From where I sit reading this I may have misinterpreted this postfull 50g jobbies.
Would this have been the Avanti lounge?Last time I went to Glasgow pre covid it was one of the better ones , they had crisps , pretzels , cherry bakewells , biscuits fruit and of course a couple of the usual coffee machines
They say 70 minutes but it can be more or less depending on the crew. How long does a journey need to be before being offered food / alcohol?
I don't think there ever was any limit for alcohol was there? And the 70 minute limit was for hot food iirc? But they seem to have dumped the 70 minute rule completely now, as there no mention of it anywhere in their publicity. Instead it says this...."If your journey with us is less than 45 minutes, please check with your host what food options are available."They say 70 minutes but it can be more or less depending on the crew.

45 minutes is far more reasonable. 70 minutes is very stingy. So was the one meal only rule for London to Edinburgh. On Virgin Trains you were always offered more after Preston, and that's not about being greedy, it's about the offering in relation to the journey time.I don't think there ever was any limit for alcohol was there? I see LNER are advertising a special "Festive menu" coming soon for Wednesday 30 November 2022 to Wednesday 4 January 2023. No details yet though. Anyone know what it might contain? Or will it be like last year's "Christmas" menu, which was exactly the same (as far as I could see) as the normal menu, except that it had "Christmas Menu" written on it, and reindeer pictures.....
That's a fairly typical menu from memory (might actually be a bit better than some past years!). Prior to Covid they would basically just shut down the enter catering operation other than a couple of hot items. The big difference this time though is in the time span. It used to kick in a day or two before Christmas and then run through to the first working day after New Year's day. To have run through all of December is new "innovation". For the week between Christmas and New Year it always felt acceptable. But for the entirety of December? Now that's stingy. So called "Christmas menu" on the website now. I'm not impressed. No more cooked breakfast on any trains. No more sausage sandwich. No more meals.

Stuffing mayonnaise, whatever that is.*Chicken* and stuffing? Talk about cheaping out. I'd get a proper Christmas *turkey* and stuffing sandwich from Marks!
