Is there a list of all those done? Including those being done, as the next time we see them they will be done.
Thanks!

LTV: 122, 123, 126, 118 with 119 next in line

West: 130 currently at Wolverton. i don’t think any others from SPM have been through yet but may be wrong as not my part of the world.

I believe you are correct about 130 being the first PM based set to be done - I was told it was the first.

I had a look at 118 when it was sitting at Reading earlier this evening and the new seat covers do look quite smart.

Although if they remain looking smart 6 months down the line after people rest their dirty feet on them as they can't sit properly is another matter.

Have you ever considered that the reason people don’t sit properly in them might be because the seats can’t be sat in  they’re a horrendously awkward shape for most people over 5’’11

I’m 5’11” and I have no problem sitting on the seats and keeping my feet on the floor.

I travelled on one of the refreshed 165s last month. Putting down light grey flooring seemed a terrible choice - considering the unit had not long been done, the floor was already discoloured with a brown tinge and every bit of dirt showed up. Surely a dark grey would’ve been better?

It will be interesting to watch the workings of 165132 to get it in to position for move to Wolverton on Thursday. It has been working off Reading for the past two weeks and, if RTT is correct, is currently on the Greenford diagram. That should end at Oxford tonight, and it could work the Worcester instead of 165131 tomorrow but, without swapping diagrams, it still won't get on to St Philips Marsh in time for 1252.

Correct I travelled on it on the 08:12 Greenford to West Ealing this morning

165132 is on the Greenford diagram again today, so I am not sure what that means for todays planned St Philips Marsh to Wolverton move?

A normally reliable St Philips Marsh source has posted elsewhere that 165128 was 5Q70 to Wolverton yesterday. But today 165128 is shown on RTT working 1F04 from Frome to Cardiff so now I am confused. To add to the confusion, 165132 worked the Greenford branch until the 1450 Greenford - West Ealing before the service was suspended for two hours due to "a problem with the brakes" and 165132 was replaced by Bristols 165134. 165132 would have been at Castle Bar Park as 5Q70 passed through West Ealing, so any thoughts of a set swap on 5Q70 at West Ealing sidings are a red herring. Aside from 165132, the only other Bristol 2-car 165 not showing on RTT this morning is 165129 but there has been no mention of 165129 going to Wolverton so that may be a co-incidence? Does anyone know what actually did work 5Q70 to Wolverton yesterday, many thanks.

I posted 129 as that was the unit I observed at Twyford W.

I note the 165s seem to being done first; is it because they are being released by 769s coming into service?

There isn’t the slack in the 3-165 or 166 fleets to do refurb work until the 769s enter service.

Not quite strictly true, the 2-car 165s were always planned to be done first and only once they’ve been completed the work would start on the 3 car sets.

I was looking at stock availability at Exeter and what it would take to replace them with 165/166s. 16 out of 20 units were in use today; 10 on the Paignton/Exmouth (doubled up). Two 166s are regularly used as well. An extra unit will be required for Okehampton unless one of the four spares is used.

So it would only take 11 165/166s plus whatever spares ( 3 maybe) required saving maintenance costs, less bogies, less cabs more space. With 19 769s supposed by end of year it shouldn't be too difficult

3 158s (all three car) was used on Barnstaple today so Exeter depot has had a good day.

The plan is not to replace the 150s at Exeter. Indeed currently heavy works are taking place on the 3 Angel 150s to ensure their continued service with GWR.

As someone who works on them daily I'm glad to hear that, I'd actually be happy if we took a few of the TfW ones when they go off lease

Likewise, considering the interior layouts will be the same. I wonder if the 3 Angel sets will have their interiors made similar (plenty of Chapman seats now made available for 202/216 from the scrapping of the 143 & 317 fleets).
