U.450039 is off repaint at Bournemouth Depot and back in service today on Poole to Winchester shuttles.

Looks like U.450026 could be the replacement as its the only unallocated 450 unit in Bournemouth Depot, to be confirmed?

Yes your right, 450026 is the next one. Was supposed to be due in on to 11th but must be ahead of schedule.

So, not far off 50% for the 444 fleet, but still only scratching the surface with the 450s.

I wonder where it would all be if it weren't for Covid.

444032 has been repainted and will be hauled back to NT by 450112 on 5Z53 tonight as it has outstanding defects that require
it to be assisted.
444026 has come down from NT on 5Z52 with 450112, guess that will be the next paint unit.

Update on next paint job, looks like its 444016 which I seem to remember @Dan15812 mentioned when 444032 took its place.

450026 is being released from Bournemouth this morning and as you say is on the Lymington branch today.
As far as I'm aware there are no 450s stopped for painting at Bournemouth.
450124 is spare on depot but is not stopped.
450064 could well be the next one for painting. I'm just going on info I've been given.

Hopefully should become clearer soon!

Yes SWR are still committed to the refurbishment of the diesels.
The original plan was due to start in March last year. However failed to materialise due to Covid.
This means that the everything will need to be re arranged as part of a new contract to deliver the refurb.
At the moment SWR are still waiting for the go-ahead from pursumably Porterbrook and the DfT.
As soon as this happens we should have more information about the refurb.
Watch this space!

Desiro repaint update - 450 027 is next one due in 15.02.21. Which will replace 450 018.

How many more of SWR's 158/159's need refurbishing and repaiting? I occasionaly see the old SWT livery, but most are in the SWR one. In Exeter they seems to be mostly SWR but there are a few in SWT .

All of the twenty-two original 159/0s have SWR livery, although some (I think 003 and 007) have the stripy vinyl whereas others have paint. The eight 159/1s are still in a modified version of SWT livery. 159102/103 have a different variant to the other six.

I think 2 158s have SWR stripy vinyl and the others are in SWT livery.

I would expect not, but as they were only very recently touched up, it’s probably their priority to redo the other trains first.

The 159s that have been “refurbished” however, are not complete. I believe they are to get plug sockets, and the first class seats have not yet been attended to.

158887, 158888 & 158890, with all 159/0 (159001 - 159022) are in the new livery.

158880 - 158886 and all 159/1 (159101 - 159108) are in the modified SWT "sunray" livery - so 15 in the old colours and 25 in the new.

One thing that I'm sure is overdue is the fitment of new PIS screens to the Desiros.
