 2 technically however I received a call from another TOC for an interview. I was transparent and let them know I recently sat a MMI stage 2 with Arriva. They checked on the database and said unfortunately I failed my MMI so they couldn’t longer process my application and took me out the talent pool. So I rang OPC and asked for my feedback they said it would take up to two weeks. I found out last week Monday.
Yeah, I guess so!I dont think so reading this reply. Its probable those waiting to hear back haven't passed and have failed to be notified. I think we've already established in this thread the poor comms from recruitment?
